Might sound stupid but being busy in work so only heard of triple channel ram today and has made me want to upgrade. Is the only difference being ddr3 can run in 3 slots at the same speed as two or is it completely different sticks of ram.

Triple channel sets are meant for use with Intel Core i7 processors as they have 3 memory channels. Older processors such a the Intel Core2 family and AMD's only have two channels.

Thx was hoping would only have to get another 2gb ddr3 to make it 6gb. Will pick up 6gb ddr3 triple channel instead when start to build a new pc.
