    Hi,

I am keen to buy a Macbook Pro in the next few weeks. The following points are making me think i should wait a while.
    • Snow Leopard - will it be released soon ?
    • Blu-ray drive - anyone any idea will this be included ?
    • Matte screen - i guess it will arrive on the 15 inch model - is it better than the gloss screen ?

    Thanks for any tips.

I'd expect Snow Leopard to arrive in the summer, though there's been no date announced.

Apple has given no indication that they're going to start putting blu-ray drives in their laptops. They seem happier to push HD movie downloads.

Downloading movies is the future, not Blueray. No announcements on Snow Leopard yet so so I say buy now

I don't see whats wrong with the gloss screen, it's very nice for watching films. I haven't had any problems,( like reflected glare).

Glossy is useless for editing and colour-balancing photos/illustrations, although it's fine for other stuff.

The MPB and Powerbook G4 used to have matte screens as an option on both 15" and 17" models but now it is only available as a €50 option on the 17" model, so I wouldn't hold out much hope for it returning to the 15" model.

There is a matte option on the 17 Inch Pro, it costs 45 Euros.

more than likely the next MBP will be more expensive than the current model.

I'm getting the new 17" mbp next week. I can always buy Snow Leopard when it comes out.

My G4 PowerBook has lasted five years. It's still rocking hard but just isn't able to handle CS4 and new rendering software like Maxwell.
