In Carndonagh at the moment for long weekend recommend beach and best time of day

Hi, as the title says in carndonagh at the moment, spent around 3 hours today checking out beach's to surf tullagh pollan binion and culdaff but the surf was a mess. Can anyone recommend a beach with the current weather conditions there is 3 of us and we are all beginners but have surfed good bit just not competent really…
