Was concidering getting this but I have a few questions.First of all is there a way around buying the charger?.The gun and battery is expensive enough as it is.Also what's the recoil like?.Is it strong, weak etc??.Would it be effective on the skirmish field??

    I'm in the queue too:)
But if the TM blowback AK in Eirsoft is anything to go by - it rocks. You need to try it to see for yourself, but I was very plesently surprised with the effect - much better than I'd expected.
    Cant wait for the sopmod...

Dont think there's anyway round the custom battery/charger but I dont know for sure. Dont forget the custom MAGs too! Not going to be cheap.

That VFc looks weird, whats so hot about it?

If the blowback on the m4 is the same as the ak, I would be well impressed, just waiting to see what the mag pricing is before i take the plunge

the sopmod comes with a bettery adaptor, althought you need tm batterys you can charge them with any conventional charger with a small female battery connection

Picked up 2 low caps on ehobby there coupla weeks back, when i was getting some other gear. They worked out at about 22 euro a mag plus whatever postage, think it was ems so it was low enough.

They're pricey enough no doubt about it, they are really solid looking mags, feels like full metal and noticeably larger than your standard m4 mags.

I'll be ready to rock when your esteemed boss eventually gets the m4 itself in for me though:D

I saw the Sopmod on RSOV and and it says it cames with a battery,so i added it to cart along with a 450rnd mag and another battery and with TNT 3-4 day shipping it came to €485.00.Is that reasonable? Also is that legit,RSOV selling the Sopmod because they mainly deal in ACM aeg's?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

add 25% to the price as you could be hit by customs and you might as well look to the uk or an irish retailor

on a side note going to all th trouble of getting a sopmod and then getting a hi cap for it is herasy :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,641 ✭✭✭zero19

Yeah you'd be mad to go with hi caps for one of those! I'd love one myself but i couldn't justify the price tag when i have car/girlfriend/tattoo/project gbb stuff to pay for...lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 982 ✭✭✭RC car fanatic

Price tag not a concern, selling my SR16 for 520 with heaps of extras and upgrades like metal body and gearbox etc. Also customs isnt a problem.

Is there any Irish retailer selling one with batteries and mags?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,641 ✭✭✭zero19

Jaysus it'd want to be some sr16 to fetch 520euros..

Gun itself was $420(€320)with shipping, then add 2 large batteries €40,then a metal body €60,then a silencer €15,then 2 Classic Army waffle mags €30,then a Battle axe 300rnd mag €20,then a tasco scope €20 and high mounts €10.Thats €520 and then an upgraded gearbox and a new metal hopup chamber. All that doesnt include customs charge which was €45.

Everything but the gun is practically brand new and the gun is in really good shape. The only problem would be a slight barell wobble but thats due to Tokyo Marui's barell design.Theres not even more that two small scratches on it and thats from skirmishing it.

I think €520 is reasonable but even €500 would be good.

You're adding customs charges and the cost of shipping onto the price of a gun you're selling second hand? Are you based in HK?

Didn't. know I added them, sorry.Well without them it would come to about €440?

I didn't add it all up mate, you mentioned them so I presumed you added them. It's too late for maths and I left my calculator in my other lab-coat.

ha no prob,by the way I'm not trying to rip anyone off but that I just don't know what to sell it for and am going by a bit below what I originally payed.

your normal lucky to get 60% of an orginal items value second hand, but anyway that off topic back to the sopmod, nice source of information http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=158786&st=180&start=180

This was originally a gun on the list for me, but having to buy all new m4 mags, has essentially put me off, and TM can go **** themselves really. Its a ****ing retarded decision, theres no way in hell im going to buy another 8 midcaps, that cost 20 dollars a pop or something.

wow thats a agressive responce, its not like anyone is fourcing you to buy anythings :) its very much like systema, you by the device to fit your playing style, its not somthing 98% of airsoft are going to go for but it does seem to have great performance and a strong following

yeah it just I actually did really want one, then I did a price tally, and its a serious amount of money, for another, armalite. The blowback does look impressive, and if its anything like the AK series of TM then yeah it is going to have decent recoil. But its just serious money, and the fact it couldnt be made to use normal stanag mags, just smells like money grabbing and annoys me : /

We were looking into these and an Irish retail price would be at least €579.99 based on the single wholesale price we got, nothing cheap about these badboys. The demand is definitely there, I just don't know if anyone is willing to part with so much cash.

Thats horribly expensive for an armalite, no matter what kind of bells and whistles it has...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

expensive aeg or cheap PTW, take your pick

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,341 ✭✭✭Fallschirmjager

personally, im waiting for version 2. i think its a stunning piece but there is a lot of new sparkly bits to go wrong. also since they dont really have any competition it is uber expensive. once we get some other companies making mags, parts, gearboxes i think it will drop...or rather at least i hope it does...

it looks stunning...and since i am an m4 slapper....its right up my street...i just could not justify that amount of money even to myself....

Well i got mine today and i can honestly say i cannot take the grin off of my face. Luckily i was off work today so i've already put maybe 4 or 500 rounds through it since the courier dropped it off. No misfires, stoppages, nothing, it's a beast of a thing!!

First off it's heavy, full metal and beautifully balanced, no barrel wobble extremely well put together as you'd expect from marui and nice authentic engravings on the receiver, just aft of the flashider and at the base of the magazine (for those of us who care about such things)

The battery in this is simplicity itself to install, just remove the back of the back of the stock and simply slot her in. The stock battery is an 8.4v, so you're not getting a really hefty rate of fire, maybe 10/11 RPS compared to over 15 that i get off my d boys m4 with a 9.6 but fellas on arnies have modded it to use an 9.6v with no real probs.

I suppose the most interesting aspect of this aeg is the recoil and it does have a kick especially in full auto, u actually have to concentrate to adjust your aim and compensate for the recoil. Now it's not the same kick as you'd get from say a WE GBB m4 but it's close and and damn good for an AEG.

As far as accuracy and firing is concerned it is good and i mean really good, consistantly hitting human size targets at 40+ metres and getting excellent groupings on a target at about 20+ metres. The hop on it is excellent as well and very easily adjusted. Out of the box it was chronoing 285-290ish, i haven't had a chance to fully disassemble it and give the barrell a good clean etc yet so that's only going to get better.

All in all I've got nothing bad to say about it, couldn't be happer. Is it expensive? sweet jesus yes, the way of the future in airsoft? me thinks so:)

Wow, it sounds fantastic and if its anything like the TM AK blowback that was in eirsoft - it will be amazing. Cant wait to get a look at one:eek::eek:

Fair play to you for splashing out - I reckon there will be many more to follow your lead...;) well me anyway!:D

Cheers lad!! u won't regret it trust me. I'll throw some pics up just as soon as my thieving sister gets back from college.

Forgot to mention also the simulated bolt catch feature is a beautiful little feature as well, allows for nifty realistic reloading. It stops u firing completely when the mag runs dry so u have to press it back in to fire again. I got low cap mags as well and u can switch em to real cap at the flick of a switch! Cool stuff:D
