How do the stars under peoples names work?

    Is it based on the number of posts or how long someone's been subscribed???

    And while we're asking these questions, how do you get it say something other than "registered user"? I've had a look at the various profile settings and the FAQ but to no avail.

    Probably more suited to the helpdesk.

    If you want more stars then you get 3 I don't know when, maybe after a certain period of time. You get 4 if you are a subscriber and pay a small donation to boards each year, a subscription fee if you will. These stars are red and you also get a few other benefits. After that the stars go up for moderatorship.

    Stars are baced on race results. Red stars are the highest classifcation.

    You get 3 grey stars after 500 posts and 4 after 10,000 posts.

    ^^ needs to be updated actually since there are now blue stars for employees of Boards.ie.

    More or less:

    One star - new user
    Two stars - more than 100 posts
    Three stars - more than 500(?) posts or Hosted Moderator.
    Four stars - Moderator / Category Moderator
    Four stars pink - Subscriber (optional)
    Four stars yellow - Super Moderator
    Five stars blue - staff
    Five stars yellow - admin

    Moderators get the tag line "Moderator". Subscribers can chanage their tag line.
