    It's essentially just the packages. Cosmetic differences too (as in themes) but they can be applied yourself as well.

    afaik all the software in Studio is available in the repos for self install. It's like the Edubuntu variation - Ubuntu with educational packages preinstalled - or Medibuntu - Ubuntu will all codecs preinstalled.

    Another biggy is that Studio has a real-time kernel, better if you're working with multimedia. This saves you from having to compile your own kernel.
