I had one, lovely pistol aesthetically but need work for them to properly function, i got one off a guy here he had it modified to work properly. Very hard on gas i find but a nice kick, average accuracy too

What kind of work though? As in is it worth the work?

As far as i know it's a grip safety issue, but that was an early version i should mention maybe newer ones are better, you should look up info on them on arniesairsoft.co.uk

I liked mine, but if your willing to buy a TM hi capa i'd go for that as they are regarded as one of the best GBB's money can buy, not metal though but loads of upgrade parts available

Avoid like the plague, its not a reliable or fun gun.

Early models are produce in the same way now as ever, with poor materials and parts fit, later models can work ok, but not a reliable piece.

Get a tm hicapa, or the kjw.

arniesairsoft has a section with issues on this gun, the 5.1 model is especially troublesome.

Cant say ive seen all that many of them giving problems. there have been a few leaf spring issues but nothing that i would tarnist their whole reputation for. The 1911 by WE however, thats a nightmare. they shatter the barrel collar from the recoil and that causes it to spit the recoil spring out the front. I have a WEbaby hicappa here over a year now without so much as a hicup. :)

Actually about the barrel collar richie is there any replacement for it one could use that won't fail? Picked up a we 1911 recently cheaply enough and i'd like to make it perform better without fear of explosions!

Not that i know of man,
I came up with a much stronger solution though, ya know the button kinda piece that in the front if it, the bit the spring goes into. I inserted that as normal and drilled a 2mm hole right through the front lower part of the slide, through the button thingy and out the other side, then just hammered a retaining pin (from an MP5 hicap) through the hole and dremel'd off the excess. its a really clean job and very discreet. it'll take a hell of a beating too., :)

Interesting i might do that so, have me an MP5 hicap here somewhere lol Also do you know if Bell 1911 mags are compatible? I hear WE decided to make this 1911 by copying some parts of TMs hi capas which is horribly confusing for guys like me looking for upgrade parts!

tm hi cappas are brilliantb and the frame is metal, only the slide needs changing if "full metal " is important to you
