And i'm not talking about that god awful Doro Pesch album either.

First got into em around 1991 when i saw the video for The Wasteland on Headbangers Ball, then got Drugs, God and The New Republic. Being a big Joy Division fan, i was also surprised to see a cover of Interzone on the track list, and even more surprised at how good it was.

Which is why i'm sticking it up here. Someone threw it onto youtube, obviously videoless. But the intro and the JD cover are definitely worth checking out if you haven't heard either.

Last Decade Dead Century was bloody amazing, A great debut. Salutations was quite good too. The last one I got was Space Age Cowboys which I didnt think was great.Kory Clarke had some pipes all the same.

I shared a taxi with Kory to Fibbers after a barely attended Almighty gig,and also had a few pints with him. He was dead sound!

I've heard he's a bang on guy. They still do regular shows over in the UK (Whenever Kory isn't detained in the US under disturbance charges), I plan to check them live at some stage.

Space Age Playboys was a little grungier than it's predecessors, but i actually enjoyed it. Having a second guitarist in XFactor was what i thought they needed. More than Kory's haircut anyway. The Drug and The Pretty Faces were pretty solid tracks. Unfortunately the band was slowly disintegrating at that stage, as he disbanded them a little over a year later (although reformed them again a few years back)

If you can find Odds & Ends (or F*cker as it's also titled), get it. Half of it are out takes and b-sides from Ghetto Nation, and Last Decade Dead Century. You won't be disappointed. :)

Edit: That barely attended Almighty gig wasn't the one at the Music Centre in 2001, was it?

Kory's singing in Trouble now, should be interesting to hear.

Got a lot of time for this band, I liked pretty much everything up to and including the Space Age Playboys album, even if it has the most unimaginative selection of drumbeats in recorded history. When Kory was pissed off about something he could really belt it out, great singer.

No it was for the Crank tour in 94/95 in the SFX. It was embarrassing, I would say there was about 200 at it.

    I win! :D
I think there was about 50-60 people at the music centre one. Most of them standing at the back (before they tore the wall down between the bar and the stage)

Needless to say, Ricky Warwick was less than impressed with it.

Trouble without Wagner?! How come I'm always last to hear about these things? It should definitely be interesting anyway.

The last Kory Clark cd I bought was Opium Hotel, didn't think much of it to be honest and I don't know a lot of the Warrior Soul stuff. I'm well out of the loop it seems :(

Maybe I was being a bit generous with 200 people at the gig, there were about 4/5 rows of people which looked shyte in the SFX the big shed that it was.
    Enjoyed the gig anyway!

Ghost try Last Decade Dead Century, you cant go wrong!

In order to listening, i would recommend

    Last Decade Dead Century
    Salutations From The Ghetto Nations
Drugs God and The New Republic
    The Space Age Playboys
    Chill Pill
Odds & Ends (for the outtakes)
Chinese Democracy (the limited edition one they did last year under that title to f*ck Axl off, but it's not very good)

They usually go back and forth to the UK. but this tour was scrapped due to some sort of domestic lawsuit which prevented Clarke from leaving the country.

Completely different lineup, but they're still going, and still kickin' it live.

    D'oh sorry ... my mistake ... check this :
Warrior Soul Announce Rubicon 2011 European Tour Dates...
    Crossing the Rubicon takes courage.
On one bank is the familiar, and on the other a future that is unwritten.
To take the step across the divide is to commit to the unknown.
It's the great leap into the dark, and also the point that Kory Clarke (Warrior Soul) has been reaching for his whole life, so it is apt that the forthcoming Warrior Soul album has been named after the river where Julius Caesar committed himself and his legionnaires in 49BC.
For it is there, figuratively, that Warrior Soul stand contemplating a glorious past, and fearlessly look forward to what will be their future.
To celebrate this moment they are very proud to announce that they are about to embark on a very special tour for their fans. A tour that will serve as an introduction to what is to come, and will also pay homage to the past by resurrecting much loved Warrior Soul songs alongside rarities that have never been played live before.
The cliche 'not to be missed' was coined just for a tour like this.
Starting in Ireland the band are promising that they are going to deliver a show that will go down in the annals of rock and roll history as the benchmark of debauchery that all who follow will aim to emulate.
When the celtic hospitality of the emerald isle is exhausted the bands plan of attack will see them set sail and storm the shores of England before travelling north to conquer Scotland.
Dates for mainland Europe are also in the pipeline.
This is not a press release...
    This is a warning

still undecided about tonight - but might make it in, not feeling too good today, but would like to see them so I might just head in and stick to the minerals....

    Savage Gig
Wizards of Firetop Mountain were fantastic, I had heard good things about them and they were all true.

Dirty Diamonds were pure poo imo, I heard they murdered a Cinderella track the last time they played so I was glad I was spared that this time.

Cheerleader seemed ok but were off the stage as soon as they went on.

Warrior Soul were fantastic, setlist was good but I would have liked more from the 1st album, ears were ringing all next day. First time in The Pint and its not a bad spot but that maybe different if it was jammers and you were stuck down the back

Great night in all, I was talking to some Swedes(people not turnips) in the smoking area, who apparently never heard of Opeth:eek:, not sure if they were taking the p1ss out of me in my inebriated state or they could prophesize the backlash over Heritage and were just denying all knowledge!

Great gig ... sound was rough for the first 2-3 songs but got better. Not sure I like The Pint as a venue tbh.

    Got far too drunk

.... missed Janne Jarvis's presence on stage - wonder why he's not touring with them ? ...
