    Hi,

It's the second time that my garmin 305 switches itself off during a spin, with plenty of battery left in it. It happenned last week and this morning. Is it because I am not challenging it enough and won't work unless I put in a real effort?

Has that happened to anyone else?

    Cheers :)

I remember reading a thread a while ago about it. I think it has to do something with the battery losing temporary the connection to the unit when you hit bumps on the road.. but thats all the help i can offer :)

Maybe try a full reset (hold mode + reset/lap) then give it a full charge
Had a similar issue a while back and this sorted it out, as it seems to do with every other garmin issue, strangely enough...
