Someone told my wife today there was a big dog show in the RDS on Paddy's Day and she got all excited and wanted to bring our dog, but I've been looking for any information on it and can't find anything.

Anyone know anything about this or was our source mistaken?

I went last year and it was great fun. It used to always be on in the RDS but last year it was on in Cloghran - just past the airport. I think it's on there this year aswell. I'm not 100% sure what the story is with bringing your own dog but last year there were dogs everywhere so I'm sure you'd have no problems.

The Irish Kennel Club have a big dog show every year at the national show centre in cloghran, near the airport.
As far as I remember it starts around 10 or 11 in the morning and continues throughout the day, they have agility competitions and obedience competitions as well as the breed shows throughout the day.
You'll get a programme when you arrive if you want to watch the shows, and I think you have to pay a small amount in also, can't remember how much it was the last time I was there.

Here's a list of the dog shows organised for the rest of the year in case you're interested....

Yes this show is on in CLOGHRAN, The National Show Centre, judging starts at 9am and usually goes on all day.

I will be there showing my rottweiler outside.

Please note, you are not allowed to bring your own dog there, unless it is being shown. They are quite strict on this too.

Last year there were lots of people with dogs not being shown. I went with a friend and his GSD who he just brought to socialise with the other GSDs. Great fun!!

I got some great bargains on leads and collars too.

The IKC are clamping down big time on this, even people who show, have to pay for dogs that arent being shown, but are brought to the show.
It says on the schedule it will be strictly enforced.

It's been in Cloghran for the last few years not just last year - I have been there for the last few years on a charity stand

I know it has, it used to be at RDS few years ago.
People still associate the big paddys day dog show with the RDS though, thats why i said it used to be in the RDS.

What stand are you on? Ill come say hi? and donate too if i have some money.:)
