So out for my run today and half way through i knew what was coming. \\i could feel the stomach churning. Nothing big though. Happened 2 or 3 more times then WHAM. I HAD TO GO!!!! Nowhere near home. Lots of people about because of a band parade so i run and run and then i go to this area well covered by trees and ... well you no the drill:cool:

So not the most comfortable run but felt great later!! Any advice on avoiding the bid trots?Any similar stories?

advoid coffee, dairy products. Also make sure you have hydrated before you run... not just the hrs leading up to ur run but the day before also..

when you are running for long periods of time your blood moves to your vital organs to help them cool... your bowel is not so vital... with little blood to the bowel... well you know what happens.. so hrdrating will help in this case

Good advice esp on the coffee. I was getting this last year but it stopped thankfully. Also: don't eat within 4 hours of your runs if you're getting this. Long run is the main danger - get up early and do your jobbie before you head out, don't bother with breakfast you'll be grand. Also might be worth looking at your iron intake: I had to change my iron tabs - changed from ferrograd C which was a bit harsh for me to some feminine type product with a picture of a lady on the front which seems a bit lighter. Lastly: Bring some bog roll in your pocket!
