If it's worth the extra money to you to have your MR2 look like that then by all means go ahead.

For 30 grand sterling you could buy an MR2 and tune it to beat a real Lambo in a drag race! The question is do you want to talk the talk or walk the walk?

I think it would be cooler to have a lambo beating car that doesn't look like a 150K+ car.

That's about the size of it. In my experience, the majority of coupe buyers are talkers.

I would put replica cars in the same category as fake watches - pointless.

If the car has integrity, like the AC Cobra replica with a proper V8 etc. then it is fine. They can't use the Cobra name because its owned by Shelby.

Putting a Ferrari shell on an MR2, though, is just plain stupid.

Usually i would agree but with the lambo replica i think its right up there with fake breasts, not as good as originals but still far from pointless :)

    Fake boobs - sometimes good
    Fake cars - never good

    ;)

They're not terribly keen to show the interior of that Lambo replica.

Jay kays smashed lambo diablo has morphed into a merc vito pickup truck with a flatbed with glass covering the 12 cylinders.
It sounds amazing and is good for 170mph before becoming unstable.

Would you consider this a replica?

Some repliacs are better than the origonals.

Lotus 7 (Westfield, caterham to name 2)
Shelby AC Cobra (GD or AK to name 2)
some of the newer Gt40 replicas.

Both then they are new cars from the ground up with custom designed chassis and suspension using industry standard engines, gearboxes and diffs which is my mind is no bad thing.

bolting a body kit onto an existing car on the other hand.....

    Well to each his own.

That Lambo looks the business but as soon as you would turn over the engine the whole illusion would come crashing down.

That steel frame structure looks dangerous. It doesnt appear to be designed to replicate the strength of the original roof structure. From what I can see, that car would fold in a mild accident. The frame seems to be purely to carry the lambo shape with little thought given to structural strength
