    Hi All
I am trade by chef but a sole trader now since three years doing food and beverage consulting. Business was Ok till end of last year. I advertised in advert.ie, gumtree.ie, direct email, etc. Any suggestions how to market myself better?!

What do you want to me marketed as? A chef or a consultant?

I think the time of consultants has passed, for the forseeable future anyway.

You should target the fact that times are tough and that you are the main 'ingrediant' to make someones business succeed or help the start up...

Also if competition is tough how about a 'Price Promise' if somebody, anywhere in Ireland offers the same service as yourself, and quotes them cheaper for the service, you'll match the price & take 10% off!! It works!!

Target free local papers with a professional ad promoting this, even offer a free* 1st consultation. Limerick Independant, Limerick Post etc

What about auctioneers?? Anybody that enquires food premises could your details be passed onto the potential buyer?? Its in the auctioneers interest to push your business as this could increase their business..

Set up a you tube channel showing your best dishes. Ask all you friends to put the videos on the Bebo/Facebook pages. You never know, you could become the next big thing. You should also write a free e-book on your topic. Again, ask all your friends to read it and pass it on.
