Shanowen Square Application

    Hey all,
Shanowen Square started accepting applications for next year on the 2nd March (Monday). My 2 friends submitted their application forms together on the Friday (6th). They had each others names and my name written down on the form to live together.

I then submitted my application on the Monday (9th). I had their names down on my form. I asked the girl at the office could I be put in with them but she was pretty vague (generic "we do our best, no guarantees" line).

When do we find out about whether we have Shanowen or not? Do you think there's a good chance I'll be put in with them cos I mentioned it and we all have our names on each others forms, or do you think there's a chance I might end up seperate cos the 2 of them submitted theirs together at a different time?

    Any thoughts appreciated!

I think You'll get it, they only say that to cover themselves. Most people haven't even thought about applying yet!!

I'd say you'll be okay, I never heard of anyone not getting what they wanted. When I was in second year we had different names all over our forms and they still managed to match us all up.
You'll get a letter from them in August telling you which apartment your in and if it turns out your not with your mates let them know I'd say they'll do some switching around for you!

I handed my application in in mid-April when I didn't get Hampstead, and they told me there and then that I had a place. And then today I got an email from them confiming my application and they'll offer me my room in June.

If I'm in that situation, then you're definitely ok.

I know someone who's been accepted about two weeks ago, although they lived there last year... But once it's in be now there shouldn't be too much of a problem I would say.

I really want to get into Shanowen next year, but coming up with €350 for the booking deposit right now just isn't going to happen...
