Insurance for a 1991 Jaguar XJS

    hello I just got the keys to one of my favorite cars its a 1991 6L v12 Jaguar XJS and now i have to go about getting it insured. Its a second car and will rarely be used so very limited milage would anyone know where would be best for insurance quotes.

    Sweet motor, well wear, you brave man :)

    Isn't the V12 a 5.3l? Anyway, there's a comprehensive thread on insurance in the sticky. Check it out! I would expect you will be able to insure the car on a classic policy, even though the car is only 18 years old (provided you are at least 25 yourself). Let us know how you're getting on.

    This is the big insurance thread mentioned in the Charter.

    You might be better off starting at the end, and working back!

    To get you started, call Carole Nash, First Ireland and AXA for quotes. Then have a look at that thread and see if you get any other suggestions.

    ah lads I love this site, just got a quote from First Ireland of €395 to cover 4k miles a year. Thanks for all your help. Ill post some Pics next week as shes going of for a good old polish to bring back that shine and will be back with me on Tuesday.

    There was also a 6.0 - the later ones XJRS I think

    I wouldnt mind the insurance,its the 1566euro road tax that would bother me.

    nice cars i have a 78 XJS V12 Too although mine is a 78 car the engine and running gear all came from a 1989 one hence all the toys that came with that model yet got the 48 euro tax thingy , i like mine lots and really like it its blood red sweet car ...........

    dont know how to add pics on here to be honest and also dont use photobucket or anything so again dont know how too

    You can attach pics to your post. Click "Post Reply" to start a new post. In th new window there is a button called "Manage Attachments". Click on it. Then in the new window click on "Choose" to browse to the picture on your computer. Once you've chosen the pic, click on "Upload" and "Submit Reply"
