Hey, I got sick of the cheap lexmark printer as the ink was a rip off. Im looking for a better printer thats cheaper to run. I was looking at laser printers but they are very expensive for a good one. What would be the best inkjet printer which has high capacity and refillable/cheap cartridges?

    Thanks

Thanks for the help mukki that looks like a good deal but I'm wondering if the printer is a bit too cheap?

This review doesn't sound too good:

Although those Xl cartridges do sound good think around 475 prints per cartridge!

What do you think of this one?

It seems a little higher spec'd.

I wouldn't mind spending a few bob around €100 if its going to be a good printer.

    Thanks

I have that printer Dermot. Does the job great. Good quality prints and pictures. Id recommend it.
I got mine in Harvey Norman. They asked for €60 - which included the usb cable and a ream of Canon paper. I said I didnt need the paper or cable - I used the cable from my old printer and get paper in work. so got for €40. Dabs charge delivery, so if you can get to HN id get it there.

Wont be near a Harvey Norman so i'll have to stick with online i'll probably get a few cartridges as well so delivery will work out cheaper
Which one do you have the F4280 or the F2280?
    Thanks

    Hey Dermot,

I use a B&W Lexmark Laser Printer for everyday stuff. Averaging 1700 pages on toner cartridge - it only costs 65euro new from Pixmania:

I had previously looked at a colour Xerox on Dabs (with network port) for about 160euro but I don't require colour so I decided just to go with the Samsung because I use the printer in work alot :)

thanks irock that looks like good value. Not too sure about black and white printing but that would work out cheap, I found the toner here for €60

Would that come with a toner?

Yep it comes with enough toner for 1500pages!

Its great value IMO. Runs hot though (as all laser printers) so make sure you plug it out when not in use ... just in case!

This is worth a look, Xerox Colour laser with Network port so you can share it out over the network (without having it connected to a pc).

Been looking at the running costs of a laser and i think for a colour one an inkjet would work out cheaper for the use it will be getting. Going to do a bit more looking round and I think i might get the first one recommended by mukki.

buy a used cheap HP B/W LaserJet - there are plenty out there and use it 95% of the time when you really just want b/w. Then use a separate colour printer for your occasional colour printing.

I bought a laserjet on ebay about 6 years ago for less than 100 quid and use it constantly at home and have never replaced the toner. My color HP color inject I use for only when i need colour. It does a great job, ink is expensive but again I do not need to replace very often.
