Since there are a few south easterners here I thought I'd start a skyfest thread. So who attended? Get your pics out!

Just in case anyone doesn't realise, Skyfest photos are eligible for the St Patrick's Festival photo competition. More info on http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055499996...

    Yes... upload them here: http://pix.ie/group/stpatricksfestival/upload

Not sure when winners are announced... but I believe closing date is 26th March.

Entrants will retain full copyright in their submitted entries. However, by entering the competition the entrant grants to the Promoter a royalty free, irrevocable, perpetual licence to publish and use the entry in any and all media (including print and online) for promotional and publicity purposes. The candidate waives all moral rights they may have to their submissions as a condition of entry. Where appropriate, the Promoter shall make reasonable endeavours to provide entrants with attribution either via a link back to their photo on Pix.ie or by adding the photographer's name to credits.

The part in bold, should I be worried about that?

If you are a professional photographer with plans to sell you're photos on a commercial basis then yes this clause would worry me as you will not receive payment for reproduction by the festival organisers if they use your photos in their promotional campaigns. This doesn't stop you from selling your photos to anyone else, it just means the festival organisers are asking if they can have permission to use them.

If however you are an amateur photographer who might appreciate being officially recognised for your work and don't mind contributing the photos you have taken to the marketing efforts of this not for profit organisation, then no I wouldn't be worried...

It really depends on your point of view. The competition is brilliant and prizes are cool. Totally up to you :)

BTW: You will notice that in all other threads this clause has been highlighted so as to provide full transparency.

I'm amazed Freddie to see no shots from you given you have a 450D if memory serves me right?

Yeah Cabaal, it was the very last shot that i took that came out the best of those 3 little guys, mind you that is a 100% from the original. Should really have tried to get a bit closer and then might have gotten something a little bigger/better. Not to worry though, happy enough with the ones i got, just wish i had a good wide angle lens to be able to get the river in too like on your shots.
