Can anyone get a proper quote for a 911, the online calc when you enter version says 997 from 04 onwards, there is no other option, if you put in a 00 car it gives vrt of 6k, nice and all but im guessing an error?

I'd say you will have to ring your local VRO to get a figure.

Welcometo VRTland - i mean Ireland. Sorry.

Op, the best thing to do is ring your local VRO to get a figure like Bazz said.

...nope, Porsche's are under a 'collectibles and classics' section, and you have to contact VRO, who contact Rosslare, who contact the Klingons....who guess a price and.........hey presto, there you are :D

Total, wild guess, but I'd say VRT on a 00 would be about........13.5k - 15k....

We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

    Had similar problem in '06.

Wanted to know the VRT on a '88 Porsche 928S4 before importing one. Nothing on ROS.ie VRT section so rang one of the offices. After giving the exact details of the car in question they said they would phone me back, no explaination on why I could not get an on line quote.

Believe it of not they did phone back and said 'around' €4-6,000. I explained €2k is big difference and why can't you give me the exact VRT? Answer ''we'll need to see the car'' and I inquired what difference will that make as I'd already given the full details on my original call. '' We have got to check the cars specification!

I gave up and bought a car that I knew what exact VRT costs would be incured.

Only from the VRO. Make sure you have a quote in writing (email) before you buy the car to avoid nasty surprises.
