    hi
    looking for some advice please
I have a fcr2 about 6 months old which I keep in doors.
have done zero maintenance on it yet ... but the clicking sounds from the bottom bracket are getting very noisy indeed. Bike runs fine otherwise.

I reckon there's no grease in there and it needs a grease injection ... that's a likely cause, isn't it? Another thing is how to get the grease in there ... I don;t have to take it appart do I?

I don't have a grease gun though, and I'm hardly going to buy one just for this. So maybe I should go to my local bike shop,

Just thought I'd post here to see if anybody had any suggestions, otherwise that's my planned course of action which I hope will be effective.
    cheers.

How you do it depends what kind of bottom bracket it is. However, you will have to take it out to do it.

Having said that, at six months old, I'd be surprised if the bottom bracket was causing trouble. There's a whole range of noises that sound like they're coming from the bottom bracket, but come from somewhere else.

    Have a look here
    http://www.bicycling.com/article/1,6610,s1-5-33-1058-1,00.html

Too many things sound like the BB as its pretty much centre of the frame ... but its easier to eliminate rest before you head to the BB.

Pedals, wheels, headset crank bolts, seatpost .. all can be checked out fairly easily before you head to the BB.

http://bicycletutor.com/check-bearing-wear/ might also come in handy.

Also, bicycletutor also has links taking you through overhauling BBs if thats what you need to do. I found the external BB on my bike fairly easy to overhaul .. didn't even need to take them off the bike .. but then again, I left the creaking go on for so long, that I think I need to replace it anyways .. and if it comes to that ... they are fairly cheap ... starting at around 20euro even in your LBS .. though they do charge nearly the same to fit it .. so might be worthwhile having a go yourself and learn how to do it.
