Has anyone listened to this yet?

I think it's excellent, definitely his best efforts since the Libertines disbanded. It's not as messy as Babyshambles two efforts and has all the highlights of those albums without the filler.

Favourite songs are: Arcady (this has been one of my favourite Doherty songs for years, great to hear a proper version of it complete with excellent Coxon guitar), Last of the english roses, Lady Don't fall backwards, New Love grows on trees, 1939 returning and A little death around the eyes. Oh, and Broken Love song.

If you liked the Libertines and Babyshambles you're bound to like this, but it could well change some people's minds about him. Some beautiful songs on it.

I really like the second babyshambles album, I got a good 8 months solid listening out of it. The first one was a disaster though. I only bought Grace/Wastelands two hours ago and while I'm still orienting myself to it I know it's the sort of Pete Doherty stuff that'll really grow on me.

Think its good but not great. Its well produced and well song, my favourite songs on it are sheepskin tearaway, lady don't fall backwards and I am the rain. But I think the b-side "through the looking glass" is better than anything on the album, Doherty has a habit of throwing away great songs as b-sides.

hate the second babyshambles album as well! yuck
I dunno if I like this that much, probably just need to get used to it cos it's so different to the acousticy stuff. I don't like the new arcady though!

I'm sad to say the more I listen to this album the less I like it. The song where the girl sings with him is terrible, her voice is awful. Ah well.

I'm an absolutly massive Doherty fan and have an obscene amount of his demos, acoustic **** etc. Been listening to most of these songs in demo format for years so have been looking forward to hearing the finished product for quite some time.

Gotta say 5 of the songs are absolutly top notch, Arcady, A little death around the eyes, sheepskin tearaway( although they could of made this a bit longer like the demo), Lady dont you fall backwards, new love grows on trees are all brilliant. Sweet by and by and broken love song took me by suprise in a good way. I actually dont really like Last of english roses, a proper full on acoustic version would of been better I think.

All in all a solid effort, backed up the brilliant Coxon. I definitely think so his detractors should take a listen to this, as it points out what his fans have loved him for for so long. Fragile, acoustic based songs that he sings brilliantly.

He doesn't have the voice to carry the songs. But unlike all his other efforts, it isn't entirely shambolic. I love the guitar work on some of the tracks.
