Does anyone here use a specific brand of gloves for outdoor tactical training? I'm looking to 'invest' in a good pair. Thanks

No one should be going on the ground without at least one pair. Appart from the horrible white hands everywhere the protection factor, warmth at night and handling hot weapons. I've had more nasty burns then I care to remember.

I've snickers kneepads in my combats work nicely.

Hatch do good gloves but you'll have to order them. I got a pair of Hatch Hard Knuckle jobbies which are the business, lots of dexterity and Hard Kunckles for "Smacking fools"

In saying that there are alot decent gloves you can pick up that are non-military but still function perfectly as a tactical glove. Swing by a cycling shop and have a look.

Avoid waterproof neoprone gloves. They make your hands sweat and offer little against the cold. And if they have that fold up trigger finger thing the velcro scratches you when you put your hand up to wipe your face!

A few people have recommended these Sealskinz to me. I'm not sure they're worth €30 quid though?

    Any opinions?

I just want something that will keep my hands warmish, without effecting my handling.

I still want to be able to pack heat with great efficiency. :D

I have a pair of those and they are too thick, even if they are a close fit.

Ideally imo you want one pair of something along these lines

    http://www.polartec.com/contentmgr/showdetails.php/id/1156

    And then something like these

    Military_Gloves_Combat_Gloves_Law_Enforcement_Gloves.jpg

    for camming out etc

Or if you want the gucci option that some people have mentioned then thesehttp://www.bowerstactical.com/store/wiley-x-gloves-cag1-combat-assault-2nd-generation-p-1416.html
I would opt for some thin contact gloves(as in first link), and a pair of thick protective leather gloves with a bit of thermal insulation which can fit over them:pac:

Try out the 5.11 gloves, I use them all the time in cold weather or wet condictions. Very light weight, flexie with fantastic grip and touch sensitive.

    Try the website on

I also think that the airsoft guy at MIA near Blanchardstown, Dublin has an agency for the 5.11 brand.

Cammoing hands never works. Comes off in minutes and leaves a greasy mess all over everything you touch (mainly the weaopn) even if you just do the backs.

Eh? I'm on about building up sentry positions/OPs, adding cam to webbing/helmet, when its gorse and such like its nice to have a set of gloves that are hard wearing, also for handling anything hot they are handy.
Ref not camming hands?? So you just leave them out? Nice pingable white hands?? There's no emoticon for 'eerrrrr bad drills'!!!
But I suppose if you've spent a fortune on nice toy guns the last thing you want is to get them dirty??!!:P;)
Every bit of skin that might be exposed should be cammed!

To simplify sligtly hands should be covered in gloves not camo cream. As I said above it comes off your hands to quickly to be usefull.

    Misunderstood you completely didn't I!!

I still think that any skin that may be exposed should be cammed though, otherwise when you go for a $hit you will look like marcel marceau:p
    Anyway, TO THE PUB, HO!!

In the wisdom of the Defence Forces they issue us toilet paper so I think white hands holding big white tissues vesus cammo hands holding white tissues there isn't much of a diference. I'd love to see you on the ground Duffers by the sounds of it you cammo up your arse before you take a ****.

Cammo does not make you invisable, if your squating over a hole int he ground with your combats round your ankles you kind of screwed if the enemy are around regardless. Your only hope us the GPMG postion that will be covering your arse (literally).

Sorry gents I did post a relevant story as a reply but it was....a bit too graphic for the boards!!!
Suffice to say it was about taking a tactical dump in the field.
Anyway, yes Rew I know you are in the DF I was just trying to get you on a bite!! I used to love airsoft when I was younger.
In answer to your post, yes you would love to see me in the field, but you WOULDN'T see me because I would be so cammed out you'd be like that *where is he*:DHonestly though, I always got full points on stalks(yeah I know biiig fecking wooooh:rolleyes:)

I walked right into that, the moral of the story being, don't post when you are plastered, you just end up sounding a mong.
I don't need help with that:)
