Hey folks, i suspect that i may have some form of suspension or shocks problem.

In the last few weeks i have noticed the car is very twitchy over small bumps. Its nearly like driving on gravel as you feel momentarily that you've lost control. On the bigger bumps you can actually feel the car step out and have to make minor corrections. At the same time as this problem developed, I have noticed the most annoying knocking noise in the rear when going over anything other than a straight surface. I initially thought something was rolling around the boot, but having taken everything out, it appears to be elsewhere in the rear. I think both problems are connected.

Car is a 06 Vectra with 85,000 km. Its under lease with a main dealer, but having no confidence in there service department, i'd like to spell out to them what could be wrong, because if I explained the above they'd probably scratch there head and look confused.

Look underneath and see if your shockabsorbers have broken in half or take it to a garage and ask them to have a look.

    ^^
    what he said.
Sounds like anti roll bar bushes to me. normally if its the drop links etc the back will knock over small bumps.

Thanks for the replies folks, i'll say I think its the bushes when leaving it in to get sorted. I just wanted to be sure what I was experiencing was something specific and i wasn't imagining it.

Just as a quick update, it turns out that one of the rear shocks is fecked, so it'll have to be replaced.

Might be a plan to replace both rather than just the one.

Maybe, but its a leased car with an amount payed for maintenance each month, so I don't see the garage shelling out unless they have to.
