I was getting some realistic online quotes for my next car when I got bored and started looking at the big fish just for the laugh:

Revelant details: Male, 20, Dublin, Full License, 1 yr NCB, no points, no claims.

    2001 X5 worth €13k, quoted €3000 Fully Comp
    2000 Z3 worth €8k, quoted €2000 TPFT
    1999 Boxster worth €11k, quoted €2400 TPFT
    2001 M5 worth €19k, quoted €3500 TPFT

I'm guessing the system is just fúcked?
    -2000 Ferrari 360 worth €75000, quoted €4500 Fully Comp.
    -2005 DB9 worth €90,000, quoted €4700 Fully Comp.

Is it worth crossing my fingers and ringing them :p

123 are cutting prices left and right to get business, I'd personally not like to have to make a claim with them although I'd be interested to see how other people have gotten on with them. Cheap house insurance all the same. They're 60 quid cheaper on my car insurance but decided not to go with them for peace of mind.

worth trying http://www.quoteclub.ie/motor.php as they give you comparision of both company quotes as well as broker quotes.

Cheers, tried the X5 example for TPFT (Porsche wasn't even an option!) and got no quote from about 85% of them, including 123.ie, €1100 from nononsense.ie up to €1800 from FBD

It just keeps searching, no results:confused:

Anyway, nobody could beat insure.ie for me. They seem to be the cheapest out there, especially if you ring them as they even knocked another 100quid off when i did that.

Very pleasant to deal with too.

    EDIT
Wait... it just said Aliance Direct gave me a quote for 698 euro :O That can't be right!?? The cheapest i could get was 1,100 a month ago and paid :(

Yeah but then i went to Alianz website and did an online quote and they said:

"Sorry, you do not meet the necessary criteria to obtain a quote. If you have any queries please call us."

You have zero chance of getting a proper quote for beasts like these online!!!!!

    Nice cars :(

if you want to depress yourself a bit - go onto chill.ie
they even tell you exactly who they deal with (eg axa drive first...)

    Anyway - I'm in a similar position to the OP 22 - living in a city - 1 year NCB -

If i had my licence for 5 years - some of the quotes where

    Porsche Boxster 98' 2.5L fully comp (group 17) - around €1849

    My current car (group5) - €649 (i pay €1680)

the 1.8 GTi version of my car (group 13) - €850 ish

I think the Excess was in the low hundreds too - 300 mark or something

    I wonder if they'd insure me on a 1936 Lincoln :D

that website is handy but it only uses the quick quotes features on some of the brokers websites, which always give quotes but when you add additional information it wont give a quote :(

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but with 123.ie Travelers Insurance always seem to come up as the cheapest.Im looking throught the irish site of that company but cant find the terms and conditions on the site.

My insurance will be up in May and they are offering 1450 euro fully comp on a 04 1.9 tdi Fabia VRS, male 21, 1 yrs ncb, full licence.Seems a good deal as quinn, axa etc are all nearer 2k.Im just trying to find out if fully comp includes drive other cars, like quinn, axa and a few others do.

I have to say that 123.ie are a crowd of ****ers. If you are someone that can insure your car and not have to contact them for the full year then you will be ok, but if you have to alter anything about your policy god help you. I got a quotation for 563 euros for a Celica, I thought this was a good quote with fully protected no claims. I paid in full as the premium was low. They then contacted me a week later saying that although my previous insurer were given me 50% no claims they would not do this and would only give me 20% 2 years, they asked for €400 euro more I refused and told them I want to cancel my policy, I wasnt even with them 2 weeks and had not recieved my insurance disc.

They said the money be back in my account within 5 working days. I faxed off the cancellation form, they managed to lose that and they ended up finding it beside the fax machine a week after ! I waited and waited for this refund, 5 days after no sign of the money, I kept ringing, IT TOOK A MONTH TO GET A REFUND AND THEY DEDUCTED €200 for cancelling the policy even though i was only with them less than 14 days. RIP OFF COMPANY dont go near them. I now returned to Hibernian a company i can trust. !

123 are a brokers rather than being Travelers "brand in Ireland" as claimed by someone here - in the past they've resold Eagle Star (Zurich) and others but currently appear to just sell Travelers motor insurance. I've the house here insured on I think Axa through them...

All their house insurance is from Zurich.
