Hi, i passed my test last Wednesday and was wondering what the situation is now with my insurance. I am 29, bought the car last July(06 Toyota Corolla). I paid 1700 for Insurance for the year which has to be renewed this coming July. What are my options?

Ring your insurance company and tell them that you passed your test, you may get a small refund.

Then when it comes to July, shop around and haggle

If you send them a copy of the licence they may give you a reduced premium till then, or refund you a cheque if you have already paid it full

Give your insurance company a shout, they may refund a small amount of your premium because you passed your test. I'd imagine your insurance next year will be in or around €1000 or less.

Ring them up and let them know, I did it the day I passed (dropped in with a photocopy of the certificate of competency) and I got back €200.
