Garda Book

Hi
I am looking to try track down a book about an garda siochana, it was called something like "In the line of duty" it would have been published in the mid ninties and it was mainly a picture book of about a week in dublin with guards going to different calls and activities.

If anyone can provide the proper name and or the isbn number it would be much appreciated

I remember this.

There was a photojournalist allowed access to staions and cars fo a period.

He was in Store St (I think), Dundalk and somewhere in Galway like Clifden/Connemara. I'd bet the library in Templemore have a copy, so someone there might help you out.

I had a copy ages ago but it's long since lost.

There was some legendary moments in there, like the guard bedding down for the night in his sleeping bag with the phone and radio on the floor beside him


I think it was called "Taken Down In Evidence".

"Taken Down In Evidence" by Leo Regan-Gill & Macmillan published 1995. Still a great read if you can get your hands on it.

I remember reading it in the old garda college library, it was a great read, well worth hunting down for a copy of it

Received my copy today and its in great condition. It also has a handwritten note on the first page frm the author to the previous owner, which is kinda cool.

Some great photo's in there, anybody waiting on theirs will get a few laughs from both the photo's and some of the interviews with the Gardai involved.
