    Hi all,

I'm searching for an ld28 engine, its a diesel engine that was found in the nissan Gloria, Cedric, Laurel and 810.

It doesn't matter what condition the engine is in :D

    Cheers

I don't think that diesel versions of those engines were ever imported here or the UK. You might try some of the Jap car importers - maybe one of them could ship one over for you. Mind you, I think that most Jap car diesels fro that era were for export but I stand to be corrected...

Ah ok, I didn't know they weren't sold over here, thanks for the info.
To be honest I just want the crankshaft out of one but they are impossible to find

    There y'are. I was wrong... :o

Come to think of it, I knew a lad who converted a Volvo 245 to some sort of Japanese diesel about 20 years ago so there must have been some sort of availability over the years...

I had a range rover with one in it years ago -v-nice engine

They were popular in rangies and landies then(early-mid nineties)
Also saw some in merc and volvo taxis around then.

You could try Land rover specialists/breakers, I spoke to Robert
Power near Aughrim in Wicklow a few years ago and he had a s/h
conversion kit and thought he could find an engine.

Milners in Derbyshire in UK used to sell the kit and japanese engines
but I think sold out conversion kit side of business to a crowd called
conversion and precision or something similar.

I think mine had been converted by API in Clonmel.

Why do You need a crank ? some jap manufacturers used to say
You could not grind their cranks undersize due to hardening process
used and as such did not supply undersize bearings but I got some
from a crowd in London who I think were called SMS diesel. This was
for an Isuzu trooper engine but maybe You have been told the same ?

Hope this is of some use !

Look for anything RWD and thirsty from the 1980's like Sierras, Granadas, 6-cylinder BMW's, etc. These were all frequently converted to diesel with them Nissan engines. The country must be full of them.
