Swimming in Portugal in April

Just booked a Villa in the Alrgarve for April. I have been to the Algarve quite a few times - just never so early in the year.

One of the things that I forgot to check for in the villa booking was a heated pool.

Anyone know if a swimming pool will be warm enough for the kids to swim in mid April? Will the sea be warm enough?

    Thanks

Not sure about the sea but I'm usually in a villa in that region around April each year and the pool can be quite chilly. Last year, I don't think the temperature (on "land", not in the pool) ever really got up above 27 degrees celsius so the water was a bit nippy. The previous year, temperatures were more like 30 degrees and over so the water was perfect. Think 30 and above is more common there in April.

Saying that, once I was in over bum-level, the water in the pool was fine but getting in was a bit of a chore. Going this year at the very end of April, beginning of May and praying the weather will be 30/32.

I'm not much help as don't have kids and don't know how extra sensitive they are to water temperatures.
