Can't get any signal now from Carin Hill since yesterday.

Suppose its best to remember that they are after all test transmissions.

Cairn Hill is still on with all 4 terrestrials.

Must be on reduced power (DTT that is) as reception quality here has dropped to zero.

Mullaghanish (today Wednesday) currently transmitting an 'empty mux' on Ch 25 (506MHz)

Its not carrying any TV channels. The Ch25 is planned for Boxer.

Hope to have a Mpeg4 Dtt set top box by the weekend. Mullaganish is my main transmitter, so hoping to get Dtt signal from there. Will you post here as soon as signal is back on again ? By the way, is Woodcock Hill and Mt.Leinster Dtt on all the time ? Where I'm based ( Mitchelstown ) , I can pull in analogue signals from both, especially Mt. Leinster, so I might try those also.

Thanks for the update. I suppose we had better get used to all this on and off until, it's officially switched on for good in the Autumn hopefully. I hope that one of these days, they won't decide that they have done enough testing and shut it off completely until launch.
If my box shows up at the weekend, I'll give a reception report for this part of North East Co.Cork, from Mullaghanish.

Shutting it down is a strong possibility, from http://www.rtenl.ie/dtt.htm
    Digital Roll Out

RTÉNL is undertaking DTT technical test transmissions in a number of areas. This is being done to verify the engineering integrity of the systems and to confirm coverage.

These test transmissions will operate for varying durations and are subject to regular variations and prolonged interruptions. The test transmissions will cease in the majority of areas once testing is complete and permanent transmissions will not commence until the service is formally launched by the broadcasters.

Under no circumstances should the test transmissions be considered an operational service.

Wouldnt make a whole lot of sense to shut it down but nothing would surprise me in Ireland

Got my Dtt Mpeg4 box today. Picking up Mullaghanish loud and clear, bearing in mind that while it's my main transmitter, it's 50 miles away as the crow flies. Signal strength 100% and signal quality 75%. Very impressed with picture quality, even very good analogue pictures look very poor in comparison. Roll on the official launch and in the meantime, RTE NL, keep the tests going and well done.

I was gonna merge, but that may confuse things a bit, with posts mixing thru each other.
