    Hola,

Have a bit of an issue.

A buyer has opened a paypal dispute over a package not arriving.
He paid for the item on the 25th of Feb, due to a communication error the package was not shipped until the 3rd of March.
It was sent via Standard post in a hasty measure to get it out the door, From a Dublin office to an address in Lucan.

The seller never paid for shipping insurance. I am wondering what stance I should take on this. Any suggestions?

    Unfortunately you have no recourse.

You needed to have sent it registered mail.
I hope the package wasn't expensive.
You could contact Anpost if you still have the receipt and see if they can find it for you
and it might come back to you if you put you address on the back of the package.

Paypal won't be of any use as you have no proof of sending the parcel and now it seems unless you have a package couried
they won't accept registered as proof of dispatch.

I would never send anything by standard post.
Chalk it down as a error of judgement.

If it has a delivery address, it will be delivered, even if the address is wrong. If it's undeliverable, and has a return address, it'll come back to you. Without a tracking number, there's pretty much nothing that An Post can do, it's either delivered, or lost for good. If the delivery address or return address are not visible anymore, then they'll have no way to link it to you, and a receipt will do nothing for you.

Sorry to be pessimistic, just pointing out the reality of what you're facing.

You might as well refund the buyer now, as Paypal will find in his favour.
