Right, I'm a long timer wearer of pumps, those rubbishy wafer thin ones that let you feel every pebble and crack in the pavement. I'm looking desperately for a decent pair of comfortable shoes with decent support for wearing casually...I don't mean anything in Penneys or even Schuh, because the support in their shoes is dreadful, and I suffered a nasty injury this christmas as a result of wear sh*te shoes.

So, I need something with the support of those mammy shoes (reiker etc) and the style of the ordinary. Normally wear skinnies, so that's another thing..what could i wear??

    Help, needed. urgently!

Camper often have nice little shoes. They very expensive but you pay for the comfort. There's a shop on Wickow St, Dublin.

know exactly what your going through! wore my cheap ass penneys flats for a week at christmas and i could barely walk afterwards! Chiropractor said it was the rubbishy shoes! (tell me something i dont know!)

My friend who also always wears pumps also was suffering last week and went into boots and bought some uber expensive/comfy insoles (think they were about 30e)..so maybe you could try that for the pumps you do have?

Have two pairs of these! They're very comfy and well made with a good thick sole. At 70 euro a pop they can be pricey (got one of my pairs on sale :p) but they're worth it, I think

Clarks, timberland or caterpillar shoes are great for comfort.

They are a bit clunkier than regular flat pumps, but i got a lovely pair from doc martens recently. They are these ones:

They are so much comfier to walk around in than my crappy canvas ones.

I know where you're coming from. I quite like flat shoes, but those ones from Penney's are just ridiculously bad. They're a false economy.

I just recently bought a nice navy patent pair of Kangaroo shoes in TK Maxx for only E12. You need a bit of a padded sole/heel for flat shoes to be truly comfortable.

Clark's are also great for these kind of shoes.

Some excellent ideas here, I guess I havent been looking in the right places. The amount of us wimmin who will end up with serious leg and back problems is ridiculous! But we still wear flimsy shoes. Like the look of the doc marten ones especially. I do have a pair of chunky rocket dogs I got in TK Maxx in the UK and they are great but they dont have anything like them in their current stock.

if you pay a bit more money for pumps theyre sooo much more comfortable. i went through a face of buying the 6euro penneys ones & wearing them for ages (wasnt the best plan in the rain). then i got a really nice pair of rocketdog ones with a thicker sole, theyre much more comfortable and last much longer.

something like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rocket-Dog-Radio/dp/B0010NUVS2 or http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rocket-Dog-Risky/dp/B001AQ59KE (both on the schuh website but i couldnt link to them)

    Woe is me. :o

Clarks or Next are great for comfees and they're pretty nice too. I bought a pair of gorgeous gladiator type sandles in Clarkes last year and I walked miles in them.
