A bit surprised he wanted to do something for TV again but anything involving Stewart Lee is always worth a look.

A welcome addition to Monday nights schedules, I enjoyed it. Lee's pisstaking of the celebrity hardback and tragic novel was spot on, I lol'd at the last segment especially.

Agreed it was an easy target, but it would probably be cynical to call it lazy.

Thumbs up for this. I especially liked the bit about rap artists.

Actually, I thought the bit about the rap artists on the Top of the Pops was too drawn out considering the punchline.

Great in places, good in others and poor in parts. Overall a good watch though.

yeah it wasn't his best performance if you compare it to his ang lee joke you can see why he dragged it out so long , but it was a not sharp enough.

That's his style tho. His comedy is more about delivery that punchlines. He'll draw out an idea for longer than any comedian would tell you is advisable and then deliberately keep repeating the notions/phrases until the story enters absurdity.

I know but I agree with what lostexpectation said.

What was with the old lee and herring jokes "28 years old" and the malard joke and stewart lee basically saying exactly what richard herring would have said if he had been there?

(I know stewart loves postmodern humour and is probably making fun of people who would claim that he has run out of ideas and is just recycling old material....... but still, one can never be sure)

He is also getting a bit "I read lots of books so I am better than you"
Got to get someone to respond "I had friends as a child so never had the time":D

Funny except for the end, that Del Boy joke was cringe worthy.

Obviously you just weren't clever enough to appreciate his subtle genius
