    Seriously - he is:
Professional wrestler Dave Bautista has filmed a cameo role on Neighbours while in Melbourne to promote the upcoming WWE tour.

The World Wrestling Entertainment star, known to fans as 'Batista', dropped by the Neighbours studios earlier this week to film a number of scenes with resident Ramsay Street wrestling enthusiasts Toadie (Ryan Moloney) and Callum (Morgan Baker).

Bautista is the latest in a long line of celebrities to cameo on the soap.

Late last year, Dutch violinist André Rieu and indie band The Wombats also filmed cameos with the series.

Last year I had the opportunity to write up the introduction for a member of the inaugural Boards.ie hall of fame class in Eddy Guerrero (R.I.P). This year as D2D Was again looking to get people on board to help with write up I said i'd offer my help again but suggested that if my favourite wrestler of all time wasn't inducted this time that maybe a new writer should be given preference. As I'm writing this now I guess it's obvious that this is the guy that I've always considerd my fav and despite being a smark/PW Mod etc He is still a man that I'm willing to admit can make me Mark out even to this day.

He is a man who to me defines Professional Wrestling and one who goes under many monikers. The man that I would like to welcome into the Boards.ie PW hall of fame is none other than the conscience of the WWE, The Phenom, The Last Outlaw, The American Bad Ass, The Demon from Death Valley, The Lord of Darkness, The man who will make you famous, The Deadman...
    The Undertaker
    Mark Calaway

among his accolades are the following as noted on Wikipedia but even this impressive list does not do the man justice:
Calaway is an eight-time world champion: a four-time WWF/E Champion and three-time World Heavyweight Champion as The Undertaker, and a one-time USWA Unified World Heavyweight Champion as Master of Pain. The Undertaker is also a one-time WWF Hardcore champion, and a seven-time world tag team champion: a six-time WWF World Tag Team Champion, and one-time WCW World Tag Team Champion. The Undertaker was the winner of the 2007 Royal Rumble and became the first man to win the Rumble at number 30. He has been named by WWE as the greatest big man of all time.[6] Calaway is also the only active wrestler who appeared on the company's very first RAW program, who is still with WWE today.

Taker becomes the first active singles wrestler to be inducted into the Boards.ie PW hall of fame. The reason's behind why that's the case are numerous and varied as his illustrious career has spanned over 25 years, ever since his WCCW debut as Texas Red. It was his WWE debut however that leads me to suggest he can define Pro Wrestling as it was then that the world was introduced to argueably the greatest Gimmick in PW history.
    wwe-debut_288x288.jpg

Making his in ring TV debut at Survivor series as Ted Debiase's mystery partner where he took out stars such as Koko B Ware and Dusty Rhodes he immediatley grabbed the audiences attension. The appearance of The Undertaker's first Deadman persona was modeled after a mortician from old Western movies, wearing a trench coat and black hat with grey gloves and boot covers. Under this Deadman persona, he was impervious to pain, something accomplished by Calaway no-selling his opponents' attacks. Calloway has always been very protective of his Gimmick no matter how it has evolved, however he has always been portrayed (outside of his American Bad-Ass phase) as being undead. No matter how many cartoonish characters were around the world of PW at the time his stood out to me (and so many others) for one reason among many. His Character essentially became the answer to the is it real/it's not real arguement as nobody actually thought he was Dead but they still got into and truely enjoyed his portrayal of Deadman. He was a sports entertainer before the term even existed!

His unique character also gave the writers a blank slate with regards to the creation of a backstory and after teaming up with "his father" Paul Bearer in a managerial role the WWF struck gold with the introduction of his brother Kane.
    kane4.jpg.gif_320_320_256_9223372036854775000_0_1_0.gif

being a lazy b*llocks im quoting wikipedia again here
Bearer announced that The Undertaker was a murderer, who as a child had burned down the family funeral home business (where Bearer worked), killing his parents and his younger half-brother. The Undertaker claimed there was no way for Bearer to have that information, but Bearer announced that he was told this by Undertaker's half-brother Kane, who was still alive but horribly burned and scarred. Bearer raised Kane after the fire, having him institutionalized. Now, Kane was waiting for revenge after all these years. In defense, The Undertaker responded that Kane, a pyromaniac, had been the one to set the fire and could not have possibly survived.

Guess taker was wrong about that one eh?

His feud with Kane has been off and on for years and is one of the more talked of feuds in WWF/E history, it also brought a lot more depth to The Undertaker character. Although their matches didnt always result in the greatest wrestling in a traditional form they did keep the target audience gripped and along with some of Takers darker moments cemented him as a reason to watch for much of the promotions audience.

This darker persona i'm elluding to saw him in 1999 form the Ministry of Darkness as he developing a more evil, Satanic and frightening character. During this time he went under The Lord of Darkness name and drove the censors wild with antics such as crucifixtions on people such as Stephanie McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
    TheTrashCrucified.jpg

Taker is also the king of Gimmick Matches having taken part in everything from Submission and TLC matches to Inferno matches including most notably numerous Casket and Hell in a Cell matches. This most memorable of all these Gimmick matches would have to be His Hell in a Cell match with Mick foley, who he had a long feud with as Mankind, at King of the Ring 1998. Like his gimmick this match stands alone for me as nearly the ultimate comeback to the it's not real arguement. That night nothing ever felt more real than PW, the lines were truely blurred and nobody knew what was coming next, everyone was gripped and the despite nearly killing his opponent the major heel undertaker became the Ultimate face simply by being so fkn awesome and his charcter fitting so well. The fans chanted his name as he was lifted along with the cell above the ring and looked down at the carnage below.... a screw it I'm not going to try and sum it up, only JR is worthy of that so here it is.

Its kinda hard to get too specific when recapping a mans entire career and in doing so saying why he is a worthy member of our Hall of fame. There are many thinks im not going to really delve into like how he is a leader backstage, how he has worked through real pain on numerous occasions to give the best possible performance's he could. He also showed in his American Badass days particularily that he truely was very capable on the Microphone also. However on thing that I have to touch on especially give the time of year is his Wrestlemania winning Streak. He is currently 18-0 at WM a feat which has never and I would suggest will never be duplicated.

This streak has seen him take on and defeat such names as Jake Roberts, Diesel, Sycho Sid, Kane, HHH, Ric Flair, Randy Orton, Batista & Edge. It also culminated when in the past two year He took on Shawn Michaels in what has been oft described as a work of Art at WM 26. The stakes were even higher the following year in their WM rematch in a Career vs Streak match that saw the end of HBK's WWE career. That streak is likely to become 19-0 this sunday as HBK best bud HHH has his own second go at the streak but no matter what happens this stallwart of the Wrestling industry is much deserving of his place in the Boards.ie Hall of fame.

    Welcome to BWA Raw!
    raw.gif

As The show begins JR & Leno run down the thus far announced KOTR card paying special attension to the match he has personal involvement, they then announce tonights main event as a big six man tag match between with Jerry Lawler, Mitsuharu Misawa and the WHC Rikidozan taking on Harley Race, Kenta Kobashi and the No.1 Contender Ricky Steamboat. They are interupted however by the unscheduled arrival of Sid Vicious, accompanied by Jenna Jameson and he cuts a promo on Bobby Lashley, who he says had no place in his ring last monday night. He completely runs down Lashley's foray into MMA before turning his attension to his apparent PW and calling his claim to being a 2 time world champion a joke. He calls the former WWE's ECW brand to have been a joke and as there champ he was nothing but a glorified mid carder.

Leno starts backing up his friend now calling Sid a big man saying all this when he knows Lashley (whom he mentions is having his in ring BWA debut tonight) is yet to arrive to the arena tonight. It's at this point that Sid's attension seems to turn towards the commentary booth. He looks straight at Leno and calls him Lashley's parrot, microphone still in hand he leaves the ring and goes right up into Leno's face standing infront of the commentary booth and starts berating him. He says that Leno has gotten to live a dream and have a front row seat for the best promotion around, but that he got gready. He says that Jenna was right though the biggest match he could have at King of The Ring was this one because not only would ESPN and every other major news outlet be showing him beating Leno's friend on replay afterwards, they would also be showing this.
    tve75250-19920405-1877.gif

Then with a manic look on his face Sid grabs Leno from the announce table and despite Jameson's cries of protest (she can be hear pleading with him saying, dont put your match in jepordary) rams him head first into the ring steps, then as Leno tries grabs his head in pain lying in a heap against the steps Sid gives him a big kick to the ribs before finally perhaps listening to Jameson who ushers him up the rampway which is moments later filled with medical personal and backstage staff as Leno is helped to the back and eventually replaced by Michael Cole.

When things finally calm down our first match of the evening is introduced.

Opener: Ultimo Dragon & Cheerleader Melissa vs The Great Sasuke & MsChif

Just like last week this weeks opener involvs the recently returned BWA Diva's on opposing sides as ultimo Dragon and The Great Sasuke continued thei rivalry. The IC champion Jushin Liger makes his way down to ringside mid match to watch this one and it is his presence at ringside that later leads to the matches conclusion. This is because when Ultimo Dragon has Sasuke in a single leg boston crab the ref gets right up close to Sasuke asking if he submits however due to that he misses Liger reaching into the ring and grabbing Sasuke's free foot putting him into an ankle lock. Sasuke quickly taps to the double maneuver and Liger immediatley releases his hold and not a moment too soon as after a quick glance at Dragon and his boston crab the ref calls for the bell and the decision.

    Winners: Ultimo Dragon & Melissa
    1198066012_f.jpg

After the match MsChif gets in the ring livid with referee and complains that Liger got involved, she gets so involved that she doesnt notice Melissa behind her and the cheerleader grabs and tosses her out of the ring and onto her ass outside before making a belt gesture around her waist. The crowd cheer big for this as Cole says the is a clear fan favourite for this Sundays KOTR Diva bout, but that he hopes The Dark Diva MsChif, doesent spoil the party.

Backstage Segment: Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat is asked by Josh Matthews about tonights big main event only 1 week from when he will face Rikidozan. Ricky says that despite all Rikidozan's talk of Steamboat being not on his level the champ knows that unlike when he attacked him last week in a fair fight Steamboat can beat Rikidozan and that if Rikidozan has the guts to take him on the form that wrestling is supposed to take, 1 on 1, man on man, may the best man win, that he would beat him tonight, at King of the Ring and on every other night!

As we return to ringside we see a Cage being lowerd down around the ring as a brief recap of the tag series so far is shown. After this we get a brief update on Leno's condition. He was seen by the doctor in the back and although he has no broken bones and seems to have avoided any serious injuries luckily he has gone to hospital as a precaution.

4th match in the best of 5 series - Cage Match: The Public Enemy vs The Briscoes

This is one of those matches that really makes you wonder if all four men are really going to make it to the KOTR PPV as it's hell for leather from the off with the cage being used as a weapon on numerous occasions. At one point the public enemy seem to be in control with both members of the Briscoes down after a double bulldogs, This is when Rocco Rock begins to climb the cage while Grunge keeps their opponents grounded. As he reaches the top he calls for his partner to follow him before heading to the matt below. 1 man is out all they need is the other to follow suit and it seems he is about to do so as he too ascends the cage while Rock on the outside actually temporailly joins JR & Cole on commentary bragging about how easy it has been for them tonight. Unfortunatly for him moments later both Briscoe brother shoot up to their feet and jump up onto the ring ropes using the cage as support. they grab at his legs but Grunge makes it to the top of the cage.

Rock quickly jumps up from the commentary booth though as Jay Briscoe joins Grunge on the top of the cage, the two exchanging rights and teeting on the top, teasing potentially falling both into and out of the cage. In a strange turn of events Rocco pulls two tables out from under the ring and sets them up under where the two are figthing, he then pulls up one of the protective mats from ringside and places it across them. He then starts shouting at his tag partner to jump down onto the table. The commentaters are skeptical that could sufficently break his fall but as Mark briscoe joing him and Jay ontop of the cage Johnny shocks the live audience by jumping off the structure and onto the coverd table. He along with the mat go through the wood as the silenced audience are informed that the winners are The Public Enemy by announcer Howard Finkel.

    Winners: The Public Enemy
    PublicEnemy2.jpg

After the match The Briscoes sit atop the cage looking dejected and surprised at what just transpired as Johnny Grunge is helped to his feet by Rocco below them. It seems the mat must have somewhat broken his fall as during what is a Mick Foley esque assisted walk from the ring the slowly recovering fans start a "Public Enemy" chant as their theme tune plays. The commentaters talk about how The Public Enemy have just showcased exactly what being BWA tag team champs means to them but question exactly what condition they will be going into King of the Ring, finally as we go to commercial Cole ponders what the stipulation will be in that match saying it'l be heard to beat this match, here he also recaps how Jay Leno was also sent to hospital at the hands of Sid Vicious earlier tonight pointing out how anything and everything can happen at any given moment in the BWA.

    *Commercial break*

Backstage Segment: Backstage Todd Grisham is interviewing The Cheerleader Melissa and Jenna Jameson about their potential Strip show as he put it at King of the Ring. Melissa talks about how much of an privilege it is for her, that a women she admires as much as JJ is willing to join her in her KOTR vow. Jameson is in the middle of returning the compliment saying that Melissa is the exact type of Diva the BWA needs to bring the attitude back but she is interupted by Bobby Lashley who comes charging into the area. He says he needs to talk to Jenna about what happened to Leno and the two leave as does Melissa leaving Todd with no interview. He however gets some news in his earpiece and quickly heads around the corner to where The Briscoes are talking to each other having just returned from the ring. Todd trys to get them to talk to him but they arent interested in anything he is to say until he tells them that he has just learned the stipulation for the best of 5 series finale this Sunday. It will be a TLC match!
    evo%20tlc%20match.jpg

now The Briscoes speak up, saying that The Public Enemy earned their respect tonight by doing whatever they had to to earn their right to fight in that match at King of the Ring but they say there is no way they will be going into the PPV at 100% and because of this they wont be walking out after the TLC match with the tag team titles, and that they assure him.

BWA in ring debut: Bobby Lashley vs local Jobber

To put it simply Bobby looks p!ssed throughout this one and drags it out far longer than it needs be with JR suggesting that Lashley is taking his fury out on his opponent tonight after what happend to his friend Jay Leno earlier tonight thanks to Sid. He hits a spear, a chokeslam and finishes with his running powerslam Dominator in a dominant display.

    Winner: Bobby Lashley
    bobbylashley2.jpg

After the match Lashley grabs a Mic and screams into it "Sid, you will pay for what you did tonight. you will pay more than you could ever imagine! he then drops the mic exits the ring and stomps up the ramp into the backstage area.

    backstage Segment:

In Ring Segment: The JYD who has seemingly composed himself this week accompanies Lawler to the ring for the main event which is a 6man tag match but before anyone else comes out he gets on the Mic and challenges Blact Tiger, or whomever is masquerding as Black Tiger to come out here and make this an 8 man tag. He waits for a response but it seems clear none is coming as Lawler's tag partners for the night emerge as Mitsuharu Misawa and the BWA WHC, the dominant Rikidozan

Main Event: Rikidozan, Misawa & Jerry Lawler vs Steamboat, Kobashi & Harley Race

Once again this match showcases the real rivalries between the superstars involved in this Sundays King of the Ring despite the fact that they are mostly kept away from their opponents for that PPV due to tonights tag element. It's the seventh man at ringside however who makes the difference as this one nears its conclusion and his sponsor Jerry Lawler is in ring against the man he thinks he should be no.1 contender ahead of Ricky Steamboat. After Lawler hits a belly to belly suplex on Steamboat sending him flying into the oppositions corner where his KOTR opponent Rikidozan gets a few cheap shots in. As the ref gets in the champs face, the JYD throws the royal sceptre that Harley Race came to the ring with into Lawler before he and Mitsuharu Misawa rush Kobashi & Race taking them to the outside. Inside the ring Rikidozan succesfully keeps the refs attension as Steamboat rises to his feet only to be dropped to the mat again by a swift blow to the head from the sceptre which is quickly tossed to the outside. The Ref turns around as Lawler comes over to his corner and tags in the world heavyweight champion, at the same time Misawa & JYD are retreating back to their corner. Kobashi & Race try to get back up onto the apron and into the ring in time but before they can Rikidozan stands with his foot atop Steamboats chest looking down on his now blood covered face as the ref makes the 3 count.

    Winners: Rikidozan, Misawa & Lawler
    rikidozan3.jpg

Leno assaulted, Johnny Grunge off the cage through a table and now Steamboat lying bloody in the ring, Will King of the Ring see retribution for these actions or more of the same, find out this Sunday!

The card for BWA: King of The Ring 2011 is shown before the show goes off the air
    7yO.png

    Later that night....
    6a00e5536b2ba98833012876d766e0970c-500wi

As the show begins we are told Jay Leno will not be there tonight as he has been orderd to stay in hospital overnight after his ordeal earlier tonight. We are told however that he will make an appearance later in the show via Skype but that the Guest host for tonight would be none other than Jerry "The King" Lawler
    Lawler--1-400.jpg

Jerry interviews the WHC Rikidozan about his title defense this Sunday and after when he finally gets a word in edge wise between the King claiming credit for the champs victory tonight and his claim that he is better than the current no.1 contender the champ has a lot to say. In what was another personal attack on Steamboats credability amongst a number of things he said that was translated for the audience is that Ricky Steamboat isnt good enough to wear the BWA's most prestigious belts. He says only the best of the best are only usually given the opportunity to challenge for this belt, he calls Steamboat an exception, he says he is only placating the fans by even allowing him in his ring. Hulk Hogan and Bruno SanMartino held this belt before him held this belt and Steamboat even the fans that chant your name everyweek know your not as big a name as those two and as I proved when I killed Hulkamania and sent him packing from the BWA I'm a level above.

Lawler also interviews his friend and the man he sponsers The Junkyard Dog who demands that whoever has been tormenting him, dragging up his past and masquerading as Tiger Mask unmasks himself before he faces him at King of the Ring, a night when he says he will excursize a lot of demons.

Thats the end of his BWA guests for the night but Jerry is extatic to announce that Leno's first planned non wrestling guests were actually arranged with the help of BWA Diva Jenna Jameson and are the Girls of club Jenna.
    1185.jpg
    "Show us your crown Jerry"

It seems Jerry has had a great night hosting and now he has the opportunity to thank the man responsible for this Jay Leno as he joins him via skype from a New York hospital.

Leno thanks the King right back for his hosting job tonight and even makes a comment about the most recent tweet from the man who's identity he reminds everyone he will reveal at BWA: King of the Ring.

    http://twitter.com/#!/BWABountyHunter
Hope Lawler keeps his mind on King of the Ring cos now it looks like Club Jenna are all he's thinking about... I Still havent heard from MNG

After this Leno assures everyone that he has been given the doctors ok to be at King of The Ring and will be on commentary with JR. Then when Lawler questions him about Sid's attack on him Leno has this to say "I could have pressed charges against sid, He could be sitting in a jail Cell right now, what he did to me went outside Professional wrestling and were the actions of a classless thug but he will get his comuppance, he will pay, Bobby Lashley will destroy him, and i'll be there in his corner to see the whole damn thing upfront. He then tells Lawler that, that is something he guarantees and urges everyone to tune in to see it Live.

    Welcome to BWA Raw!
    raw.gif

As Raw hits the Air we are shown a recap of last weeks action ending with Jay Leno's announcements later that night on his Show which includes the first 3 official matches for BWA King of the Ring (below) and the fact that Leno has been allowed to reveal the BWA chairmans identity at the same PPV:
    KOTR Semi-Finals:

King vs King: Jerry Lawler vs Harley Race
former best friends/tag partners: Kenta Kobashi vs Mitsuharu Misawa

Bobby Lashley w/Jay Leno vs Sid Vicious w/Jenna Jameson

When we return the Pyro's go off as JR welcomes us to Monday Night Raw and almost immediatley Jenna Jameson's music hits and the most famous porn star on the planet makes her way out to the ring. Jenna singles out Leno on the announce team saying it seems he isn the world class journalist he claims to be as she says the man who will be in the opposing corner to he at the King of the Ring forgot there was already a challenge made for a BWA title for the next PPV a number of weeks back, before his involvement with the BWA even began. She says she is of course talking about the BWA Diva's, the division that Jenna said she aimed to bring the attitude back into. At this point she introduces another recap video but this time one which recaps the past year in the BWA womens division stretching all the way back to BWA:Re-Awakening.
    Jenna_Jameson_pregnancy.jpg
At BWA:Re-Awakening the following match took place with Aja Kong winning the BWA unified womens belt (It was unified with MsChif's shimmer title at the time)
Aja vs Awesome Kong vs Ms Chif vs Cheerleader Mellisa vs Lacey Von erich

After winning an impressive submissing match against Awesome Kong MsChif earned the right to try and get her title back as she became the no.1 contender. Around the same time Lacey was posing for Playboy (a few months later Lacey was fired for a lack ot in ring talent).

MsChif then defeated the then longest serving BWA wrestler Aja Kong for the gold at Summerslam/ She was once again cvery impressive but many said she wouldent have gotten the win if not for her Melischif partner Cheerleader Melissa.

In the following months MsChif reigned as the womens champion but started refering to herself as The Queen of the BWA, or The Dark queen of the Divas. Then at Survivor Series MsChif championship was put on the line in what was to be known as the first Quit or Queen match. It was an I Quit match where the winner would walk out the Queen of the BWA while the loser would simply have to walk out of their BWA contract. It was a rematch against Aja Kong and this time the Dark queen proved herself worthy of her title beating her opponent while Melissa was banned from Ringside. The following month She faced Awesome Kong in the same type of match and again was victorious however this time she did need her tag partner to interfere in the match to get the job done.

After that the team of Melischif continued to team and together won entry to a international tag tournament being held in Tokyo (The reason for their absence the past 2 weeks) but when they were in the BWA MsChif refused to give Melissa the only other remaining active Diva on the roster a shot at the championship, instead bringing in top talent from the indies to beat once a month on PPV. Eventually this became too much for Melissa and her frustration boiled over a few weeks back as the team of Melischif essentially ended. The two came to blows in the ring after MsChif informed her she would once again be taking on an indie talent and not her at the next PPV, and after the altercation Melissa challenged MsChif to a Quit or Queen match at the next PPV. The clip then ends briefly showing how in perhaps their final ever outing as a tag team Melischif won the Tokyo tournament before brawling all over the arena once they were announced champions.
    alissaflash.jpg

As The Video ends Cheerleader Melissa makes her way out to the ring minus the cheerleader getup but as JJ later says is looking hot. Jenna hands her the mic and exits the ring as Melissa directs a message directly towards MsChif. She says she beat her ass all over the Tokyo dome last week and she will beat her ass all over Madison Square Garden in 2 weeks at KOTR if she has the guts to face her. She says she wants an answer to her challenge tonight, but first hopes MsChif has a tag partner ready as she plans to beat her ass all around the arena tonight too. The Crowd seem to have really gotten into her promo as her intergender tag partner for tonights opener makes his way out to the ring Kenta Kobashi

Match 1: Kenta Kobashi & Cheerleader Mellisa vs MsChif & Mitsuharu Misawa

The real anamosity between the combatants in this match up is clear to see from the get go but this is a relatively even encounter for the most part with neither side looking to have any major psychological advantage as we approach the King of The Ring PPV. That changes however with the finish which she's MsChif and Melissa going at it in ring. MsChif catches Melissa with her "Desecrator" Scissored DDT but doesent go for the pin and instead tags in Misawa. Once that tag is made under BWA rules Kobashi is now the legal man also as Intergender contact is forbidden and he rushes into the ring to protect his tag partner. However as he enters the ring MsChif catches him with her Green Mist and he is sent blindly stumbling into Mitsuharu Misawa and his Tiger Driver, 1-2-3 and we have our winners.

Winners: Ms Chif & Mitsuharu Misawa

After the match MsChif and Misawa continue to beat down on their opponents until Security force them out of the ring, before departing MsChif poses above Melissa holding her unified BWA womens crown (title). MsChif then grabs a mic and screams "you want an answer tonight, you want an answer from me!, The Queen will make you quit at King of the Ring, there is your answer!

Backstage segment: Jenna Jameson is backstage talking to Cheerleader Melissa who informs us that Kobashi twisted his ankle in the beatdown we just witnessed but she is uninjured and seeking retribution). Melissa says she is inspired by Jameson who she describes as a Strong Confident woman and says that she too wants to bring the attitude back to the BWA Diva's. Infact she goes as far as to state that in honour of the BWA's move to HBO at the King of The Ring PPV when she beats her former partner mschif she vows she will strip in the center of the ring to celebrate. Jameson looks shocked but impressed as the BWA crowd can be heard going mad at the concept she is proposing. It's clear to see who's corner they will be in as the BWA goes live on HBO for King of the Ring.

Elsewhere Junkyard Dog is frantically searches through the backstage area babbling something about how he is looking for Black Tiger. Once again it is up to his sponsor Jerry Lawler to calm him down.
    Junkyard_Dog.jpg

In ring segment: The Public Enemy make their way to the ring and talk about how after they easily took the tag team titles slamming Mark Briscoe through a table 2 weeks ago, maybe just maybe they took the briscoes lightly last week. They say that wont be the case tonight!

3rd match in the best of 5 series - Straight Tag match: The Briscoes vs The Public Enemy

Another very tight match up which showcase how little there seems to be between these teams and when a winner does come it happens so sudden and unexpectidly that most people dont quite understand what happened, it is however replayed on the titantron as the commentaters explain the refs decision. It seems that after targeting Mark Briscoes back (which the commentators suggest could still be hurting after going through that table) with Diving Leg and Elbow drops, Rocco locked in an armbar. Briscoe tried to elevate himself to relieve the pressure and then much to everyones surprise the ref counts to 3 and declares The Briscoes victorious, only in the replay is it properly shown that both Rocco's shoulders were on the mat as he locked in the hold.

    Winners: The Briscoes

Grunge & Rock are livid as THe Briscoes taunt them over the victory, it's now 2-1 in the best of 5 series for The Briscoes, could the former champs be about to get their gold back.
    JayMarktheBriscoes.jpg

backstage segment: Jerry Lawler & JYD on their way to the ring, Josh Matthews tries to get a word from JYD but Lawler cuts him off and says that Ritter is focussed on his match next and says that they will do their talking in the ring, which they then make their way out to and wait to see who will face them tonight. It isnt long though until that question is answerd and their first oponnent makes his way out in the form of Harley Race.
    lawler-jerry11.jpg

Race ribs Lawler about some of his past indescressions and when Lawler tries to defend himself by mentioning that he is now the JYD's sponsor Race suggests that nobodys buying it. He says that most people believe that he is using the JYD as he needs someone to have his back. He uses this as a segway to introduce the man that has his back tonight and says that this is one surprise announcement that Jay Leno isnt going to make, his partner tonight is Black Tiger

Match 3: Jerry Lawler & The Junkyard Dog vs Harley Race & Black Tiger

JYD is in complete shock for a moment or two before he seems to be gripped with fear and immediatly turns his back and climbs out of the ring. He is shaking from head to foot at the sight of Black Tiger and at the announcement that he will face him at KOTR. I't looks like he is watching as a terrible ghost from his past makes his way down to the ring says Leno and as Black Tiger approaches it becomes clear that it is all too much for the JYD who jumps the barricade and without looking back leaves Lawler all along by heading through the crowd to avoid his troubled past in the ring. The ref trys to get him back into the ring going to the barricade and calling after him but it's too late as Lawler is getting double teamed in the ring. a double suplex and double DDT later and Lawler is in serious trouble as the ref gets back and officially starts the match, a match which doesent last long as the prone lawler is then subject to a Harley Race piledriver as his KOTR gets a pinfall victory over him.

Winners Harley Race & Black Tiger
    Harley_Belt_sm.jpg

Black Tiger quickly dissapears backstage as Race celebrates in ring. This cant help Lawler's mindframe heading into the PPV

Backstage Segment: Josh Matthews catches up with Ultimo Dragon backstagen and says that he has something to tell both he and... but he's interupted as The Great Sasuke intentionally smacks his shoulder into Ultimo Dragon. The two immediatly begin to brawl only to be eventually broken up by security and backstage personal as Josh finally tells them that they have been chosen to be Lumberjacks in tonights main event.

In ring Segment: Before tonights main event which we have just found out is going to be a Lumberjack match Rikidozan comes out as usual flanked by his translater. He cuts a promo on Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat saying that, until last week we thought Steamboat wasnt good enough to beat him and now after being in the ring with him he knows he isn't. He says to put it simply Ricky is nothing more than "a 2nd round draft pick", he says that Ricky simply isnt good enough to join the prestigious list of former BWA champions like Hulk Hogan, Bruno Sanmartino & Rikidozan himself. However he says he is going to give in and give Steamboat his match at the King of The Ring because last week things became personal. Despite not being on Rikidozan's level, last week Steamboat pinned Mitsuharu Misawa which meant Rikidozan suffered his first ever loss in a BWA ring. Rikidozan says Steamboat will pay for that mistake, suggesting that payback starts tonight as he has hand picked the lumberjacks for tonights match. They include Misawa who he says has a lot to make up for after last week and Ultimo Dragon and The Great Sasuke who he says similarily owe him for screwing up against Steamboat the previous week. He then lets out a sinister laugh as Jushin Liger's music hits and we get underway.

Main Event- Lumberjack Match: Ricky Steamboat vs Jushin Liger vs Sid Vicious

Along with the above named Lumberjacks Bobby Lashley comes to ringside but he joins his friend Jay Leno on commentary.

Steamboat starts this one strong but as the match progresses and as wrestlers get knocked to the outside he gets worn down as he has to withstand an attack from all the Japanese superstars on the outside, Liger does suffer somewhat due to what JR calls Ultimo Dragon & Sasuke taking their agression towards each other out on the IC Champ. Meanwhile Sid stays relatively fresh with only Lashley going near him when he was on the outside and those two only squared up to each other without actually coming to blows. The finish comes when Steamboat gives Liger a irish whip and when he is rebounding off the ring ropes Sasuke pulls the top rope sending him crashing to the outside where Ultimo Dragon is already on him. Meanwhile Sid and Steamboat are exchanging rights in ring and eventually a big clothesline from Sid sends them both to the outside also. Sid intimidates the Lumberjacks once more and gets straight back into the ring while the vultures circle Steamboat on the outside. On the side of the ring Dragon accidentally hits Sasuke while attacking Liger and the fight becomes a three way as Liger seems totally out of the match. Following Rikidozans orders Misawa then sets Steamboat up against the ring steps and rams his knee into Rickys head. At this point Rikidozan grabs Steamboat and the WHC tosses his KOTR opponent back into the ring where he is prone for attack by Sid, who after a big Powerbomb gets the 3 count in a dominant fashion.

    Winner: Sid Vicious

Sid has a big celebration in the ring then starts pointing at Lashley and starts taunting him, goading him into the ring, Lashley takes the bait and is momentarily on the apron which is when Sid charges him going for a big boot. Lashley avoids this though and Sid goes crashing to the outside. The two then start exchanging punches at a frantic rate and eventually their confrontation spills out into the arena as they fight through the fans.
    sid.bmp

There is carnage everywhere, Ultimo Dragon, Jushin Liger & The Great Sasuke have fought there way up the ramp and into the back. Sid & Lashley are now out of sight and Ricky Steamboat is lying near inconcious in the ring. Unfortunatley his night isnt over as we go off the air to the sight of Mitsuharu Misawa and WHC Rikidozan continuing their assault on him while screaming at him in Japanese.
    RIKIDOZAN.jpg

    ....Later that night
    6a00e5536b2ba98833012876d766e0970c-500wi

After the big return of the BWA Divas it's no surprise that Leno's first guest again the woman claiming she is going to bring the attitude back into the BWA womens division, Jenna Jameson. He says that JJ must have a retort to what his personal friend Bobby Lashley had to say about Sid Vicious last week on his show, he also questions why she wasnt at ringside tonight for her man's match tonight.

She says that Sid didnt want her out there amongst all the Lumberjacks but that she knew he could handle himself and as far as Bobby Lashley goes, Sid will refute all his claims in the ring. She does however say she has another big announcement for Leno one more than worthy of joining his recent big announcements (she mentions a few including how Leno has been given permission to announce the identity of BWA chairman Bounty Hunter at KOTR. Leno bites and ask what she is taking about at which she brings the focus back to the BWA Divas and most notably Cheerleader Melissa's vow tonight that if she wins the title at the PPV she will strip infront of the live HBO & Madison Square Garden audience. Jameson then announces in a show of solidarity that if Melissa is sucessfull in her quest then she would join her in her "Celebration". Leno looks amazed and can only utter "wow" at first before re-iterating his sentiments from earlier tonight about how The crowd is going to be 100% in Melissa's corner come KOTR thats for sure.

    0967~Jenna-Jameson-Gloves-Posters.jpg
"If Melissa wins, you see what made me famous"

Later in the show The Public Enemy are on the show and after getting everyone in leno's audience to dance to their entrance theme, here comes the hotstepper but after Leno questions how they are 2-1 down in the best of 5 series with The Briscoes they get serious. They say that they guarantee they will beat The Briscoes next week in what they have just learned will be a cage match because they say they are going the distance and at King of The Ring they will retain their newly aquired tag titles.

Leno then changes topic from the tag titles to another big announcement that he is sure Rock & Grunge will be interested in and like on the first night he broadcast as a BWA contracted star he brings up something said on another promotion. He brings up the challenge from MNG promotions and their leader HHH. As he does this he also reminds everyone that he has promised to reveal the identity of the BWA chairman Bounty Hunter at KOTR but for now he says he needs no more than a tweet from the man.

    http://twitter.com/#!/BWABountyHunter
have MNG forgotten how badly they got beaten in the ratings & ring last time. Time to remind em i guess boards.ie Monday NIght Wars 2 baby!

That concluded the BWA portion of Leno's show tonight but as per usual Leno did quiz his non wrestling related guests on their opinions of PW.

Meh don't those sh*tty Aussie soaps usually have a drugs angle ever four months. Big Dave could be the dealer.

I feel so sorry for Australians, because unless you've been there, then Neighbours, Home & Away and Shortland St are all people know of it.

    Maybe Crocodile Dundee.

Welcome to BWA King of the Ring!
    11+King+of+the+Ring+LOGO.jpg

As the Pyro's go off JR and Jay Leno welcome us to BWA: King of the Ring, a night that Jay Leno says will might see everything we know about the BWA change. They then begin by listing off tonights card in the sold out 2nd home for the BWA in recent months Madison Square Garden.
    madison-square-garden-1.jpg
    live from Madison Square Garden

However Leno says that they couldent do justice to the card and in doing so brings up who he says is the one person who could, the winner of the PPV Promo competition.
A competition is run before each PPV on BWA.com in which fans make promo videos for the PPV, one of which will win their creater front row tickets to the PPV

Micheal Cole is standing at ringside by the fans and talks to the competition winner, a young man who looks about 13 and is wearing a Waterford Hurling jersey with Ger C on the back (he also seems to have smuggled a hurley and a pint of guinness into the arena), he is also donning a cape and introduces himself as "The Flah", saying "The Flah came here all the way from Ireland tonight and is the BWA's biggest fan, so im o so proud to be here tonight and introduce my video...

When we return the commentaters take back over and after briefly saying how they personally think Cash's songs are a lil overused in such promo's recently he is still a legend the topic is quickly changed with Leno talking up his friend Bobby Lashley, saying he will make Sid Vicious pay for his actions tonight. JR quickly changes the subject again however this time to tonights opening match, as The Junkyard Dog comes out.

JYD is without his sponsor tonigh and explains thats because what he has to do tonight is personal. Someone he says has dragged up his past and tonight he has some demons to excorsize but first he demands that his opponent get out here and reveal his true identity. He says that it doesent matter who is behind the mask cos he is still going to whip his ass either way but he says this guy obviously wanted his antension and now he's damn sure got it. so come out and face me.

with that his opponents music hits and Black Tiger makes his way down to the ring. he gets right up infront of the JYD striking a pose like a super hero as he enters the ring all the while JYD is repeating "take your mask off, take your mask off". Black tiger then extends his hand to his opponent who looks set to slap it away only for it to be quickly retracted as Black Tiger mimics playing a trupet much to the crowds ammusesment. JYD however doesent see the funny side in this and pulls back his right arm looking to deliver a big right hand. He stops however as Black tiger holds up a finger asking for a moment before motioning that he is going to demask himself. This seems to please the now enraged JYD who relaxes his guard and like the crowd awaits the reveal.

Black Tiger milks it for all its worth a numer of times motioning that he is about to pull the mask off, as he does the camera pans around to show the anticipation on the faces of the crowd. Then in a moment reminiscent of the night this all started in the BWA for the Junkyard Dog, the camera suddenly focusses on a man in the crowd in the full Black Tiger costume standing in the front row. This is almost glossed over though as we are then brought straight back to the action in the ring where JYD seems to have finally lost patience with his opponent and once again has his arm cocked as he shouts "Do it now!"

Finaly the mask is pulled off and cast aside, but whats underneath is even more baffing to the JYD, as his opponent is stil masked however he now seems to be portraying the more famous Tiger Mask. Before The JYD knows what happening though he has been attacked and the bell has sounded, this match has begun!

Black Tiger Mask vs Junkyard dog

JYD is caught by a big kick with his opponent Jumping into his chest taking him out of the game early on. That is followed up by a spin kick and Ritter is realling. The masked man doesent give him any restbite though and immediatly hits a big tiger suplex leaving him a heap collapsed on the ropes. Tiger mask now relaxes and begins to taunt JYD causing the ref and crowd to really get on his case. Then as Ritter opens his eyes and try and get to his feet he see's the black Tiger figure in the crowd, who now steps up over the barricade and seems intent on heading towards the ring and the JYD. This makes him quickly get to his feet but with his back turned to his in ring opponent and his mind focussed on this new figure he is easy pickings for Tiger Mask, and after he turns into a Tiger Driver this one is over, atleast as a contest that is.

    Winner: Black Tiger Mask

After the bell Black Tiger gets into the Ring beside Tiger mask and the two continue the beatdown on Ritter who it seems is paying for his sins and then some as he is the victom of a Black Tiger Bomb (Sitout crucifix powerbomb).

As we head to the backstage area the camera focusses on JR holding aloft the Black Tiger Mask worn by Tiger Mask before this match got underway.
    5182910270_e9eeb36768.jpg

Backstage Segment: We are then brought to a sit down interview with the BWA world heavyweight champion, the grand Rikidozan, among his many jibes at Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat he states via translator that he's had much bigger and badder foes than you come after him including one particular occasion when he recalls being stabbed with a urine-soaked blade by yakuza and merly throwing the perp out of the club he was in before continuing to party, all the while refusing to seek medical help. It seems the main point of his yarns however harps back to a point he has tried to make on numerous occasions, that he think Steamboat is not a worthy challenge of him and he says he will prove that and prove his dominance as the true King of the BWA no matter what anyone says by destroying him in the main event.

As we return to the ring we see the ring and entrance way is now littered with tables, ladders and chairs o my! "it's that time JR" says Leno, "time for the best of 5 series finale, TLC style"

first out are The Briscoes who set up two charis in the ring and grab a mic before addressing their PPV opponents directly. They say that last week on Raw they were honestly impressed by the lengths Rocco Rock & Johnny Grunge were willing to go to just for the opportunity to compete here tonight in the best of 5 series finale. They do however question if Grunge wll be in any fit state to compete after his fall on Raw before moving onto their main gripe. They say that ever since The Public Enemy's debut they have been parading around calling themselves the BWA tag team champions, but they are not that!

They remind everyone that their title defeat was declared the first in the best of 5 series and say that since they were the champs before the series began only after it is concluded should new champions be crowned. They call The Public Enemy's run as champs null & void, saying the last time they will get to wear that gold will be right now as they demand they make their way down to the ring if they are even able to compete tonight. Moments later The Public Enemy's iconic theme tune plays much to the crowds amusement as the duo emerge, Grunge clearly heavily taped up and make their way down to the ring with a surprising spring in their steps. "By gawd, their here Leno, and they came to compete" yells JR as they get into the ring and face off against their opponents who are now no longer seated.

Best of 5 series finale for the Tag team titles: TLC Match: Jay & Mark Briscoe vs The Public Enemy

It actually takes quite a while for a table ladder or chair to be used in this match but once they are introduced it seems to be non stop carnage. The two chairs the briscoes had been earlier sat on are the first to be used after Jay Briscoe is tossed to the outside while the public enemy take control. Jay grabs both of them and brings them back into the ring as he returns swinging them. moments later Rock & Grunge are layed out the first of many shifts of momentum takes place. The commentators suggest The Briscoes are then wise by not going straight for the gold when they have the upper hand, they say we have seen enough of TLC matches and The Public Enemy to know that the challengers wouldnt relinquish their hold on the titles so easily.

The Briscoes instead continue to beat down on their opponents, delivering a number of chair shots to go with some high elevated double hip tosses. A table is then set up in the center of the ring and after mimicing eenie meenie minee moe the brothers choose Johnny Grunge and combine to deliver their Redneck Boogie (Crucifix powerbomb (Mark) / Neckbreaker (Jay) combination) through the table in a similar fashion to a 3D. Grunge looks to be completely out of it but is able to roll to the outside as the commentaters remind everyone about the fall he endured from a steel cage last monday night while seemingly showing genuine concern for his well being considering his current situation. It seems his brother will be joining him in such a predicament shortly though as Jay repeatidly stamps on his head before grabbing him and tossing him to his brother who sets him for what looks like it could be powerbomb and potentially another bit o Redneck Boogie from the brothers. Instead however Rocco Rock reverses the attempted move and flips Mark Briscoe over his head sending him crashing through the table in his place. It has now atleast temporarily been turned into a 1 on 1 matchup as the downed Briscoe brother also rolls to the outside.

Rock is now on a roll (pun intended) after sending Mark through the wood and goes straight at Jay with a series of big rights. After a big kneestrike Jay is left flat on his back and Rocco heads to the outside and grabs a Ladder and brings it back into the ring. He sets it up in the centre of the ring and slowly begins to ascend it. Jay has had a chance to get back to his feet though and grabs his leg pulling back down as the two begin to go at it again. Rocco tosses Jay into the ropes however and as he return given him a big hip toss into the ladder leaving him crying out in pain. On the outside the other two combatants are getting back to their feet and also quickly begin to brawl with each other a brawl that leads to them falling over the barricade as they continue to fight now in the crowd. As they stumble over the barricade Johnny Grunge accidently takes out the BWA no.1 fan causing him to spill his guinness all over the floor. This is a fact taken advantage of by Grunge who grabs the empty pint glass and smashes it across Mark Briscoes skull busting him open.

Back in the ring it looks like The Public Enemy have this in control as Rocco Rock has continued to use the ladder as a weapon against Jay and has left him a broken mess in the corner. He is once again joined by his tag partner who he high fives before setting up the ladder in the center of the ring. with the crowd going wild they slowly ascend it both reaching the top at the same time, the camera then focusses in on Rocco Rock's face as he shows his pleasure with w big smile at their current situation. That smile is suddenly dropped though as his partner also drops but this time from the top of the ladder after a crashing blow to the back of hiis head by a foreign object. Mark Briscoe is back in the ring and seemingly is now carrying the Flah's hurley,he now climbs the ladder as Rock scrambles to pull down the belts. He isnt quick enough and after a quick shot to his stommach he is prone for what he recieves next a crack straight across his forhead from the hurl sending him to the mat. Mark then reaches up and pulls down the title belts as The BWA crowd show their appreciation for the exhibition they have just witnessed.

    Winners: The Briscoes
    Briscoe_Brothers_display_image.jpg?1275850495

With carnage everywhere the commentaters try to divert the attension away from the clean up crew by introducing the BWA chairman Bounty Hunter's latest tweet, we are then brought to a backstage segment.

    http://twitter.com/#!/BWABountyHunter
Later my big reveal, now a big announcement, The BWA & CCW have agreed a talent share deal! monday night wars to win, everyone wants a piece

Backstage Segment: The Junkyard Dog can be seen after just arriving back into his dressing room where his sponsor Jerry Lawler is unpacking his bag after arriving to the arena. JYD is ranting about Black Tiger saying he will find out they really are, but as has become customary recently Lawler calms him down (despite saying he should have let him accompany him to ringside), telling him it shouldent be too hard saying "I'ts not like your trying to find out the identity of BWA chairman Bounty Hunter, here look at this" he then proceeds to show him Tiger Masks Wikipedia page while explaining that "Only a few men have ever donned the Tiger mask and only one of those is currently on the BWA roster" after JYD asks who he is told to scroll down the page but the camera's return to rinside as it's time for our 3rd match of the night. Thia does however discount anyone who perhaps could be involved in a talent share deal between the BWA and CCW as just announced by the chairman, but these two seem unaware of that announcement right now.

First King of the Ring Semi-final: Mitsuharu Misawa vs Kenta Kobashi

example of what the majority of this match might be like:

The finish of this match comes about when Misawa has the advantage due to suplexing Kobashi into an exposed turnbuckle (misawa removed the padding earlier) and temporarily taking him out of the game. This is despite the fact that as Leno points out Misawa seems tired before this match even starts, it's now Kobashi who gets worn down though as Misawa starts targetting Kobashis's lower leg and ankle. he repeatidly stamps on it then locks in an ankle lock temporarily before ascending to the 2nd rope and once more stamping down on the ankle. He then locks in a longer ankle lock which he is evidentually forced to break as Kobashi reaches the ropes.

Misawa backs away looking cocky and lets Kobashi try and get to his feet but its clear he can barely support his own wait using one the leg/ankle that Misawa has been working on. His opponent hits him with a number of quick jabs then which again due to his injury Kobashi is not quick enough to avoid. Misawa now openly taunts his former partner offering him a 'free shot' sticking his jaw out for Kobashi to hit, but each time Kobashi would take a step forward to swing Misaw would step out of the way and continue deriding him. Misawa stops though and puts on a serious face saying he will really not move this time .Kobashi expression however seems to read "how dumb is this guy, but ok" as he seems to find a sudden burst of energy and strenght and performs his Burning Lariat sending Misawa crashing to the Mat. looking up at Kobashi he is clearly outraged at this turn of events and when he gets to his feet he charges at Kobashi who has just about regained his compure and footing now seemingly able to put weight on his foot again. Unfortunatley for Misawa Kenta see's him coming and catches him in a hip toss throwing him right into the exposed turnbuckle. Misawa stumbles back into the center of the ring as Kobashi grabs him in an inside cradle pin, 1-2-3 and we have a winner!

    Winner: Kenta Kobashi
    2688805740_40ff60c4f5.jpg

Backstage Segment: Psycho Sid Vicious is interviewed backstage about his actions last week and how Leno file charges against him so as to allow his match with Bobby Lashley to take place tonight. Sid says that he knew that Leno wouldent put his best buddys PPV debut in jepordy, not after what he did on Raw which he describes as nothing compared to what awaits Lashley tonight. He says that he could have crushed Leno that night, he held his fath in the palm of his hand, but that wasnt his MO. He said he was merly getting in the head of Bobby Lashley. He says that Lashley inow has his mind transixed on revenge, and says that he will use his opponents rage against him, claiming that Lashley gets sloppy if he fights angry and that all it will take is one mistake against the might of the master and ruler of the world. Sid then shapes to leave but before he does the interviewer asks him about the role his manager Jenna Jameson will play at ringside tonight. His answer is simple "motivation", as he retorts with a question of his own "who would motivate you more banged up Jay "the Chin" Leno or her?" as he kicks open the dressing room door beside him to reveal JJ getting changed, she gives a cheeky smile before closing the door on the cameraman as we return to the commentaters at ringside and an Irate Leno who goes off on one about Sid after he seems to have been momentarily calmed by the sight of his manager.
    Sid-Vicious1.png

As we return to ringside JR is trying to convince Leno that the JYD was right to attack Misawa tonight he compares the physiqes of both Misaw and the man wearing the Tiger mask earlier tonight and states that they are almost identical but before we can hear if Leno agrees with him or not the self proclaimed "Dark Queen" of the BWA is makes her way out to the ring and the commentators change the topic to talk about the potential rammifications the result of this match could have. They are soon quitened though as Mschif trys to address the audience, I say trys as it's at first like when former BWA draftee used to try to address the crowd as a chorus of boo's stop her from speaking. The crowd are clearly showing they are not in her corner tonight.

When she eventually gets to speak it is the crowd allegiance she actually talks about, saying how she will take great pleasure silencing the crowd tonight, not only ensuring that her former partner or as she calls her lacky Melissa has to quit the BWA tonight but by also making sure that nobody gets to she her and Jenna Jameson celebrate tonight.

"Will she spoil the party for everyone tonight as we go live for the first time on HBO" wonders JR, but he doesent have to wait long to fins out as seconds later Cheerleader Melissa comes out accompanied to the ring by Jenna Jameson who it would appear is pulling double managerial duty tonight.

Quit or Queen match: MsChif vs Cheerleader Mellisa

Melissa starts this one strong but MsChif slowly gains control as it goes on and looks the most likely to get an early victory here and in doing so fulfill her vow and silence the crowd. Perhaps she should have tried to get the win early on infact as she had the perfect opportunity after she hit her Desecrator Scissored DDT on her opponent. Instead however she tries to make an uncharacteristic top rope moonsault a move which backfires terribly as Melissa rolls out of the way at the last moment. MsChif is now down and the momentum shifts into Melissa's corner as Jameson gets the crowd whipped up into a frenzy. MsChif slowley gets to her feet but only just in time for Melissa to deliver an impressive an air raid crash to her opponent. This is a Over the shoulder back to belly piledriver and is enough for Melissa to get the 3 count.

    Winner: Cheerleader Melissa
    cheerleader-melissa.jpg

As Melissa celebrates with her newly aquired BWA womens title, MsChif gets back to her feet and makes her way over to the new champ who at first puts her guard up but then reaches out offering her hand to her former tag partner. The two shake hand much the the crowds surprise but then in a return to form MsChif gives Melissa a swift kick to her midsection before slingshotting herself against the ropes and going for a big spinning backfist. Melissa dodges this though as Jenna Jameson on the outside pulls down the top rope and with the help of a melissa missile dropkick the former champ is sent crashing to the outside where Security restrain her. MsChif is then lead away up the ramp by the same security guards as Jenna gets into the ring and the crowd chant "Na na na na, na na na na, hay hay hayyy, goodbye" at the former champ who as a result of the matches stipulation has had to quit her BWA contract.

Then in a scene that would not have been possible before tonights move to HBO, Jenna says that it's time to celebrate MsChif's removal and the crowning of a new Queen of the BWA by giving the fans what they want. A big crowd cheer is then followed by the tune Killer pussy by Master P as the two women give the BWA & HBO audiences a moment they will never forget. A movie clip of this and the song itself are two of the biggest downloads throughout the following week.

Backstage Segment: Harley Race is seen making his way out towards the ring as we are informed that the 2nd KOTR semi final is next. He stops however as he sees Kenta Kobashi who has already qualified for the King of the Ring final, which will decide the new no.1 contender. He squares right up to his asian counterpart before congratulating him. He then invites Kobashi to get a ringside seat to watch him beat Jerry Lawler next, to not only see the man he will face later on tonight, but to see what a real man can do. He then turns to walk off as Kenta enquires "What do you mean 'real man'?" but can be hear to reply while laughing to himself and walking away "An American"

As we return to ringside Leno reminds us all that we dont have to wait too much longer to find out the identity of the BWA chairman bounty hunter but up first we have The King vs The King in The King of the Ring, and with that out comes Jerry Lawler.

Lawler grabs a mic and says that since it seems everyone is cutting a promo before their matches tonight he's decided to get in on the act, because he says he has something to get off his chest. "I'm an arrogant son of a B!tch" (the crowd are teak aback by this as the change to HBO is becoming more and more evident), "i'll admit that, and yes i do have an affinity for the young ladies, and sure walking around calling myself the King and nailing every pretty young thing that tries out for the Divas division can get some fans on my back." (if anything the heel wrestler is getting pops as he speaks now). "So I guess I was an easy target for Harley Race as he tried to get your approval upon his arrival here in the BWA, but he forgot one thing. I May be arrogant but I damn well walk the walk as good as I talk the talk. Ask Superstar Billy Graham, Macho Man Randy Savage or Mr Perfect if you dont believe me, i've beaten them all and won it all, and now you have the balls to continually insult my past to try and get over well big mistake.

"Jerry, Jerry, Jerry" chant breaks out as Lawler having seemingly won over the crowd with his words tells Race to get out here so he can boow down to the real King of professional wrestling, with that his opponent Harley Race emerges.

King of the Ring Semi-final no.2: Harley Race Vs Jerry The King Lawler

Race looks pissed off before this match even begins and from the get go he is on lawler not giving him a moments restbite. It seems Lawler's pre match words have really reiled up his opponent annd after a vicious headbut and a high knee strike Lawler is on the backfoot. He fights back however with a multiple punches of his own and this develops into a real back and forth competition. whenever Race hits a big move like a vertical suplex for example Jerry would fight back and hit his own in return such as the big belly to belly suplex he hits mid way through the contest.

The conclusion comes with Race in the ascendancy after catching Lawler with a Swinging neckbreaker. At this point he climbs the ring ropes and hits a Diving headbutt, however this notably both takes as much out of Race as Lawler and busts Race's head wide open. blood starts to stream down his forhead and into his eyes causing him to temporarily lose his vision a fact that means Lawler is the first to his feet and ready to capitalise. He hits Race with a big piledriver in the center of the ring then he is the one who climbs the turnbuckle in a move the commentators say may also be 'a mistake'. He gets to the top rope and goes for and connects with a diving fist drop, connecting directly with Race's busted open forhead. Then with the crowd behind him in a big match for the first time during his BWA tenure Lawler seems like he is feeding of the atmosphere in the arena as he pulls down the straps of his ring attire and sets Race up for a second Piledriver after which on top of a small puddle of his opponents blood he makes the pin. 1-2-3

    Winner: Jerry Lawler

A celan victory for Lawler who looks overwhelmed by the support of the crowd and while celebrating quickly exits the ring knowing that despite defeating the man he has had personal issues with in recent weeks his work for the night isnt finished yet. Race is left in the ring looking totally dejected and confused as to what has just happened to him. He cannot believe he has lost nor cann he understand how the crowd suddenly seem to like the fact that Lawler defeated him. With blood dripping from his face he cuts a very sorry figure as he makes his way to the back.

Backstage segment: The Briscoes are backstage celebrating reclaiming their tag team titles when Jay tells Mark to check what the dirtsheets are saying. A few seconds later and Mark can be seen browsing boards.ie PW and momentarilly can be heard calling to his bro "what was the name of that fellah Micheal Cole introduced with that promo video at the start of the show?" after the answer of "What you mean the flah?" Mark calls his brother over to see what the BWA's no.1 fan had just posted online presumably using his phone.
Hey Gersie, just watched the best tag match ive seen since we bayte tar out of those two klikenny boys at Morrisey's. If your promotion ever gets out of the Parish you should try and sign The Briscoes, the ba$tards might have stolen me hurl but damn can they put on a show.

The two look chuffed reading this but are slightly curious as to who this Gersie is but after a quick post search they conclude that he must be the flah's lover and laugh off the notion of him running a big time promotion.

As we return to ringside, we see Michael Cole emerge from the back and take his seat at the commentary booth, as Leno grabs a mic and gets in the ring for what he calls his turn at being more than just an announcer as he introduces the man who's corner he will be in tonight Bobby Lashley. It is however as he re-introduces his opponents manager to the crowd that we get arguably the 2nd biggest pop of the night (the first being during her appearance earlier) as the crowd show their appreciation for Jenna Jameson and it is her who then introduces the final man in this match "her man" Sid Vicious.

celeb match: Sid Vicious w/Jenna Jameson vs Bobby Lashley w/Jay Leno

The culmination of this one comes as the in ring display turns into a brawl which spreads to the outside of the ring. It is here that Sid's temper gets the best of him and after temporarily incapacitating Lashley with a sidewalk slam on the outside he turns his attension to Leno. Once more Jenna pleads with him not to attack the non-wrestler but Sid ignores her and grabs him by the throat while signalling that Leno is going for a ride curtosy of a chokeslam. He lifts him up but before he can slam him down Lashley strikes him from behind making Sid release his grip and drop the former MMA star's buddy. Leno looks enraged anyway though and goes over to have a discussion with the Ref, JR & Cole assume that he is telling him to get some control here and get them back in the ring.

Moments later as Bobby and Sid exchange punches on the outside, Lashley hits his opponent with a powerfull low blow kick completely taking the wind out of his sails. It was in clear view of everyone and JR is vocally astonished that there has been no DQ called. Leno now begins ordering Lashley around, not like a friend would but like his boss. he gets him to throw Sid back into the ring and tells him to continue the beatdown as he grabs a steel chair from ringside and tosses into the ring. "Why isn't the referee stopping this?" shouts JR. Lashley picks it up and under orders from Leno grabs the chair and smashes it across the back of his opponent sending him to the mat. There is still some fight in Sid though and he slowly gets up onto his knees as Leno shouts "Do it again, now!" and with that another chair shot is delivered this time across the side of Sid's head. He inow looks completlely unconcioususs face down into the mat but that does not stop his attacker he continues to follow orders as Leno shouts "again, again, again!" after that Lashley rolls Sid over and places his boot on his chest while the referee counts 1-2-3 and JR continues ranting about how"this has been a damn conspiracy, a set up!"

    winner: Bobby Lashley
    Bobby-Lashley-workout.jpg

JR is once more voicing his oppinion saying "oh no dont tell me she is in on this too" as it is actually Jenna Jameson who raises Lashley's arm as he's declared the winner. Leno is now also in the ring and he has a microphone. He directs his thoughts firstly towards Sid who is lying bloodied propped up on the ring ropes saying "I had hoped to do this in a more dignified manner Sid, but you wouldent allow that, you couldent keep your hands to yourself, and now your paying the price. You must have wonderd why i didnt have Sid's ass carted off to prison after what he did to me on Raw, you all must have wonderd this (now no longer solely talking to Sid). Well you see I'm also here today to announce to this Madison Square Garden audience and the millions watching at home the name of the BWA chairman Bounty Hunter, and that name is.... Jay Leno!"

"That's rights it's me Sid. You crossed the boss, big mistake. Now you know why i didnt want you wrotting away wasting your BWA contract in a prison cell, cos im going to create your own person hell right here for you!" He then turns to the announcers and says "Micheal Cole your back on the announce team" before turning and catching Jenna Jameson in a liplock. the two then exit the ring together and followed by Lashley make their way up the ramp.

Camera's follow them as they make their way straight to the car park Leno can be overheard telling Jameson to hurry up, saying he wants to catch the rest of the show from the hotel room as he gets into the car then looking back and smiling to the camera smiling as he says "B!tch get your ass over here"(pictured below) before speeding off into the night.

    BH announcement: Jay Leno!
    jay-leno-01-af.jpg

After at first going along with the crowd reaction and showing their surprise at Leno's reveal, JR composes himself and says that he enjoyed his time with Leno on the announce team and with the knowledge that he has always been in charge anyway says he is confident that things should remain all good despite this shock for the BWA audience. Cole suggests JR is meerly sucking up to the boss as he head to a backstage segment and it seems their heel/face announce team dynamic is back to normal.

Backstage segment: Todd Grisham is gauging reaction to Leno's big announcement, speaking to Harley Race and then Jerry Lawler (seperatley of course). Race is in a fowl mood and refuses to be interiewed, while Lawler is actually slightly surprised by the question. He says that even when we didnt know Bounty Hunter's identity we knew he had been at the helm of the BWA for many years and turned it into the global brand that it is today. All we found out today he's a well known face, with a cool car and hot ass girl on his arm aswell as a Prime time talk show that can further promote the great wrestlers like me in the BWA. He says he simply cannot imagine why anyone wouldent want such a man leading their promotion. He then excuses himself though saying he has a King of The Ring crown to prepare to win.

When we return Jushin liger is already making his way down to the ring before his intercontinental title defense. Which JR says will hopefully not any outside interference, tables, ladders, chairs, hurleys or bloodshed. He says this has to the potential to be a pure wrestling clinic. As his challengers make their way out Cole suggests he has probably just jinxed the match which will now end stinking the place out with multiple injuries.

Triple threat IC title match: Jushin Liger vs Ultimo Dragon Vs The Great Sasuke

Luckily for the fans it seems that JR is the most right out of the two commentators as these three men put on a real display of wrestling holds and counter holds interspersed with big kicks and impressive arial moves. The pace is intense but the rivalry between Ultimo Dragon and Sasuke is at a noticably higher level than that involving the champ and this is something Liger uses to his advantage. time and time again he allows the other two to go at it and then picks the bones afterwards. It is infact after one such an occasion that the conclusion of this match comes about.

The champ is knocked to the outside after a mule kick from The Great Sasuke but while out there takes his time getting back into the ring once again letting both his opponents weaken each other first. Back in the ring ultimo Dragon has the upper hand on Sasuke after attacking him while he was knocking Liger to the outside. he has beaten him into the corner and then starts pounding him down as he climbs up the turnbuckles and then goes for a Dragonsteiner. Sasuke gets a burst of energy however and fights back not allowing the Dragonsteiner and instead giving Ultimo Dragon a front suplex back into the ring. Then he climbs back up to the top rope and hits a goes for a High-angle senton bomb on Dragon. It seems he is just playing possum though as he rolls out of the way leaving Sasuke to crash into the hard canavas. while all this has been happening Liger has gotten back to his feet and been awaiting his chance to capitalise. He now takes it and is on another top turnbuckle within seconds of Sasuke missing his big aerial move. Because of that miss Sasuke is already lying in pain so its Ultimo Dragon he hits with his Shooting Star press after which he makes the cover and gets the 3 count needed to retain his gold.

    Winner: Jushin Liger
    L9jEFoJMKrlpXbd.jpg

backstage segment: Sid Vicious is interviewed backstage and asked about the role Jay Leno played in his defeat tonight. Sid calls it a joke, claiming that Bobby Lashley didnt beat him tonight, the BWA chairman and that slut Jenna Jameson beat him. He says that Lashley could never defeat him one on one, cos he is the most dominant force the world of professional wrestling has ever known, which is a fact that he says the BWA chairman will soon find out first hand. Despite being clearly incensed Sid actually laughs as he says he looks forward to seing Leno on Raw, then he walks away. In the background as the camera follows him can be seen Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. The camera momentarily focusses on him, showing him getting psyched for his main event match tonight by pounding the sh!t out of of boxing bag with both kicks and punches.

at this point we cut to a recent video with Mene Gene about Steamboats training.

When we return we are told that it's time for the KOTR finale as Cole lists off all the prestigous King of The Rings crowned in other promotions in the past. Then finally both of tonights earlier KOTR tournament matches are quickly recapped before both the winner re-emerge for this match, a match that comes not only with the King of the Ring moniker but also the no.1 conendership for the BWA world heavyweight title.

King of the Ring final: Jerry Lawler vs Kenta Kobashi

Before this match begins Lawler and Kobashi shake hands in an all too rarely seen show of respect. The crowd are mostly behind Kobashi but it's safe to say that Lawler won over large sections of the crowd already tonight and "jerry" chants can still be heard amonst the slightly louder "Kenta" chants.

Kobashi's ankle is heavily taped up and he seems to be once again able to put pressure on his foot until his footing suddenly gives way ironically as he attempted to attack. It was a Savate kick he was attempting as his leg gave way and unfortunatley for him Lawler adjusted quickly after the attack and was in the ascendancy from this point on. He hit his downed opponent witha number of big elbow drops then picked him up for a suplex. Somehow much to the crowds appreciation Kobashi counters this into a roll up pin though and gets a close 2 count after which he stays on the offensive and puts Lawler into a Boston Crab. Lawler eventually forces him to break the hold though and gets back to his feet and backs away into his corner to recuperate.

Lawler actually looks in shock as he see's Kobashi stumbling towards him wanting more begging him to come at him so come at him he does. He charges across the ring looking for a big clothesline but much to his surprise as it was to Mitsuharu Misawa's earlier tonight, Kobashi has a lil extra left in his tank and avoids the clothesline while connectine with a move of his own, his Burning Lariat from short range, which completely winds Lawler and kills all his momentum. Standing hunched over in the cener of the ring Lawler is then once more caught by a Savate kick this time Kenta keeping his footing while his opponent is sent crashing to the mat. KObashi then points to the top rope and makes his way to the corner as the teo commentators express entirely different point of view. JR saying "He can taste it, time to put the final exclamation point on it before becoming the king of the ring" while Cole simply suggests "I dont think this is so wise"

This time it would appear Cole is the right one as Kobashi's footing once more gives way as he was preparing for what looked was going to be moonsault. He drops perilously onto the top turnbuckle with one leg either side, giving himself a rather inadvertant low blow and in doing so gives Lawler a chance to get up. A chance he takes as he then gets up onto the turnbuckle with Kobashi and gives him 10 punches as counted out by the thousands in attendance. After no.10 Lawler hooks him up for a Superplex and sends Kobashi crashing back onto the ring mat. JR then questions how much more can Kenta actually take but it isnt long before that question is answerd as Lawler picks him up and with his patented Piledriver picks up the win, to once again become Jerry "The King" Lawler.

Winner and BWA King of The Ring: Jerry Lawler
    p-92524-jerry-lawler-autographed-hand-signed-8x10-photo-wrestling-aw-1846.jpg

After Kenta gets back to his feet he and Lawler once again shake hands as Jerry celebrates, after which he reminds everyone that his corrination will be live tommorow night on BWA Raw as the new King of the BWA ring decides stay at ringside and on commentary for tonights main event. In doing so he highlights that winning tonight's KOTR tournament has earned him the title of no.1 contender, saying he now has a vested interest in the following match.

The Challenger Ricky Steamboat is the first one out and like with all the others who emerged to the ring first tonight (excluding Liger) he grabs a mic as he enters the ring as it seems he too has a pre-match message for his opponent.

He says for months while Rikidozan has avoided facing him he has had to listen to the champ going on about how about how the BWA fans havent payed him the respect he deseves. well just because in Japan you are reverd like Bret Hart is in Canada or Santo is in Mexico doesent mean the American fans are going to love you from the get go, especially not when you act like a tempermental spoiled child. Respect needs to be earned it cant be gotten through fear and intimidation he says before telling Rikidozan that tonight he has one chance to earn that respect. He says that that there is a reason that the fans here chant his name, that he has gone out each and every night and proved that he is worthy of their cheers but that he is sure that should Rikidozan defeat him in an honourable match up tonight they will respect that, because no matter what you have said to justify your evasion of my challenge up until now I am your equal and I will prove that tonight so enough of your talk about killing hulkamania and everything past here and now youve got the WHC and I want it so lets do this!

With that Rikidozan's music hits and the WHC comes down the the ring.

The commentaters now amp up the the atmosphere pre match listing off the numerous memorable events we have seen tonight already saying that all that was just building to this moment and this match. "The BWA World Heavyweight Championship is on the line cole, if you cant get excited about this then you shouldn't be watching pro-wrestling".

WHC match:Rikidōzan (c) vs Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat

It's odd to talk about the main event as a PPV match stealer but it seems everyone had a favourite match from this PPV card before it began and usually it wasnt this one but after the show its the the one most are talking about. Both men have diffent moments on top early on Steamboat after the champ thinks he has tossed him out of only for him to skin the cat and be waiting for Rikidozan as he turns around and hitting him with a big Spinning heel kick which he follows up with multiple chops to his opponent. Rikidozan fights back however and has his own period of dominance after his own set of chops sets The Dragon up for a big bodyslam which leads to a 2 count pin.

The beginning of the end of this match see's Mitsuharu Misawa arrive at ringside much to the crowd's disapproval and Rikidozan to once again gain the advantage as a result. Misawa's meer appearance slightly distracts Steamboat but more meaningfully it distracts the ref and as he looks over to check on if Misawa is coming down to interfere or not Rikidozan in a dispicable double action both rakes Steamboat's eyes and gives him a low blow. The crowd let out a loud boo but the ref thinks they are still booing Misawa and that he must have tried something to influence the match and bars him from ringside despite him not actually doing anything much to the the crowds amusement. As he gets up to the top of the ramp he looks back for a moment at the ring for a moment, which is a moment too long as The Junkyard Dog attacks him from behind. The two are eventually seperated and brought back stage by security while in the ring Rikidozan looks to by building towards a finish. He had followed the low blow up with big mongolian chop, a chop so powerfull he often uses it as his finishing maneuver and now he had the challenger locked in a big body scossors choking the life out of him.

The ref comes to check if Steamboat is still concious and lifts up Rickys hand only to drop it three consecutive times, only on the final time of asking is there a sign of life, but yes Steamboat begins fighting back. He forces his way out of the hold and then to his feet before starting a back and forth exchange of chops with his opponent. when out of nowhere Rikidozan catches Steamboat with a big kick to his midsection and once more completely derails his progress. The champ see's this as his opportunity and hits his trademark Rikidozan Piledriver, things are not looking good for the challenger. Rikidozan doesent go for the pin immediatly though instead he starts slapping his elbow and signals to the top rope, it seems he wants to finish 'The Dragon' off with a big elbow drop. Unfortunatley for him though as he steadies himself on the top turnbuckle Steamboat springs back into life and onto his feet before charging into the corner and catching the champ with some big rights and lefts. he then hoists himself up onto the 2nd turnbuckle just below Rikidozan and grabs his opponent and superplex's him right back into the ring. Steamboat gets back to his feet and back onto the turnbuckle then as Rikidozan gets back up, but the moment the champ is vertical a vintage Ricky Steamboat Diving crossbody catches him and he is sent straight back to the mat where to his disbelief Steamboat goes for and makes the 3 count .

    winner: Ricky Steamboat

We have a new BWA world heavyweight champion and it's Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. The fans are going wild, while the former champ Rikidozan looks in total shock. After a few seconds a look of rage seems to grow across his face but he is escourted away by the same security personal that had earlier removed Misawa. this leaves Steamboat alone with his fans and his newly acquired belt to celebrate his moment. He has finally reached the peak of his profession and before we go off air this is aknowledged by his peers as the majority of the BWA lockeroom empties out to congratulate him on his win. a New day has dawned in the BWA here at BWA King of the Ring.
    steamboat-ricky_288x288.jpg

Some reasoning behind certain booking decisions and a look to feuds and the future in general for the BWA after King of The Ring

    The main event Scene

Rikidozan having enterd the BWA in last years draft was the perfect choice for a dominant heel foreign champion. He debuted as the leader of a superstrong faction alongside Aja Kong, Kenta Kobashi & Mitsuharu Misawa in a clean sweep at BWA: Re-Awakening and since claimed not only the WHC champion but also 'Killed Hulkamania' as he rid the BWA of it's former champion Hulk Hogan. Never recieving respect he got bitter towards the crowd and the crowd favourites such as Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Steamboat is the ultimate babyface, and there coulf be no better way to send the crowd home than by having him go over such a dominant and hated heel. Ricky's reign as champ will be a breath of fresh air to the BWA faithfull but the PPV also saw the start of another reign, that of Jerry "The King" Lawler. By winning the KOTR tournament the now tweener Lawler has shot himself into the main event scene as the new no.1 contender but with the former champ Rikidozan no doubt also looking for his title rematch its safe to say the champ will be kept busy in the coming months.

    The Mid-Card

The mid card see's a number of notably wrestlers but most are going to atleast temporarily be involved in on going storylines. In this catagory you will find, Misawa, Sid Vicious & Bobby Lashley. Two men who are not mentioned here and could have a potential feud given their PPV interaction would be Harley Race & Kenta Kobashi though. Race has been left in a terrible mood after failing at the Semi-final stage in the KOTR tournament vs eventual winner Jerry Lawler. He does however consider himself more of a "real man" than Kobashi it seems despite Kenta making the final of that competition simply because he is "an American". Kobashi is all about honour and respect, perhaps if Race continues to disrespect him like this he will show him how much of a real man he is in the ring.

    The Owner/Celebs involvement

So Jay Leno has been revealed as the Owner/Chairman of the BWA, combine that big reveal with the in-ring "Celebration" of the women he left the arena with (Jenna Jameson) and the BWA has certainly grabbed the attension of the mainstream media. One man however who cant be fully behind this is the man who got screwed over right before the big reveal. In a sort of anti-establishment role it will be interesting to see how he seeks revenge but lest he not forget about Leno's backup and the man who defeated him at KOTR Bobby Lashley.

The JYD / Black Tiger Mask saga

JYD obviously thinks that it was Mitsuharu Misawa donning the Tiger mask at KOTR and on Raw these two will now doubt be somehow involved, but what of the other masked man who attacked Ritter? well The BWA did announce at the PPV that a talent exchange deal had been struck with CCW and considering they have on their roster both the man who Ritter teabagged and injured in TNA as Black Tiger Ultimo Guerrero & The Original Tiger Mask on their roster it shouldent surprise anyone if the talent exchange plays a part in this angles development.

    IC, Tag and Diva's

The Public Enemy made a big splash upon their arrival and brought some real life to the BWA's tag division with their epic stipulation packed best of 5 series with the public enemy. Even their opponents didnt think they would be 100% going into the decider so perhaps after some well needed recouperation for both teams The Briscoes might give them one last shot at the tag titles at the next PPV.

The Diva division is down to 1 (or 2 if you include JJ) after the Melissa's quit or queen victory but i doubt the Dark Queen will leave that easily. I'm not going to suggest it was a kayfabe firing but unlike previous BWA Diva's who have lost in such a match, I can imagine MsChif looking for vengeance against her former tag partner. There are also rumours that through her involvement with the BWA chairman Jenna Jameson is working on bringing in some big name talent to revitalise the division and in doing so fulfill her pledge to bring back it's attitude. There is already talk that currently unattched former BWA Diva Awesome Kong is in negotiations about a return but nothing is official. Generating even more of a reaction than this though is that Gina Carano is also supposidly deep in negotiations having been spotted at ringside at recent BWA Raw's and at KOTR.

The IC title is still held by Jushin Liger who after succesfully defending that belt against both Ultimo Dragon and The Great Sasuke is now looking forward to potential defending that belt as he represents the BWA against fighters from other promotions in the coming months with the Boards Monday Night Wars looking set for a round 2 and no doubt challlengers from CCW after the recent talent exchange deal. Meanwhile now would seem a likely time for Sasuke and Dragon to settle their differences in the ring as part of a 1-1 feud leading to the next PPV.

    Thanks
If you read all that you deserve thanks to begin with, also thanks to Gimmick and MNG for again running this and everyone who took part, fair play lads.

In asociation with NBC studios the BWA are proud to present:

    300px-The_Tonight_Show_with_Jay_Leno_2010-Intertitle.jpg

Jay Leno Opens the show and explains that tonights instalment of his show will be as advertised a Pro Wrestling special, he guarantees that every PW fan will be talking about his show tommorow and that you simply cannot miss what he has lined up for you tonight.

He then starts his intro by saying that he is a well known Pro Wrestling fan, he has a past that proves it (a few clips of his WCW days are shown) and he says he isnt afraid to admit it. He says that unlike when he was on TV involved in wrestling during what is now known as the "Attitude Era" it is no longer cool to like wrestling. He then suggests that, that all changed forever it seemed a few years back with a very high profile case involving Chris benoit but unfortunatly six months ago when it seemed Pro Wrestling was just getting mainstream acceptance again something happened again On a day he says, when it seemed all the negative fates alligned to seemingly bring about the end of modern PW as we know it with what he now refers to as the "TNA incident".
    jay-leno.jpg

a video promo is then shown documenting the incident which took place on TNA's very last ever attempt at a live monday night show. The WWE's monopoly had been broken and TNA once more were trying to take on the big boys with the BWA, WECWF & MNG promotions all already live on Monday night but one man threw a spanner into the works of that nights impact, that man was The Junkyard Dog. The clip then highlights how JYD, aka Sylvester Ritter was suffering from a very bad drug problem, a problem that directly lead to his bizzare antics that night. The Clip then finally shows 3 short segments from the actual show from that night.

The first sees a clearly high JYD perform an unscripted manuveur known as teabagging on his opponent later that night (Black Tiger) during a backstage segment, this was supposed to be a comedy skit but that, was never, what was supposed to happen live on air. Next some security footage is shown which catches the JYD slurring his words as he seems to be threatening the TNA president in her office. Then finally we a shown a clip from that nights main event, which the narrator explains had the JYD added to it as a result of his threatening behaviour earlier that night. In the bit of the match shown Ritter is a mess and a danger to his opponents safety a fact sadly highlighted when he locks in a ankle lock on Black Tiger whos ankle he broke live on TV by refusing to release the hold until long after a loud snap could be heard. To make matters even worse as Ritter was being take out of the arena by security a fan near the front row threw his soda at him and in retaliation the out of sorts JYD spat into the crowd. Replays on all news stations that night carried photos of the drugged up JYD unintentionnly spitting in a young female fans face as Black Tiger crys out in pain in the ring. A commen question asked by media outlets across the nation the next morning was if Ritter was "The Next Chris Benoit?"

We return to the studio where after Leno uninetionally makes a joke or two about how ironic the junkyard dog wrestling name is given his drug problems. He does this while highlighting how he us now going to adopt a more serious tone because what we just saw was the reason most professional wrestling shows were pulled from television schedules for the past few months and he says this is a serious topic. Once he is settled he introduces the man the whole controversy surrounded, The Junkyard Dog Sylvester Ritter.
    Junkyard-Dog-1-300x300.jpg

JYD looks great and credits Rehab and his sponsor for getting him clean & Sober, he tells Jay that he is back training and is getting back Mentally and Physically in top condition. He says that BWA chairman Bounty Hunter personally paid for all of this and he owes him a personal thank you but more than that he talks of his remorse for his actions that night and his actions leading up to that night. He admits that he was on a self distructive path and that he should have never let it go so far. He says he is up nights thinking about what he did to Black Tiger and the wrestling industry as a whole that night. He says that although he is truely sorry he is not going to ask for their forgivness, instead he wants to prove that he has changed and he wants to contribute to the industry that he has damaged before he is deserving of being forgiven.

Jay thanks JYD for coming here tonight especially as he informs the audience JYD has to head straight off because later tonight he is performing at a BWA house show in his first match back in the ring since the before eluded to incident.

Leno's mood then changes as he introduces his second guest replacing JYD on his couch, a man Jay describes as a personal friend and a former 2 time world heavyweight champion....Bobby Lashley

Lashley and Leno have a light hearted chat about the wrestling industry, Bobby's time fighting MMA, including the victory over Bob Sapp who has recently gotten back into PW, the contrast between those two industries and finally about Lashley's own return to Professional wrestling as he announces he has just signed a contract with the BWA.
    bobby-lashley-20091016082022171.jpg
pictured above is Bobby Lashley's expression as Leno introduced his next guest

When asked why he chose to sign with the BWA, Lashley once again brought up BWA chairman Bounty Hunter, he says that he simply made him and offer he couldent refuse and coupled with the kind of person he is as evident by his giving the JYD a second chance in the wrestling business he felt it would be a good fit. Lashley prepares to make way for the next guest but Leno says seing as they are friends he is going to ask him to stick around for a while as the host thinks he will enjoy meeting his next guest...Jenna Jameson
    jennajameson1.jpg

The world reknown Pornstar gets a great reception from the Audience although some seem puzzled to see her here. Leno says that he can see from their faces not everyone is familiar with her past experience in Pro Wrestling and asks her to explain. He reminds everyone that she knows how to get extreme in more than one way as she made a number of appearances with Extreme Championship Wrestling starting with the PPV Hardcore Heaven '97 as a valet for the Dudley family. She also mentions another appearance at ECW Living Dangerously on March 1, 1998 and talks about the few months where she was ECW's on-screen interviewer. Jay also comically makes light of a 1998 vignette she filmed with Val Venis, a character in the WWE at the time.

She then speaks about women in the industry today, the wrestling industry that is and she doesnt speak too highly of the current crop of "Divas". She says they have lost their attitude, saying that they went for the Jenna Jameson look to create the illusion of sex appeal but that sex appeal is all about attitude and that without that all you have is a load of talentless bimbos. She says that the audience has realised this and that that is the reason that Divas matches these days are often reffered to as "piss break time".

This brings her nicely to the answer of Jay's next question which relates to her current involvement in PWA, specifically the BWA. She says that she wants to bring the attitude back to PW and that that is why she has returned to this what she describes as her second industry and it is also why she has brought her man back to the industry he loves. She also then notes that it was ironic that the one big name women with attitude left in the busines Vicky Guerrero had to lose her contract with the BWA to bring about her arrival but says that although Vicky got your attension it got you to switch the channel, but with her she says eyes will be kept peeled to the screne. She is then however pressed about who "her man" is by Leno, which leads her to introduce his final guest for the evening the man she manages and motivates, the (self-proclaimed) Master and Ruler of the World and former 6 time world champion Psycho Sid Vicious
    psychosidposter.jpg

After Sid emerges from the back Leno plays a clip showing Jenna and his recent arrival in the BWA coming from out of nowhere and interupting a match between former BWA competitors Kerry Von Erich & Muhammad Hussan. With Jameson screaming orders at him and with the elment of surprise to his advantage he impressively took out both men upon his arrival. Both recieving huge powerbombs and being placed on the injured list until their contacts expired. A few quick shots are also shown of him dismantling local jobbers in seconds in the following week once again with Jenna at ringside.

When we return Sid talk about how good it feels to be back inside a wrestling ring doing what he does best, inflicting pain on others. Leno then asks him if he can sum up exactly why he is here tonight, if there is any one thing he wants to say to the millions watching at home? Jenna however is the one who answers here and says that the previous video clip should say all he viewing public need to know about Sid, he's back and he means business, however she says he does have a message for all the other wrestler contracted to the BWA. Sid steps up out of his seat now and states "Nobody is as dominant as me, nobody is as ruthless as me, nobody is as powerfull as me, and nobody can stand up to what I have to offer. One by one I will take you all out if you stand in my way because nobody can defeat me!!

Sid's intense glare into the camera as his statement sinks in is interupted though by Bobby Lashley defiantly saying "I CAN!" as he stands up to go eye to eye with Sid. Luckily a number of large security guards break the two of them up beforey the come to blows and eventually at Leno's behest Lashley makes his way to the back avoiding an on air confrontation.
    photobodyguard.jpg

After everything is calmed down Leno reminds everone of his words at the beginning of the show where he said no PW fan should miss the show as he had a number of bombshells for them the first of which he can no longer wait to announce. He then lets the world know that in 4 and a half weeks time the BWA will hold it's first ever King of the Ring tournament and that at that PPV and during the build up he has signed a deal to join the BWA commentary team. He says he cannot wait to be lined up beside good old JR Jim Ross in the commentary booth and see all the best PW action first hand. He also states that this deal means that each and every week he will have access to the biggest stars in the BWA on his show and will continue to provide the most indept and up to date coverage to the masses of prefessional wrestling fans as a result.

Similarily to the others he asked tonight he then speaks about why he chose to make this deal with the BWA and once again highlights how negotiating with BWA chairman was a delight compared to his past dealing with PW management but he does admit that the sheer amount of big announcements that the man known simply as Bounty Hunter has afforded him to make did also make his decision much easier, before he starts to make his second big BWA related anouncement but this one he gives a bit more of a backstory.

He says that since "the Incident" as he had said previously most promotions found TV deals hard to come by and that the BWA were not seperate from this fact but that his own employers at NBC had taken a chance with the BWA on a short term TV & PPV deal considering their reputation was exemplary until the world of PW was rocked by this incident. However that deal like virtually all of the ones secured by promotions in the wake of the TNA incident had certain PG guidlines as a part of it and again like with the other promotions the BWA has admitted recently it has suffered somewhat creatively by having limitations imposed upon it. Therefore he is pleased that his curent employers have allowed him to announce the BWA's switch of programming provider as of the KOTR PPV. He says it is very big of them to higlight such a presticious brand leaving their shores but says he will do his best to bring fans right back her for his show who have watched him on the now home of the BWA as of this night next week, when BWA Raw will go live on HBO
    200px-HBO_logo.svg.png

He talks about how the BWA always saw itself as the HBO of the wrestling scene or so as to speak. They dont pander to the idea that you have to do something non PG all the time because its your hook instead just dont limit ideas and promos creatively and if it feels like someone should drop an f-bomb, give a vicious beatdown or do something else non pg then let them etc once its properly planned and controlled. Dont push blood and hardcore etc but if two wrestlers decide in the heat of a rivalry to do what some critics would call an extra spot that maybe they wouldent do with a majority underage audience because of how it looks, well perhaps let them etc. He says that HBO was an obvious fit for the BWA as it heads into a new chapter in its storied history and that he is proud to be there at the beginning.

He then aknowledges that he is breaking off from his announcements but now, as a temporary member of the BWA roster, he wanted to call out Eric Bischoff and WECWF on something. He says that over the past few weeks we have heard Bischoff and co. repeat that Vince McMahon left the MNG and Hulk Hogan left the BWA while he was still in the WECWF and according to him this means he won the monday night war. Leno calls this an incredible claim considering both WECWF and MNG were left in the BWAs wake in terms of ratings and PPV numbers last year. If anything the fact that Bischoff is still there while Hogan has left shows that the BWA has continued to evolve while the WECWF just stands still. He also quips that it seems Bischoff cant even control his own promotion let alone monday nights, before going as far as to bring up the results from the WECWF vs BWA vs MNG ppv last year which although controversial clearly did not make good reading for MNG & WECWF.
    MNW.jpg

He then says his final 2 big announcements can wait till atleast his next show as he instead will play us out tonight with a video recapping how the BWA has evolved this past year. He says that not all his late night shows will be like this but that if fans are watching who wouldent normally tune into wrestling that they should watch this and re-evaluate their opinion on the industry as it's the best of the best.

Below we have highlighted some of the more important recent developments this video showcases to Leno's vast TV audience.

The video starts at the top of the card where Rikidozan's dominant reign as WHC is recapped
    300_116179.jpg

it goes all the way back to when he did what everyone else has failed to do and killed Hulkamania when both mens careers in the BWA aswell as the title were on the line. He had done all this and remained undefeated having been victorious over Roddy Piper in his debut at BWA:Re-Awakening and yet he still didnt get the respect he felt he deserved from the BWA fans. This made him bitter and angry, with him taking his rage out on his opponents for the title. Most recently it shows how he stirred up controversy with Jerry "The King" Lawler over considering himself the King of the BWA and how he has been seen to be keeping Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat at arms lenght with Kenta Kobashi among others blocking his path.
    rickydragon.jpg

It was actually in that feud that Kenta seemed to finally win over the BWA audience, turning his back on his former leader and his cries to Injure steamboat, as instead the two faced off after a show of respect to see who the better man was. Steamboat won but on another night it could have easily gone the other way. The video also recaps how a month before that Kenta's tag partner Mitsuharu Misawa had gotten injured during a match between them and the current BWA tag team champions the Brisco brothers, however this is done more to higlight that his return from injury is iminent. Misawa like Rikidozan never quite liked having to speak English and used a translater. Although in Misawa's case it was Kenta's broken English that acted as his translater, the video then hints at question of how they will co-exist when Misawa returns now that Kobashi has defied Rikidozan.

It also then briefly highlights a number of the other new BWA superstars including the IC champ Jushin "Thunder" Liger and the BWA tag team champions The Briscoes.
    200px-Jushin_Liger.jpglawler-jerry02.jpg

As the show ends the NBC studios logo is standing side by side with the BWA logo pictured below indication this was a joint production between both brands.
    lrg_BWA.gif

After a few seconds the old BWA logo fades out and this newer logo appears beside its HBO counterpart, which replaces NBC... this truely is a new era for the BWA

    Welcome to BWA Raw!
    raw.gif

The Pyro's go off as JR introduces his announce partner for the forseable future Jay Leno. Leno takes his seat at ringside and talks briefly about how good it is to be here on BWA Raw but it isnt long before the show itself begins to be the talking point for our commentators as Kenta Kobashi's music hits and the Asian superstar makes his way down to the ring with a mic in his hand. He recieves a big cheer from the fans at this time and Leno with his first insightfull comment notes that this is the first time the fans have been fully behind Kenta. During his feud with Ricky Steamboat they recap, he won the fans over, by turning his back on Rikidozan and showing Steamboat the respect the BWA audience believed he deserved and then as the two put on a wrestling clinic. Kobashi doesnt milk the fan reaction though and if anything trys to transfer it immediately to the man whom he quickly introduces using his the best of his english. "Welcome back, my tag team partner and best friend to the BWA, welcome back Mitsuharu Misawa"
    250px-LEGEND....jpg

The Introduction puts Misawa over the top and now both men are recieving face reactions from the crowd. As Misawa enters the ring Kobashi hand him the Mic before getting another one as his partner begins to speak in Japanese. After each few sentances Kenta translates the best he can with his broken English....

Misawa Translated by Kenta: I'ts good to be back in the BWA, Big plans we still have for this place and they begin tonight. We defeated everyone and dominated the tag division, we remained unbeaten for months, and have now even won the fans over. But that all ends now!

Slightly confused by what he just translated Kobashi continues to speak saying that what Misawa means is that since Injury forced them apart they have once again gotten a taste of singles competition. That they have proven themselves the best tag team in not only the BWA but also the whole of Professional wrestling but now perhaps it was time to prove just how good they are as singles competitors. He says up until know they acted in unison with Rikidozan and never got a chance to fight for the world title as a result but that that too has now changed.

The Camera focusses on Misawa's face for a moment and he looks like he is staring a hole into the back of Kobashi's skull. Kobashi then begins to wrap up his promo by saying that ever since the announcement that the next PPV would be the BWA's first ever King of the Ring PPV there has been rumours that whoever gets crowned the KOTR 2011 will also be made the new no.1 contender for Rikidozan's title. He says that they intend to be in that tournament and earn the right to face and beat their former leader for the World Heavyweight Championship. He then says that thats why tonight as a team they wanted to pay respect to the fans who have finally accepted them and say goodbye as a tag team. The Camera shifts back to Misawa then who is still staring at Kenta but now it is clear that he looks set to snap for some reason and the moment Kobashi finishes his speach he does to the shock of the crowd.

Its a sneak attack from behind and knocks Kobashi to the ground where he is subject to a vicious and unrelenting beatdown after which Misawa grabs a microphone and screams the following in Japanese before exiting the ring:
    私は受諾を必要としない! 私は必要としない! 私達の原因のあなたの背部を回せばこれは得るものにである!

After the commentaters show replays and JR talks about how it didnt take long for business to pick up once Leno joined him we are taken to a Backstage segment where we see Bobby Lashley is hitting on Jenna Jameson who actually asks what would former WWE Diva Krystal think of this, but Bobby can be heard to say "check my wiki if you dont believe me, we dated past tense" as we cut to commercial.
    jenna_jameson-erotica-LA-01.jpg

When we return JR is recalling that he thought Lashley and Krystal had a kid together but eventually decides it matters not and it isn't worth argueing with Leno over (Jay insists his friend Lashley is just being a gentleman with Ms Jameson and meerly paid her a few compliments) and instead starts building up our first match of the night in Which current WHC Rikidozan will aim to acert his dominance once again but this time in a non title match against the Intercontinental champion Jushin Liger.

Leno then adds that as we are continuing with the all japanese start to his BWA debut show he thought he would share the translation he just obtained of what Misawa had to say to kobashi minutes ago in the ring.
I dont need their acceptance! I dont need you! turn your back on our cause and this is what you get!

Match 1: Rikidozan vs Jushin Liger - non title match

The early goings in this match seem to put Liger over big time with the IC champion surprising the WHC and really pushing him to the limit. However as things developed Rikidozan seemed to get the upperhand with a very physical approach. It was the underhanded tactics that put a sour on this one and took away from what was a great wrestling exhibition, Misawa re-emerged at ringside and while the ref was warning him not to get involved Rikidozan delivered a low blow. It was again saddening to see such a grate wrestler portray such a poor champion when he later raked Ligers eyes to set him up for a piledriver and the 3 count.

    Winner: Rikidozan

After the match Rikidozan makes a short announcement similar to Misawa's just a little earlier except this time we dont have to wait for Leno to find a translation as his personal translator expalins he is setting down a challenge for Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat to earn a shot at him. He said that he keeps getting accused of avoiding facing Steamboat for the title, that people say he fears The Dragon but nothing could be further from the truth. He states that he doesent think Ricky is good enough to compete for his belt but is willing to give him a chance to prove otherwise tonight. He says that he has organised a match especially for tonight and that if Steamboat can win he will give him a title shot at the King of The Ring but if he doesent he should give up his futile quest for gold and accept that, (this last bit is said as Rikidozan holds the belt aloft in one hand while Misawa raises his other hand) he will never be this good.
    Rikidozan.jpg

    *commercial break*

When we return we are shown a video recapping the past few months in the lif of the Junkyard Dog, from when he was branded "The Next Chris Benoit" by the media to his recent return to Pro Wrestling with the BWA. It shows how he has fought to get himself back in shape, clean and sober and the huge help he recieved from BWA chairman Bounty Hunter aswell as his sponser Jerry "The King" Lawler who himself went through a serial womanizing phase in recent years as a result of a terrible sex addiction. As we return from the video Leno informs the crowd that the JYD's first match since "the incident" is up next!

At that point we cut to the JYD's dressing room as Lawler can be seen leaving the room and his sponsee who is clearly trying to psyche himself up for his first taste of live BWA action.

back at ringside though everyone's attension is taken up by the arrival of Jenna Jameson who quickly introduces the wrestler she once again introduces as her man Sid Vicous.

Match 2: JYD vs Sid Vicious w/Jenna Jameson

Leno's personal friend Bobby Lashley joins commentary for this one, at first he is relatively quiet only speaking about his admiration for how the JYD had turned himself around as his attension seems to primarily focussed on Jenna's ass. JYD equits himself well avoiding all Sid's attempted big attacks and taking him down on a number of occasions and each time hitting him with various trypes of headbuts. Something however seems to stir JYD as suddenly he seems transfixed on the crowd completely ignorant of Sid who takes advantage catching him with a big boot which he follows up with a chokeslam. The camera then shows the area of the crowd that JYD was looking at quickly before returning back to the ring but after that glimpse Leno starts shouting about spotting Black Tiger in the crowd! In ring Sid delivers a Release powerbomb and gets the win.

    Winner: Sid

Sid & Lashley have a brief staredown as Sid gets Jenna at ringside and heads to the back after which Leno makes them show a replay of the crowd where a Tiger Mask can be clearly seen being worn by someone in the crowd.
    vicious-sid02.jpg

When he is able to get up a myriad of emotions can be seen on the Junkyard Dog's face from confusion to depression but he is clearly an emotional wreck as he makes his way to the back helped by his Sponsor Jerry Lawler.

Backstage interview: BWA tag team champions The Briscoes are angry at having to face mystery opponents for their tag titles tonight, in a match announced last week, but they assure Josh that the belts are staying where they are.
    Briscoes-2.jpg

As the Briscoes wait in the ring to find out their oponents the match is announced as a tag team tables match, a fact which seems to take them by surprise but not their opponents who arrive to the ring with their own table in hand and are the team of Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge aka The Public Enemy

Match 3 - Tables match for the BWA tag team titles: The Briscoes vs The Public Enemy

The Crowd are split, normally fans of the BWA tag champs they seem caught up in the momentum of the moment and get behind The Public Enemy who turn this into a brawl early on. moments of dominance seem short lived on both sides though as when they take the time to set up a table their opponents seem to always be back to their feet and on the offensive. Eventually when the action sees all four men in the ring together The Briscoes seem to take the advantage with a Spinebuster (Jay) / Springboard spinning wheel kick (Mark) combination to Rocco Rock, before takng out Grunge with a Pendulum backbreaker (Jay) / Diving knee drop (Mark) combination. The crowd are on their feet and show their appreciation with a "This is Awesome" chant which the Briscoes lap up. Perhaps even letting it go to their head a little as they are almost showboating with their attempted finale as both Mark and Jay attempt simultanious shooting star presses. Unfortunatley they miss as both their opponents roll out of the way at the last moment (perhaps playing possum suggests JR). In an instance the match has been turned on its head with Rock & Grunge getting to their feet as both Briscoes are left writhing in pain. Quickly Public enemy bring their table into the ring and Rocco sets it up while his partner continues the beatdown on Jay Briscoe before tossing him to the outside as his brother groggily gets to his feet only to immediatly get a swift kick to the stomach from Rocco who tosses him onto the table. Rock then climbs the turnbuckle and with the crowd still on their feet Grunge throws Rock into an assisted somersault senton and crashing down onto his opponent who he drives through the table. The place errupts as new tag team champions are declared.

    Winners: the Public Enemy
    03.jpg

The Public Enemy celebrate with the belts then make their way from the ring throw the crowd as they continue to celebrate their win. Meanwhile back in the ring Mark helps Jay back to his feet and despite their loss the fans applaud their performance tonight

Backstage Jerry "The King" Lawler can be seen making his way out to the ring

    *commercial break*

In ring segment: Jerry bemoans Steamboat getting a shot at Rikidozan before him at the KOTR ppv saying that the main event should be a matter of royalty and that the reason the current champ recently referred to himself as the king of the BWA is because he has risen to the top of the food chain just like Lawler who suggests the main event of the ppv should be to see who the real King of the BWA is... he is however at this point interupted by the unexpected sound of Harley Race's entrance music.

Race runs down Lawler calling him a joke of a man. Lawler demands respect and says he has earned it citing many of his achievements, he also mentions his sponsoring of the Junkyard Dog at which point Race once more cuts him off. He says that he knows thats not why he is "helping" JYD, he says that everyone in the arena knows that and then speaks about how Lawler always needs someone to back him up. Be it his wife, son or whoever Lawler has always had someone there to help him out, but you know what he says, JYD will be gone just like all of them when he realises your just using him. Again Lawler tries to defend himself only for Race to once more interupt him this time shouting him down with a string of "blah, blah, blah!"

Race says he isnt going to go through a big spiel to get where he is going, you want The King vs The King so much how about this, you name the time and place and ill be there to kick your ass and prove who the real King of The Ring is! It's not Rkidozan and it sure as hell aint you! he then drops his mic and abruptly leaves.
    race2.jpg

Backstage segment: Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat is interviewed backstage by Josh Matthews where he says that he isn't going to claim to be the King of the BWA but that he is going to re-iterate the vow he made when he first arrived in the promotion. He says he will become the BWA world heavyweight champion, of that he knows. He also says he knows that he can beat Rikidozan if the japanese superstar sticks to his word, because tonight, no matter who his opponent is, he says he will be victorious. It's at this point that Josh informs the champion chaser that it isn't an opponent he has tonight, it's opponents. Steamboat seems unfazed however and says "wll alright then" as he heads off towards the ring.

    *Commercial*

Main Event: Ricky Steamboat vs Ultimo Dragon & The Great Sasuke

A handicap match this may be but The Dragon's opponents have to tag in and out so Steamboat holds his own in the early going here. Infact he seems to be ontop if anything but as things progress he does begin to tire. Despite this he almost gets a 3 count after multiple chop variations from Ricky have Sasuke off balance at which point he goes for a small package. If it were not for Ultimo Dragons interferance Steamboat would have gotten the win but unfortunatly that became a repeating theme in this one and it seems like Steamboat may be beginning to lose heart. It's at this point that Rkidozan comes out onto the ramp to get a closer look at this match but luckily for Ricky it's also when the first cracks start to appear in his opponents. firstly when Dragon tags himself in against Sasuke's wishes tempers begin to flair and then later when Dragon ignores Sasuke's outreached hand the japanese wrestler loses his cool a fact pushed to the limit when Steamboat reverses an attempt at a Tiger suplex and when behind Dragon hits a big dropkick sending him straight into his tag partner for the night, who in turn is sent tumbling to the floor. Steamboat then ascends the turnbuckle and as Dragon is getting back to his feet hits a big diving crossbody and immediatley goes for the pin. 1, 2, 3 and it looks like we have a new No.1 contender for Rikidozan's WHC

    Winner: Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
    wrestling-the-best-of-ricky-steamboat-19-disc-dvd-set-eec07.jpg

As we go off air the last image you see is a brief staredown between WHC champion Rikidozan and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat who is point at the belt in Rikidozan's hand then making a belt gesture around his waste. Will Rikidozan stay true to his word and now finally give The Dragon his shot?

    later that night...
    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSnzk7D0y397BbzLibPvmmGFmQHr8ucU8plgz_VPmqUt378Gzlz&t=1

His interviews with BWA stars tonight were a lot less controversial than last time too as they seem to hear exactley what they want from Leno throughout.

Firstly he informs The Briscoes that BWA chairman Bounty Hunter has been in touch before he relays a message from him as it regards the BWA tag team titles. He says that earlier tonight the odds were perhaps unfairly stacked against The Briscoes when they had to defend their tag team titles against a surprise team. Not only that but when the team was announced as The Public Enemy, a stipulation was added to the match making it TPE's specialty, a tables match. unlike The Briscoes, this meant TPE had knowledge of both who they were facing and what format the face off would take which obviously would have given them an advantage going into the match so before The Briscoes can even air a griveance to Jay, the chairman says that he apologises for not creating a level playing field for them. Leno then states that, that is why BH went on to say the Briscoes will fight the Public enemy again this week in what will be the 2nd of a best of 5 series between the team where if needed at the King of The Ring PPV a deciding match can take place to crown the undisputed BWA tag team champions. Before finishing Leno adds that the next time they face off against TPE the match type will be their choice.

Then comes His interview with Ricky Steamboat and tbh this is mostly positive and congratulatory after Steamboats big win tonight (which is briefly recapped). Surely now they say Rikidozan will have to give Steamboat a shot at the world title and the ponder if that could happen at King of The Ring. The one serious moment in the interview comes about when Leno points out that Ricky has never held the WWF, WCW or BWA world titles while talking about perhaps why Rikidozan hasnt considerd Steamboat to be worthy of challenging him until now. Ricky says he has made a vow to change this and says that he strives to be the very best, to put on the best matches for the fans but also to win them and that be it at BWA King of The Ring at Madison Square Garden or Monday night Raw next week in Philly, when he gets his shot he intends to take it and not let that title slip from his grasp once more. He says he could have went to MNG or WECWF and won their titles but he wanted a real challenge and if Rikidozan has the guts he expects to get that in a wrestling classic in Madison Square Garden.
    flip-m.jpg
When questioned about Ricky's quest for the title Paris had this to say "that's hot i'd so f*ck him"

This is Jay's first PW dominated show that is half a normal show and he does state that on the nights when he doesent follow BWA Raw his shows will remain focussed primarily on current events which dont just revolve around PW, but that even then he assures the BWA fans he will still have a few lil recaps, interviews and announcements to keep you all interested.

Jay's BWA Guests: The Briscoe Brothers, Ricky "The Dragon Steamboat"
Jay's Normal guests: Paris Hilton (personal friend of Jenna Jameson) & the comedy stylings of Dylan Moran who does a PW related routine.

    Welcome to BWA Raw!
    raw.gif

In ring Segment: One of the BWA's younger Japanese superstars starts tonights broadcast and unlike their older counterparts the younger asian stars all have very good English. The Great Sasuke cuts a promo about how he had the world at his feet a few weeks back with all major promotions wanting his signature after he indicated he was once again willing to leave Japan. He goes on then to explain why he chose the BWA, he says unlike others he didnt come here because of the BWA's gratious owner Bounty Hunter although he did mention how much he appreciated the BWA's substantial medical scheme. Instead he says his reasons for choosing the BWA all started with a tweet! a Tweet from the man he was forced to team with last week.

He says that he didnt know if it was a joke or serious at first but via the social networking site Twitter newly signed BWA star Ultimo Dragon sent sasuke this picture:
    UltimoDragon-1.jpg

Sasuke says that he thought Asai was only joking but when he suggested as much he got a torrent of abuse back including the following which he tweeted in both Japanese & Spanish. "No im not joking, you can and never will be on my level! I held 11 different titles simultaniously something you could never do as your just a mere wannabe, and one who's ass i'd love to kick one day"

Sasuke says he doesent know if it was Dragons plan to lure him here to the BWA but if it was, It Worked! He says if you want to talk about titles I've had my fair share (at which point the below picture is shown on the titantron) but there is one title that ive never held and you know what ive noted neither have you. That title is The BWA Intercontinental championship and I plan to challenge Jushin Li.....
    J-Crown.jpg

Just then Ultimo Dragon's music hits and the mexican born superstar makes his way out. He makes his way half way down towards the ramp before stopping and taking out a microphone. He says that he has to restrain himself as he already has a match set for tonight, it's up next infact but he says that if Sasuke wants to dispute what he tweeted to him all he has to to do is wait a week, then bring it because like he said he would love to kick Sasuke's ass. Dragon does however aknowledge that yes as he has never held the BWA IC championship and admits that it is what brought him to this promotion and suggests that maybe after he defeats his opponent tonight and Sasuke when he gets the opportunity he will finally be made given his rightfull shot at Liger's belt...
    kM9ok1iyMV0JjzQ.jpg

it's the second mention of his name tonight and this time it brings out the IC champ Jushin Liger to the stage. Liger takes a moment to soak up the very positive reaction he gets from the fans before telling both men that he has been simply loving this so far. The arrival to the BWA of two men he has faced previously in absolute classics both of whom have their sights set directly on his intercontinental title. Both men look a little bit surprised at his delight at their desire of his belt but he goes on to state that in just a few short week it will be time for BWA King of The Ring and that he is not only looking for a challenger and an opponent for him at that PPV but that he is looking for someone good enough to not just be a King but to beat one! At which point he says that if either Ultimo Dragon who is facing Harley Race or The Great Sasuke who will later face Jerry "The King" Lawler can defeat their illustrious opponents then he will let them have their shot at the PPV. Before heading to the back (as does Sasuke a few second later) Liger wishes both men good luck and he says they will need it especially you Dragon as you have to face this man! and with that Harley Race emerges from the back and we are ready for our first match of the evening.

Match 1: Ultimo Dragon vs Harley Race

Ultimo Dragon starts this one strong showcasing a number of big kick combinations but Race's power soon beccomes a factor in the contest as a high knee strike steals tthe momentum. He follows that off by hitting a vertical suplex on Dragon before ascending to the top rope, a rarity for him but he is obviously thinking about going for his diving headbutt. He stops however as he notices Jerry Lawler making his way out towards the ring. He jumps down snd goes straight over to the ropes near Lawler and starts shouting at him. A rookie mistake from this seasoned veteran though as Ultimo Dragon has now recouperated and grabs him from behind in a roll up pin, 1-2-3! and we have a winner.

    Winner: Ultimo Dragon

Dragon makes his way out of the arena as Jerry Lawler laughs, race looks seriously pissed in the ring though so Lawler does not wait around for a reaction from him and as JR says he hightails it outta there.
    ultimo.jpg

Backstage segment: JYD is in a frantic state watching and rewatching his match from last week trying to get a good look at the figure in the crowd that appeared to be wearing a Black Tiger mask. Eventually when he returns to their dressing room his sponsor Jerry Lawler calms him down by reminding him that the man that he injured, the man who wore the Tiger mask in TNA with him isnt on the BWA roster. He convinces JYD that it was either his mind playing tricks on him or meerly a fan wearing a mask lasst week before turning the topic to his own troubles primarily what to do about Harley Race who will no doubt seek retribution against Lawler. However he cant dwell on that thought too long as he has a match later tonight that he says he must prepare for.

Elsewhere backstage Sid Vicious can be seen entering the arena solo and asking a number of production hands/security personal at the entrance if they have seen his manager Jenna Jameson anywhere as he's looking for her. One smart ass replies he has seen all of her but then when Sid shoots him an angry look he immediatly points down the corridor and sheepishly says "she was down that way a while ago"

Video Recap: We then get a video recap of Jay Leno's big announcement with regards the tag team titles on his monday night late show last week and how we now find ourselves in the midst of a best of 5 series between The Public Enemy & The Briscoe brothers. As we return from it Leno reminds us that as was said in the clip the Briscoes had the choice of stipulations this week and its just been announced that it will be a Falls count anywhere tornado tag match. JR says that perhaps the younger, faster & more agile Briscoes think that they will be better suited to using the arena to their advantage in such a match, lets see if he is right...

Best of 5 series for the tag team titles match 2: Falls count anywhere tornado tag - The Briscoes vs The Public Enemy

Once again the crowd seem split down the middle for this one although Leno suggests that a lot of that may be because its so hard to dislike them consider they have the hotstepper (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0G4vOm4ZYg) as their entrance theme.

This is another real back and forth contest but if we fast forward to the end Rocco and Mark are brawling by the annouce table while their partners are just getting back to the ring after fighting through the crowd. Rocco tries to suplex Mark into the ring post but the Briscoe brother resists and reverses it into a suplex of his own dropping Rocco onto an announce table. Meanwhile in the ring there is a second reversal as Johnny grunge goes for a bulldog on Jay Briscoe and ends up getting tossed through the ropes landing at Marks feet who then suplexs Grunge right onto his tag partner ontop of the table. "how is that table still standing" says Leno but JR says that BWA announce tables are build of strong stuff emphasising how much those moves must have hurt. "dont think it's going to last much longer though" says Leno as his namesake Jay Briscoe ascendes the turnbuckle before hitting a frog splash simultaniously hitting both his opponents. Jay rolls off in pain, really selling the move as Mark makes the pinfall on the outside.

Winners: The Briscoes - now tied 1 win each
    briscoeformefu6.png

Backstage segment: Sid is still searching for his manager but it seems he's found her at last as he hears her voice coming froom a dressing room door so we see a big smile of relief on his face. This quickly changes though as he hears her cry out and he quickly opens the door. On the other side is not what he expects though as he is greeted by the lit up face of Jerry Lawler who is enjoying a mvoie on his laptop. Sid gives Lawler a look of disgust before turning and continuing his search down the hallway, it seems the self proclaimed master of the universe doesent appreciate Lawler's way of preparing for a match.
    picture.php?albumid=1163&pictureid=6030

Match 3: Jerry lawler vs The Great Sasuke

This one follows a similar format to the first match of the night with "The King" growing into the match after some very impressive early moves from his opponent including a Sasuke Special II ( Cartwheel into an over the top rope corkscrew moonsaul) early on. Then just as Lawler seems to be getting on top out comes Harley Race to return the favour from earlier. He looks seriously annoyed and charges towards the ring but Jerry rolls out of it on the opposite side before he gets there. Race circles the ring trying to get to Lawler who is now standing by the rampway as the referee starts to count him out. Lawler notices this and after a few moments where he seems to be considering getting back into the ring he turns his back and heads up the ramp. He dissapears behind the curtain momentarily as the ref counts to 10 and announces via Disqualification The Great Sasuke the winner.

    Winner: The great Sasuke

Lawler then re-emerges with a microphone in his hand and says that yes because of his actions early tonight he was kinda asking for Race to come out here but since he is here now its time he learns the consequnces for his actions last week. He then reminds everyone how Harley Race interupted his staking a claim for a title match last week including him asking for Lawler to name the time and place for an ass kicking. Lawler simply states that although that is a comical notion it's easily done. 3 weeks, King of the Ring, Madison square Garden, never has a PPV name been more fitting he says before ala Race from last week he just drops the mic with a thud and abruptly leaves..
    01Great+Sasuke.jpg

    *ad break*

Backstage segment: JYD is trying to return the favour from earlier tonight and relax his sponsor Jerry Lawler who has just returned to the lockeroom. That is until he opens his locker to see a Black Tiger mask hanging in plain view which immediatley causes him to freak out.

Elsewhere Sid finally finds Jenna Jameson in a corridor talking to Bobby Lashley. Before he arrives Lashley says his goodbyes and gets out of there but it doesent seem to matter as Sid immediatley blows up over his presence. Sid questions why Jenna seemed so cosy with Bobby Lashley last week, and why he couldent find her anywhere yet here she is talking to him again. Jenna however simply says that he needs to trust her, she was acting in his best interest and says that Lashleys close friend Jay Leno would reveal all on his show later tonight. the two continue to talk as they walk down the corridor out of earchot as the cameras return to ringside so the commentaters can start bigging up tonights main event which is next!
    jenna+jameson+tattoo+5.jpg

before the main event begins Rikidozan & Mitsuharu Misawa make their way out to the ring, microphone in hand and translater by there side. Rikidozan talks about how he was almost impressed last week by Ricky Steamboat but he still doesent think he is worthy of challenging him (this gets a big Booing from the crowd). He says that if not for the obvious anamosity between Ultimo Dragon & the Great Sasuke we wouldent have had a chance and says that frankly his choice of tag partners tonight also does not impress him. Despite all that he says he is willing to face him in this match tonight to give him one final chance to prove his worth. Go, on change my mind Steamboat, prove there is someone worthy of facing the Great Rkidozan.

Main Event: Rikidozan & Mitsuharu Misawa vs Ricky Steamboat & Kenta Kobashi

This is an even contest throughout but Steamboat is kept away from Rikidozan the entire bout with Misawa tagging in anytime "The Dragon" is in the ring. The match seems to be two seperate battles at times one where Rikidozan has the slight upper hand on Kobashi and another where Steamboat seems to have the edge over Misawa, yet all the while each man perhaps possibly Rikidozan seems desperate to get their hands on their other tag opponent. The finish comes after Rikidozan removes the turnbuckle cover in his corner while Misawa and Steamboat go at it in the ring. Then after Misawa drives Steamboat into the exposed turnbuckle Rikidozan tags in and faces the Dragon for the first time in the ring. He slowly waits for Steamboat to rise to his feet while signalling that it's time for his Rikidozan special piledriver but as he trys to pick up Steamboat, Ricky gets a sudden burst of energy grabbing his arms and blocking him as his eyes light up at the realisation that he finally has his hands on the champ. there is a flurry of right hands between the two but Steamboat actually comes out on top chopping Rikidozan so hard he makes him stumble back into his corner. Steamboat then hits a big dropkick sending the champ flying into the exposed turnbuckle and the crowd into raptures. Misawa tags himself in and it seems Rikidozan has been cut open as he rolls out of the ring immediatly throwing to stop blood from gushing out of his forhead. Misawa charges Steamboat but is caught in an armbar takedown which while Steamboat temp holds with 1 arm he reaches up and tags in Kobashi before quickly going back to a two armed armbar. Kenta immediatly jumps onto the top turnbuckle and performs a diving leg drop to his former tag partner and as Rikidozan looks on from the apron gets the 1-2-3.

Winners: Ricky Steamboat & Kenta Kobashi
    RickySteamboat008.jpg

Thats the first match Rikidozan has lost in over a year in the BWA, he's gotta rate Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat now! says JR as BWA goes off the air.

    ...Later that night
    the_tonight_show_with_jay_leno_186x250.jpg

Jay has two BWA guests tonight the first of which again is his friend Bobby Lashley. This is used to recap the interaction between him and Sid Vicious the last time Bobby was on the show after which Bobby re-iterates that he can defeat Sid. Leno then jokingly questions him about his flirting with Jenna Jameson as clips are once more shown from the past two weeks of Raw of the talking, Sid's reaction to this and finally Jameson's announcement that she was meeting with Lashley to help Sid and that all would be revealed on tonights Show. Therefore Jay is proud to be able to make another big BWA announcement and say that the first match officially booked for BWA King of The Ring would be Sid Vicious w/Jenna Jameson vs Bobby Lashley with him, Jay Leno, in Lashley's corner. He says that Jenna knew, and he agreed with her, that this is the most high profile match either man could have as it seems that Ricky Steamboat is next in line WHC. Lashley seems to be relishing it saying it will give him a chance to prove his word and beat Sid.

    BobbyLashley.jpg

Later in the show Harley Race Is interviewed and talks about the disgust he feels for the man he says is masquerading under "The King" moniker. He runs down all his past indescetions of which there are many starting with the times he was fired and culminating with all his problems with the ladies. He says that at the King of the ring he will prove who the real King of the BWA is, when he takes on Lawler at King of The ring, where he says the sex addict will be made pay for all these indescretions at once.

Leno takes this chance to make his second big announcement of the night as it relates to Race and his comments. He says that the BWA chairman has just announced the tournament matches for the KOTR 2011 and that in the now 2nd and 3rd official matches at BWA KOTR we will see Harley Race vs Jerry Lawler & Kenta Kobashi vs his former partner Mitsuharu Misawa for the right to compete over the title of King of the BWA, a title which will carry with it a no.1 contenders position.

This point in the show would usually signal the end of Leno's BWA announcements and a move back to general main stream stories and celebs like on a normal night. Hoever he instead chooses now to once more aknowledge the BWA chairman Bounty Hunter for allowing him to continue to make these big announcements, especially the next one. He then says that he has been told that at BWA King of The Ring he will be given the green light to make his biggest announcement yet, when he will reveal the identity of Bounty Hunter himself to the BWA roster and worldwide audience.

He then says that it may not be too much of a surprise to some that he has now decided to reveal his identity as only recently the man who's true identy remains a mystery even to his employees joined the social networking site twitter and as these two recent tweets show he is both ready to become more vocal and keeping an eye on the competition.
looks like 2 King of The Ring tournaments are going head to head this year, fusion pro doesent stand a chance! BWA KOTR 2011 FTW

ha Oprah just tried to buy a stake in the BWA, told her that MNG or WECWF might be more in her price range, cant afford the main event tho
    http://twitter.com/#!/BWABountyHunter

It's the 2nd of those quotes that he uses to once again slip some BWA talk in amongst his non wrestling talk with his later guest.

    zoDvk.jpg
Oprah: "I Tweeted Bounty Hunter about buying a stake in the BWA but he wasnt interested"

Leno's BWA guests: Bobby Lashley, Harley Race
Non BWA guests: Oprah and the RHCP providing music

    Anyways..

Anyone have any idea what sort of role he'll play?
Haven't seen any sort of Australian anything dramas etc in agessss, so i know i'll watch it on youtube and just laugh or something for a while then move on with my life.

But i can't wait to see how his acting is in a "legitimate" tv show.

Well the bloke with the beard played a wrestler if I remember right so he'll probably either have a match with him or be involved in things that way.

Edit: And there's nothing legitimate about the quality of acting in neighbours so he'll fit in well :P

Anyone have any idea what sort of role he'll play?

Guessing from my knowledge of Neighbours (waking up to it when iI was a student a few years back) id say:

Tody (I think his name is, the adult in the below pic) plays a guy who often acts like a big kid and is a wrestling fan, but at this point after being in the show so many years he is probably playing the father/big brother type role to the lil kid in the pic that id assume is a WWE fan. So i could imagine something like Tody (what a name!) promises to bring the kid to a WWE event while they tour over there but something comes up and he lets the kids down so he does something like wait in the parking lot after the gig and gets a wrestler (Big Dave) to come back to the local coffee house where everything in town happens to meet the kid and give him an autograph etc...

but then again i just made that all up, but knowing the show and that its supposidly a talking role something like that could make sense.
