Just want to share my joy with you all, I have my rescheduled test date next week and I have arrived home for a few days to get some practice. My dad brought me around the test area today to practice my reverse round the corner. It's the one bit of driving I just can't master, I think it's a mental block.

Anyhow, he showed me a few tricks in getting it right, and did it himself a few times, and finally, after an entire hour of reversing around two different corners, I got it right, so we headed for home.

He's after heading out with my mum just there, so I decided to go out and test my newly learned skill on a different corner, about four meters from my house, and I succeeded! I'm after getting it perfect four times in a row, and I'm thrilled that I can do it on my own, without any coaching from my dad or instructor.

Hopefully I can recreate it for the test!!!! :D:D

Brill! Once you can do it that many times you should be ok :)

Hopefully! I think I'm okay for everything else, I have been doing turnabouts constantly for the last few weekends, mainly because i keep getting lost in housing estates. I know my engine inside out (dad wouldn't let me drive the car until I could tell what everything under the bonnet was and does), I'm going through the questions, but I had them prepared for my original test date. I love roundabouts, and I'm grand with hill starts.

The only thing worrying me now is that at the end of the test they may ask me to reverse park up a hill. The reverse parking is fine because it's what I always do, however, going up the hill at the same time I find difficult. Gonna get some practice for the bit the morning of my test because I don't have anyone to come to Naas with me again until then. Fingers crossed though!!!

You will be asked to do a hill start ,but i've never heard of doing a reverse park up a hill? I did the test several times and the only time they asked me to park the car was when the test was at an end and they say " park the car wherever is convenient",:P

Before you do the test put your car in a nice spot where you can just drive off without having to reverse out of a parking lot

It's the parking at the test center, they will ask me to park in a space that requires you to reverse up a hill, that's according to my instructor! It's seemingly just Naas center, and the test center is built on a hill.

Thanks Donegalfella, I was just going by what my instructor told me, which was that I would be asked to do the reverse park bit. Seems she may have been preparing me for the worst outcome possible. That's one less thing to worry about!!!
