...go read the latest update as several high profile festivals have been banned in light of a recent press release.

I'm confused by the fact that the UK festivals that were banned are only being banned now. The fact that they've been owned by that company for years now and there has been discussion here for that time would have implied that the issue wasn't directly associated with parent companies of companies that boards.ie has a grievance with.

What needs to be clarified is if this includes Live Nation events as well considering they are a parent company as well? In which case if the Ticketmaster merger goes through are boards.ie just going to shut up shop for gigs and events. :(

Not looking to be banned but it does need to be made clear.

The concern is about Festival Republic which is co-owned by MCD and Live Nation. That it has only come to light that these festivals came under the MCD umbrella doesnt matter.

From what I understand Live Nation are a seperate company from MCD, and events which they do not co-organise are okay for posting.

Further clarification has been sought from the higher ups.

Yep, I believe this matter needs to be brought to the attention of one of the Administrators, as the extent of how they want the ban implemented is up to them.

Hey guys, I'll contact KevIRL about this during the week. I believe this matter needs to be brought to the attention of one of the Administrators, as the extent of how they want the ban implemented is up to them.

Check the thread in the mods forum. DeVore has been made aware of it already.
