My sis is due to renew her car insurance soon and she is wondering when she puts in the info about claims in the last five years what to put down.

She had a claim of about €2k but she had the fully protected NCB so its not affected her NCB.

Does she have to declare it and if so will it affect her quotes?

She has to declare any claims. That said, it is a small claim so it mightn't have much of an effect on premiums. Do make sure she declares it though, if she doesn't it'll void her insurance.

For such circumstances I'd never use the online tool Lex. Best to phone and explain the situation, enforcing the whole protected NCB thing.
Is there any small print on being able to move insurer after such a claim (i.e. a protected NCB claim)?

Haven't a clue ciarsd. She's not the type I'd say to check small print. I'll see her next week and go thro her policy.

Hows things with you...? Get yourself that 530d yet?
