    Hi, Im just wondering does anybody know if rent allowance will cover a deposit on a new rented accomodation?

    As far as i know it is up to you to provide your own deposit, but if you have been on the council housing list for a long time the council may help you with the deposit.

    Only in exceptional needs cases as far as I am aware, you'd probably need to ask your local cwo.

    AFAIK they dont usually cover the deposit - that is up to you.

    Thanks people. I didnt get the deposit covered. My CWO welfare said it is only in certain cases.
