car dealership question

I'm looking to get a cheap car for maybe under €1000, but I have no money at all. I was wondering if I went to a car dealership, is there any way I can give a small deposit and then pay the rest weekly or monthly for a few months. I just don't have €1000 to hand, but I would be able to pay a small amount weekly or monthly.

p.s my mum tried banks for a personal loan but they are just too fussy about giving out money, especially during the recession and the credit union wants us to pay like €50 for the next few weeks before they CONSIDER a loan.

That sounds like the best way forward to me. I assume you've factored in insurance, road tax, fuel, maintenance/repair costs etc?

Even if it could be done, I wouldn't recommend it.

A cheap car bought on a shoestring is highly likely to have some "issues". You will have to pour money into it at the most inconvenient times to fix this, that and the other. Most likely you will find yourself at some stage with a car that is three quarters paid for and just rendered useless by an unaffordable necessary repair ...then you end up still paying for it while not being able to use it.

Also, there would be the normal running cost (fuel, tax, insurance) which also costs a bundle.

If you're absolutely strapped for cash, a car is the last thing you want to pour your meagre resources into.

Try saving some money first before you buy a car.

    So True.

OP, you can't afford to buy a car at the moment, so don't try to. When you have 1k saved and can afford insurance/tax/fuel etc then it's time to buy.

Reading through your previous posts, you really are rushing into buying your first car.

Have you thought about getting lessons and getting your test done? This would give you the chance to save some cash and then save money on your insurance when you get your car?
