Star/Magpul Economy Pmags

Well ordered 10 Star/Magpul pmags on Friday morning, arrived today in the post.

3 days shipping gets major thumbs up from me. Well done ehobbyasia.

The total cost for these including the express postage is roughly €70 for these ten 75 rnd mags.

They come in a nice green box with Star and Magpul clearly displayed.

Immediately you can see they are much glossier then the expensive pmags, and they feel a bit more plasticy. It should be noted that magpul have had a hand in making these, they are not clones, they are simply a less durable plastic. The pmags you pay €35 a pop for, can be run over with a car and then fire, these cannot. I do not know about you, but I dont plan on having my mags run over, aslong as they can hit the deck and work, I'm fine with that.

They look fantastic as pmags do, they fit into most stanag guns. Today they were put into just about everything in the shop and were nice and solid, but loose enough for a quick mag change.

They easily receive the 75 rounds as stated with the speedloader, unlike the REAL pmags which are very stiff on loading. This was tested on the ten mags, flawless.

Now for the real test, firing and feeding. Well I am happy to report every single mag fired every single bb, all 750 rounds were fired from these ten mags, not one jam, not one BB left in the mag. Absolutely marvellous. Not only that, they were especially quick and easy to reload.

I have a few pictures that I'll post up later. But from my experience with these, so far they are impeccable. Also to note, I dropped all ten, from 6 foot, onto a wooden floor, not even a scratch, so they are still durable enough pmags.

Obviously these have not been skirmished, but I'm confident they will perform fine. I'm out tonight and Sunday so I can give more details then, but if all goes well, I'll be buying another 10 in Dark Earth, and selling my old MAG mids :)

Its essentially, affordable gucciness for all :)

Doc, i hate you wanted pmag with ranger plates for a while, now i really want them. Stupid question would you fit two of them into a normal m4 mag pouch?

I don't know why i always think they look wider than normal stang mags

Well, i use single mag pouches in a triple layout, and they fit fine.

just a footnote to these mags ,
they do not fit a vfc 416 without serious modification to the mags

I'll second that - need a chunk cut off just at the bend.
They fit in all my other M4's but like Diceman said; needed to be modded for the VFC.
A quick cut with a bread knife and a respray sorted it for me.
    Perfect fit now.

They also do not feed properly in masadas, although that gun seems very picky with what mags I put in it.

    Feeds fine in everything else

The masada thing can be fixed with a bit of ye olde electrical tape, you need to put a couple of layers of tape on the back of the mag just before it gets to the textured part. This pushes the mag up so it'll feed. I'd be interested to try one of your VFC modded mags in my Masada Aiden, see if that mod does the same thing as the electrical tape job I did on mine, the tape basically goes opposite where you've filed the mag down.

Also, worth noting, don't even consider leaving bbs in these mags for more than a day or so, the springs don't like it at all. I have to leave all my mags for a week or two and hope the springs in em decide to start pushing bbs again. Hopefully a liberal helping of silicone oil and some tlc will do the trick. Fingers crossed.

Yep - ye never know, might fix it as well. We'll try em out next weekend at gtac.;)
