    Hi,

I've applied for a course in Ballyfermot and and received a letter to attend for interview, just wondering should one dress as if attending a job interview or is a more casual attire more appropriate, thanks for any advice.

    Hi,
I am the same, i have just received a letter for an interview too. I think im going to wear what i would wear to the college, like jeans and a nice top etc. I dont want to look like out of place or as if i am going for a job!

    Hope that helps

I would try to look serious. Regardless of the fact that its a course and not a job, you still need to look like you give a monkeys

I dont think that jeans and t shirt are good for first impressions. I wore a suit to my job interview. Three years on, i have never worn anything outside of jeans and t shirt in.

Get yer foot in the door, then wear what you like so long as yer short and curlys are covered up ;)

jeans and a top dont need to look casual - they can be very smart. also, i cant see any prospective students wearing a suit.... i have been at one of these before and it is not as formal as a job interview. Normally the college are just looking to see that you have an interest in the subject and find out why you would like to study it there.

I certainly wouldn't agree with wearing a suit- really there's no need to be too formal- the main thing is that you are presentable- not scruffy- are articulate and come across with a real interest in what you are talking about. Don't stress about it too much- just try to get across what benefits this course would give you in terms of your development and future career. I have done an interview for ballyfermot before and its very relaxed and informal- so be confident and happy in your abilities!

the college interviews are fairly informal, jeans and a nice t-shirt wud b fine. its only really a chat with the year head to make sure you are really interested in the course. i wouldnt worry to much about it.
