Scuffed rim - Repair?

Right, not sure if there is another forum for this kind of query, thought motors would be a good start.

Managed to scuff a rim off a kerb on saturday getting into a tight parking space on marlborough road. It was my first time scuffing one and I managed to pop my cherry big time. It's not the usual scratches around the rim of the alloy, rather a few deep gouges.

It's a BMW 05 X5 with the 5 spoke 19 inch (I think) alloys that come on the sport model.

I was wondering if anyone knows a place in Dublin that would do alloy repairs, or at least mask most of the damage, at a reasonable rate.

    Thanks in advance.

There's a place in Bray called Collins engineering. I've never used them, but there was a recent thread on the subject.

Did a similar thing only outside my house last week. not too bothered about appearance, but do scuffed allows corrode more or get worse or is it just a cosmetic thing?

I rang Collins Engineering today and asked that very question. The guy said that yes, the laquer will ultimately lift. He also tried to tell me that a small chip (which he hadn't seen) would result in an NCT fail though, which is complete bullsh1t. This kind of put me off using them.
