Proxys for macs

    Hey guys. Just wondering could any of you help me configure my mac to work with some programs on campus?

    I'm using the residence internet, and while I've managed to get it working with firefox and mac messenger, there's still a load of things I can't access, like the itunes store, google earth, sky player and a few other things.

    I've done a search through previous topics and I've found that proxy.dcu.ie page, but tbh I couldn't make a bit of sense over it. But I did try configure one or two things in the proxy settings of FF but didn't work.

    Any suggestions?

    Hmm....turns out mac mail no longer works when going through the proxys. I just inputted proxy3.dcu.ie and 8080 for all the different protocols (FTP, Web, Secure Web, Streaming, SOCKS and Gopher).

    And idea which one of those would be the one thats blocking mac mail from syncronising?

    Socks is port 1080

    Might be it.
