This is sad but i had to get it out. I was coming back down to Waterford this evening for work in the morning. There was a line of cars about 15 or twenty long cruising along at about 55 in a hundred limit. Was thinking its a micra or something holding the lot up. Some crazy passing later, my turn came up...only to be met by the backside of a 360 Modena...just not what i was expecting

Considering we're forever being told this country suffers from a "speeding epidemic", I certainly haven't seen much evidence of it.

I've overtaken Skylines, TTs, M3s and even an R8 in my 1.9 (diesel) Passat. I genuinely wonder why they bothered.

Thing is though just because someone drives a quick car doesn't mean they have to drive it quickly all the time.

True, but conditions allowing you'd assume they'd at least drive *somewhere* around the limit. Not 20 to 30 kmh below it.

That's as maybe but it sounds like this Ferrari driver was so slow he was an actual menace.

we moan on this forum when people break the speed limit, and tell them they are in the wrong...
then when they are driving legally under the speed limit, we are giving out, calling them a menace..
me I would consider the idiot doing the dangerous overtaking the menace not the guy in the modena,....

by the sounds of that comment we do have a speeding issue, esp. with passat diesel drivers :D

Not that I've noticed. I speed all the time, and never get any stick here for saying so.

We do get a bit short with people who speed, get caught, and act surprised.

Personally, I would consider both to be a menace. The guy in the Modena's failure to give (and failure to make progress is a test fail) way resulted in some Frankly stupid overtaking - often peoply doing it with no view in front of the other side of the road

Clearly too much to ask that someone drive at an appropriate speed that's not too fast and not too slow...

Why can't the person driving slowly pull in and allow other cars to pass safely?

This is something that boggles my mind when stuck behind trucks or busses etc. Just pull in a little and let people go ahead if they are so eager.

You are equally at fault if you're just ignorant and force someone to overtake dangerously.
