This is the first positive thing I have seen about this movie.

I used to like Kevin James in King of Queens.

    Went to see this yesterday.

Sooooooooooooo, I thought it was complete shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite.

Love Kevin James in King of Queens. Don't know what he was thinking making this tripe, not even remotely funny.

Saw a trailer recently for a similar movie. It has Seth Rogen as a mall security guard basically going completely over the top with his duties. Anyway going by the trailer it looks far superior.

Didnt like Paul Blart at all,all the funny bits were in the trailor and felt the story concentrated too much on romance! Much preferred Lesbian Vampire Killers!!:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,598 ✭✭✭cashback

Here's the Seth Rogen one, Observe and Report.

Who knows, maybe there's a danger of Rogen over-exposure but still looks funny.

Hmm, not showing up for me above but here's the link:

I laughed once during the entire movie. It was a good hard laugh but dosen't make up for the rest of it. Utter rubbish in my humble opinion.

Cheap laughs, exactly what I expected.
I liked the Die Hard and Eraser parodies though

Well acontadino if you want my full reasoning for not going to see it and judging it then it is as follows:

Life is precious, spending some of it on 1 hour 27 mins movie can sometimes be a lot of time to spend watching thrash.

In these stringent economic times the movie theatre also requires you to shell out 10 euro on this thrash.

Therefore with this basis in mind Id rather read what a number of respected critics have said on the movie in order to draw some conclusions, as the ones I have read in the past have rarely been mistaken in their appraisal thus saving me time and money. None of their reviews gave Paul Blart over one star and rottentomatoes.com gave it a paltry 32% on their approval chart.

Lastly and most pertinently at present is my belief that you appear to be a complete imbecile and that if someone like you thoroughly enjoyed this slosh then I am pretty sure that I wouldnt.

It is you and your ilk which allows for a movie like High School Musical 3: Senior Year to have record box-office takings in this country. Your kind and your views should be discouraged not promoted.

    good luck now

The movie's **** but that's no excuse to attack the poster no matter how bad his spelling, grammar and enthusiasm might be, different people have different tastes.

(It really is a terrible film though).

well my friend you are correct I do lead quite a pathetic existence (much like your dear old chum Paul Blart) otherwise I suppose I wouldnt be on an internet community website at 15:30 of a friday afternoon. I can assure you, however, that I am great crack on a night out and can hold up my own when it comes to downing a bottle of pop or two. Especially when the night involves taking in a flick at the local picture house.

I watched it last night. It got 5/10 on IMDB so I was not expecting much, but there are just way too many super cringy moments where I was hiding behind my hands cause it was so painfull I could not even watch.

There were a few funny moment in it and it did give me a laugh, but just don't expect a lot or you will be dissappointed...

Of recent times Borat was probably one of the funniest movies I've ever seen if not the funniest and I'm pretty sure Paul Blart Mall Cop doesnt come even close to it.

Superbad was good but got a bit gay at the end, still funny though.

I remember the first time I saw Napoleon Dynamite I was laughing heartily too.

In Bruges had good entertainment value also.

its one of those strange disney type moveis that i havn't seen for a good while where the two people meet, they guy tries to woo the girl while having an adventure and then its cuts to them getting married in the credits, no dating, intimancy, getting to know each other by livinging together, pre marrital sex, all skipped straight to wedding. bizarre

whats the deal with the red alien shaped head on the girl anyway.

saw this the other day. didn't expect much going in, and thought it was fairly pants overall.

I like kevin james and all, thought he was great in KOQ but this was pretty bad and there are very few funny moments

I quite enjoyed this movie. It is a very safe, and fairly predictable, film, that knows exactly what it is and is happy with it. You're not going to have yoru mind blown by some gross out / sexual / violent / in your face comedy routines. And that's alright, I had a very good time at the movie, I laughed quite a bit.

I'd recommend it to anyone with an open mind and in search of a good time.

By far one of the worst films of the year. Alongside Knowing and that god awful irish film W.C. How anyone would find this kind of tripe funny is beyond me.

Oh and for the record, I thought Napoleon Dynamite to be another terrible comedy - but each to their own.

I like stupid comedies (Blades of Glory, Old School, Zoolander) as much as the next guy but, Mall Cop is utter garbage! I like Kevin James and although I wasn't expecting much I thought it'd someway decent. I didn't laugh once. Skateboard punks takeover a mall. Did they learn to skate for their 'mission' or was there a gang of skaters for hire?! So, so bad.

    Merry early Christmas OP:

The animals at one particular zoo decide to break their code of silence in order to help their lovable zookeeper gain the attention of one particular woman.

I hope you're not suggesting people that (rightly) think this movie is shockingly bad have a narrow view of what's funny and/or are being snobbish?!!

Not at all ... I can see why people don't like it. It's very light, and very silly. Open minded was probably the wrong term to use .... people have to go in with the right frame of mind.

I went to see this over the weekend . it was exactly as I expected. A popcorn flick. No amazing plot twists or Oscar worthy performances. Just a safe fun family comedy with a predictable ending. Some fun gags along the way and some cringe worthy moments.

I think its unfair to mention it with Borat and Superbad or Seth Rogans new one as they have different markets. It is targeted to families and that’s probably how it got 1st place in the box office and because its for families the jokes are goofy and from an adults point of view not very funny. Borat and Superbad very funny but you couldn’t bring a child to them.

Plus you got to give it credit for playing Survivor "I Can't Hold Back"

Superbad is as about as funny as a boiling oil enema.I cannot understand the love for it.

it had its moments in fairness but as I said sold-out to gayness at the end. I wouldnt expect a man with such a voracious interest in independent horror movies to possess much of an interest in a high-school comedy anyway unless its plot involved a Columbine style massacre of said school. I am picturing you as the character 'the machine' from the Nic Cage movie 8mm.

    Is that a fact?
So what has lead you to this conclusion?
Is it the fact I thought Superbad was crap?(which it is,saying fcuk every 30 seconds does not funny make, just look at Brendan O'Carroll)
Is it because I have links to a couple of film companies sites in my sig?
If I had a link to Disneys site would you picture me as a charector from High School Musical?
Its pretty typical at this stage that fans of things that are not mainstream are seen as something of an oddity and have to listen to people trying to be funny/sarcastic by making comments on things they have absolutely no knowledge about.Strange considering the horse****e these drones cram down their imbecilic necks and still come back begging for more.
Oh,and FYI,the character is called machine, not the machine.
    ;)
