the reason I asked is because when I was checking a GT on the ros site, it has 10,000 down as the OMSP for a 02DR 1.9 JTD Lusso, compared with 23,000 for all others. Is this an error or whats going on?

    STATISTICAL CODE:40785359
    MAKE:ALFA ROMEO
    MODEL:GT
    VERSION: 1.9 JTDM LUSSO 2DR / SPORTS COUPE (NON-CONVERTIBLE) / MANUAL / DIESEL /
    CO2 EMISSIONS:165
    MILEAGE: 69000 MILES
    DATE OF FIRST REGISTRATION:FEBRUARY 2004
    OPEN MARKET SELLING PRICE:€9394
    RATE OF TAX: 24%
    VEHICLE REGISTRATION TAX:€2254

    Too good to be true?

My understanding is that the Lusso is the basic model. Leather seats were an option and came with smaller 16" alloy wheels and no multi-fuction steering wheel.

Sportivo came with leather interior, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control and 17" alloy wheels afaik.

There is also a special edition called the Monza which was based on the Sportivo but had extras included upgraded 18" alloy wheels and chrome exterior wing mirrors.

Maybe someone here who owns one will have more specific info.

I think you're right bazz. Lusso back in 04 was the bog standard spec.

The '07 Monza here is the equivalent of the UK Blackline only it was available here in more colours than just black. See my ad link for the Monza.

Specs changed over the years but I think if you're buying one of these I would say leather, 17" wheels min and the BOSE system are a minimum requirment.

I checked recently on the VRT site and it had a diffenece of almost 10k on the OMSP from a 07 Blackline to a 07 1.9JTDm. I think the online calculator is throwing out some weird numbers at the moment for certain cars. A call to the office might be a better option

The OMSP has come down. An 07 GT was valued at €30k last month, it's 20k this month and I paid about €4,800 VRT on mine just the other day.

Edit, mine is lusso - leather, bose, 17" alloys

I have and 04 GT and there is no mention of Lusso, Sportivo or other anywhere in the documentation (VLC etc).

As far as I know, multi function steering wheel was standard on all GTs-I have yet to see one without it. Ditto for climate control.

Possibly-€9,394 seems very low, but I guess that's the way things have gone....

Be great if thats the case, save a shed load of cash. I'll keep an eye on it as the OMSP for the others doesn't seem to have changed by too much. Thanks for the info guys

Had 2 GT's in the past - petrol and diesel.

Only the very earliest GT's had no steering controls - from late 2005 it was standard issue on all trim levels.

The basic GT on any market is one from 2004 (the initial release models) which came with Alfatex cloth, no bose, no steering wheel controls.

All of them had bi-zone climate control.

Between 2006 & 2007 models, there is a slight change to the interior shading of the dash/plastics. They turned a darker (nicer) shade - A La GTA models. They also came with MP3 capability via the CD Headunit.

What kinda spec are you hoping for vinruane? The bog spec is not great in fairness.

17s for some comfort - 18s for the look (they can be a bit trashy and suffer some tramlining but definitely not as aggressive as some have posted).

I would hope to find one with the leather seats, steering controls, bose, 17's the nicesties really! But if i can get a standard model in from england for under ten i might be very tempted!

Ciaran, I'd say yours is a Sportivo

Well I'll be....and I have seen that car advertised for months. Really is a 'poverty spec' for a GT-coth/16s/no MFSW. Still, not unusual to see 16s and Alfatex on a GT for sale in Ireland....

A diesel in 'burgandy' ya right Tom, there's nowt Sporty about it :D
They turned a darker (nicer) shade - A La GTA models.

Meh-tis still grey. Blasted Alfa and their cosmetic changes, I managed to source an OEM MP3 headunit after months of searching and fitting an aftermarket unit only to find that there was a significant difference in colour between the non-MP3 and MP3 stereos-I thought that the darker HU was the preserve of Monzas/Blacklines/Cloverleafs.....

what's the reliability like with a low mileage (60k) 04/05 1.9 diesel GT..

    are they a good car?

I need a diesel...really like the look of the GT...

Redsoxfan is your best bet for an answer on this....that sounds like right about what his GT is at at the moment. From speaking to him he's not mentioned anything serious at all.

Mine is too young and low mileage to comment but so far so good
