Fancy Dress: Theme is Green

So Paddy's weekend is upon us and I'm attending a fancy dress party where the theme is green. Normally I tend to go to these things as that mundane ****e who makes no effort. However this year I'm determined to dress up.

What am I going as? .......... a pool table.
Yes that's correct I'm going to dress up as a pool table.

I should be able to get some green felt (used to work for a pool table company). The logistics of the rest of the costume are a bit up in the air. Myself and some colleagues did a bit of brain storming and here's what we came up with.
    • It will be an apron style costume with a bit of string going around the neck.
    • Use wire coat hangers at the top and sides to keep a bit of structure.
    • In order to give a cushioned effect, wrap the sides of the felt around newspaper or some such material
    • Leave the corners a bit sparse so I can colour in black pockets
    • The D area will be on my chest, simple black marker.
    • Print out a racked set of pool balls on glossy photo paper and attach to the felt somehow.
    • Attach a small bit of chalk to the cushion
    • Either bring a cue or print out a queue striking a queue ball from the top down.
    • Use cardboard to reinforce the back of the apron.

These are the list of ideas so far.

Can the enlightened individuals of boards.ie provide some innovative ideas for this unique costume?

Bring pool cues and run any time anyone says black in corner pocket

for a simpler pool table you could dress in all black/ brown... and wear a green sweater vest, black marker in the vest with the markings.. so your arms and legs are the legs of the table

A mate of mine dressed up as a pool table at a party last year. Good set up and cheap to make. He did it like an apron with green felt, then he coloured some ping pong balls in red and yellow. Classy:pac:

    Brilliant!

I thought I was unique, it's always been done before, *sigh*.
Might rob that ping pong ball idea though, nice.

Most cost-effective costume is to wear a giant hanky covered in runny blobs of green snot.

Paint yourself green and rip your pants, go as the incredible hunk. job done.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    You could go as

    The Incredible Hulk

    Borat

    Peter Pan

    Yoda

    Shrek

    a Pimp

or, if time and money are options you could make your own costume and go as

The Jolly Green Giant - wear all green clothes, paint your face green, wear green gloves. Bonus points if they're all different shades of green. Double bonus points if you are under 5ft 5" tall.

A Pea Pod - Collect 5 or 6 beachballs. Paint green. Attach them to yourself (front or back). Preferably with velcro, not superglue.

Problem is, you may have to surround yourself with an entourage of impulsive, foolhardy schoolchildren for authenticity.

You could wear a naff 80s slazenger sweater and beige Farah slacks and go as Tony Green

For added effect you could bring really crap prizes with you

Stick one of those energy saving lightbulbs to your head or a cap or something - then you ARE green, all the way through, not just on the surface. Cue drunken philosophical rambling party conversation at 4am about what being green - the colour or the global viewpoint - actually might mean.

Quite a lot of effort, tbh.

Simply projecting an overwhelming aura of smugness would suffice.

Bring a bike, a pair of glasses and dye your hair white... to say you're John Gormley from the green party.

Wheely bins come in all sizes and colours like humans

But I was refering to Green Wheely bin
As the theme is GREEN ??!!!??<<>>

Was thinking you could ask your friends to bring cans
If anyone accuses you of stealing the cans (when full)
You can say its just your nature

They prefer to be called African American wheely bins.
