Is drinking water going to be a problem? Will it be safe, what are the possibility's of it becoming contaminated? Will it still be running after Z Day?

One of the (other) good things about country living is I have access to a natural under ground spring. It's something ye lads in the city should consider if ye really want to stay put. The water service may be cut off or contaminated, the city may be a hotbed of all kinds of diseases, easily spread through water.

    Boil the water from where?

In the first week or more maybe, there will be plenty of bottled water. After that where does the water come from? By then the water supply will more than likely be shut down. Our rivers are highly polluted as it is, they will more than likely be worse after a few thousand dead are thrown into them.

You can get purer sources of water from streams further in land but I think the rivers may possibly no good to drink out of due to farming and industrial pollution.

That only leaves under ground springs. There are 100s throughout Ireland, I urge you all to find your nearest one.

You all seem to be forgetting the county we are living in.
    Thirsty?
Step out side and tilt head backwards.
    Open mouth.
    Feel refreshed.

Aye... but it's stocked and bottled. I'm imagining at least 2-3 full delivery trucks still in the plant carpark, as well as, a full assembly line.

Would see you through for about a year... Granted, it's stagnant, but it's clean water.

Boiling will sterilise water, so will a drop of domestos per litre. Tastes mank but would do in a pinch!

My hiking mates use these - http://www.steripen.com/

Or stock up now on any of these! http://www.lakelandbushcraft.co.uk/acatalog/Water_Purification.html
