Private bus from Dublin to Castlebar?

    Does anyone know of a private bus service from Dublin to Castlebar?

    From this list http://www.transport.ie/viewitem.asp?id=10157&lang=ENG&loc=1701 (slightly out of date) there is no licence from Dublin to Castlebar. That isn't to say there isn't one from Dublin via Castlebar to somewhere else.

    These seem to be the local operators if you want to give them a shout.

    bartons of maynooth used to do a few daily services to ballina and castlebar I think

    Only 2 Bus Eireann coaches a day and takes a near 5 hour roundabout route via Athlone, Roscommon, Knock, Claremorris, Swinford... no express service.

    Get train, 3 per day and far better service and around 3 hours. Cheaper if you book online.
