I'm reading a pretty awesome book at the moment called Blindness, it's about the whole world turning blind. It kinda got me in to the mood to watch a movie about epidemics, but the only one I could think of was Outbreak which is a bit on the dodgy side. Any others?

edit: I love 'em and all but no zombie movies k thx!

lol...didn't know they made a movie out of it, and I thought as I was reading it that someone is bound to.

Watched the trailer but I don't know if I want to spoil the book...it doesn't look great.

Not entirely sure as i have only seen partial trailer clips but Quarantine? I could be way off with this one ,could be an out and out horror for all i know! But yeah the first thing i thought of was Outbreak aswell!

no they aren't the undead, they just have a crazy infection that drives them to act like zombies on speed

Well people become invested with a virus called rage. This virus does exhibit many common symptoms associated with zombies :pac:

Saying this no no its not a "zombie" movie :) You never hear living-dead uttered in the film but instead the people are "infected" and a new word for what these people have is "rage".

I can see why you made the mistake of thinking its a zombie film :p

How are creatures from another dimension an epidemic

How about I am Legend, Twelve Monkeys or The Andromeda Strain

At the moment we have an unemployment epidemic.

Guess what sometimes the same word can be used in many many contexts.

It would be the same way in which Zombie movies are often referred to by people in this sense but seeing as the OP stated no zombie movies i suggested this as to my knowledge i don't remember seeing a zombie.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers would kind of fall in to that category.

    Also, The Faculty:)

The Andromeda Strain - about the race to stop an epidemic before it starts.

Stick to the books, man. Richard Matheson's novel 'I Am Legend' is superior to all of the filmed versions. 'Outbreak' was on telly a coupla weeks ago and it IS pants (in spite of the cast). Avoid 'Quarantine' and watch the original spanish version, '[REC]', instead. Most of the rest, '28 Days....' etc.....take place in the aftermath of epidemics rather than during a race to stop them.
