Hi all & happy St. Pats.

Over the week end I was over in Ireland. I helpted my brother inlaw run a cable from RF 2 on his standard Grundig Sky box in the front room, with UK free to View card, up to the bed room. We set up the magic eye and have the aerial with 4 Irish channels running through the box as well.

Eye workes fine and picture and sound of Irish channels are perfect, the picture from the sky box is also perfect but no sound. Tryed RF1 same story, no sound. I aso changed the channel the sky box was out putting on but no joy.

We did not have an other Sky box to test so did not solve the problem. Any one have any suggestions.

Sounds like its a PAL problem! Usually when your getting picture and no sound you dont have the correct Pal setting selected on your TV. UK & Ireland use PAL I. Sometimes if PAL G is selected you'll get picture but no sound.

Try this, i dont think the sky box can be adjusted for different PAL outputs on the RF, so its possibly your TV

Emmm, actually not sure if thats the problem as your saying your getting the irish channels ok?

I think Snaps is rite by telling you to check the tuning menu of your tv and make sure then setting is on "Pal I" as you are more than likely storing the channel on a differennt sound freq such as pal g or pal dk etc....
