    alrighty,

we NEED a funky bassist to join our band asap.

we're going to be playing funk, soul, blues, hip hop, etc. covers and original music.

    experience essential.

    good taste essential.

mature social skills and sense of humor essential.

    ages 25+ only.

    Dublin only.

    diggin dudes only.

must be able to commit to rehearsing at least two weekday evenings every week.

we have our own private rehearsal room and high-end recording studio (actual, real high-end; not a laptop, an mBox and egg cartons on the walls of a bedroom. no cheap Chinese mics, all "boutique" handmade analog outboard, 24 i/o PTHD rig, serious acoustic treatment, etc.)

we're based in Sandymount, Dublin 4.

no kids, no metallers, no time wasters, no awkward loners, no emotional wrecks need apply.

    thanks,

    regards,

    Richie.

thanks for getting in touch and apologies for the delay in my getting back to this thread. i don't usually frequent these boards and forgot about it.

right now we're a 3-piece (drums, keys, guitar) and still in the gestation phase, jamming and writing, developing our sound. we need a bassist to take it to the next level. we have various other musicians and singers lined up for when we have some solid tunes ready for the bells and whistles. again, we need a regular bassist to get there.

we rehearse every monday, wednesday and friday, one of those nights as a hip-hop band (yes, with rappers). you don't have top play in both if you don't want to. in the hip-hop outfit we're a semi-session band, playing tunes written / sequenced by the rappers (with some of our own input). the other 2 nights of the week we are jamming / developing / writing our own material which is a funky, groovy, bluesy kind of thing. solid, simple drums with JB breaks, organs and rhodes from the keys player and choppy, funky guitar.

we have our heads screwed on, we're good craic, we all have plenty of experience and broad skill sets (playing more than one instrument, DJing, wrtiting, sampling and sequencing, sound engineering).

our ambitions are to write groovy music, play groovy music, record groovy music, gig groovy music and make a living out of it. no delusions of mega-stardom. total commitment. doing it for the love of it.

let me know if you fancy coming over for a couple of jams.

sorry man, i don't know what you're talking about.

the kind of bassist we're looking for is Billy Cox, young Bootsy Collins, Alfonso Johnson, Duck Dunne.

Im 35 and been playing nearly 20 years, Ive my own gear and transport, Im a fan of all things groovy and funky, influences as players would be Doug Wimbish, Stuart Zender, Larry Graham, John Entwhistle, Cliff Burton, James Jamerson and Dusty Hill to name a few. I have studio/session and live experience and have played with most styles. Do you have any samples of any of your music I could hear? cheers
